This channel is absolutely horrid now. What happened? The weather forecast is constantly wrong and never comes close to lining up with independent weather forecasts from other sources. The concern is that they are not even coming close to alerting us with severe weather anymore and without that accurate forecast someone or multiple communities are going to get hurt from their incompetence. read more

People who live in Connecticut need to have four distinct wardrobes. Each season usually changes gradually anywhere from 20 to 30 degrees. However in 2023, it has been very common to have the temperature change 30 degrees within 24 hours or less. The highest temperature ever recorded in Connecticut was 103 °F which occurred on July 22, 2011. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Connecticut was -20 °F which occurred on February 9, 1934. While it is really nice that we haven't had those extremes in the past 12 months, the 30° temperature changes in one day require major adaptations to both wardrobe and outdoor plans. Personally, I am looking forward to 80° and sunny. I would love to find a place to live that has that kind of weather most of the year. Any suggestions? read more

I used to check The Weather Channel almost daily. Suddenly they switched their format: time is indicated in military time. Huh? And the degrees when from Fahrenheit to Celsius. Huh? Why? So that the average person can't make heads or tails of your uncertain forecasts? I use other channels now to tell me what the temp is. Seems simple but I guess it's not. read more

This is not a critique of their weather forecasts. they are for the most part fairly accurate. My contention with them is they are literally the Sky Is Falling weather site. Totally woke with an agenda. Plenty of other weather sites out there like My Radar app. No, volcano activity not increasing, no this won't by a severe hurricane year (like every year), and global warming is a natural occurrence. What's worse is that I contacted them about this issue and got a flippant response that said to "buy their premium service if I didn't want ads". Now you have this huge screen of the entire United States and a small section on the right with information You really want to see. I have been a premium member for years. And can't wait to cancel. When I have to go to Yelp about a service, it's serious! I have used the weather channel for over 10 years, and to be honest, it's about as reliable as...the weather. I despise their new 'stars', all young and climate change oriented. This channel screams blue! Everything comes back to the same ridiculous 'opinionated' conclusion...climate change. Get over it, folks! I loved the old 'stars'. They avoided opinionating their stories, were very mature, and extremely professional. Now we have 'Sesame Street' performances with shaking fingers in our faces about harming the environment. I foresee this platform literally 'dying' in the future. It truly serves no purposes. Everyday is guesswork on weather forecasting, and the variations are so enormous there is no way I can rely on their 'advice'. We live in a seasonal monsoon location where weather forecasting is essential. To go from 10% to now 58% then back to 24% for rain is simply not okay! Our monsoon is torrential, and we live on a mountainside. Our lives are at stake. And the weather channel is simply a giant disappointment every single day! They even add additional sidelines that are not factual, and I've taken the time to do my homework to prove that. Sent them comments about their errors, and they refuse to remedy their false and lying comments. So not okay when they provide information to the general public. Yup! I understand the 1.7 stars for this platform now. They are horrible. I am seeking out a more reliable source and moving on!!! read more

The Weather Channel was my lifesaver when I lived in Florida. My job required I travel and I needed to know the weather forecast before I planned my day. They always provided valuable information pre, during and post hurricanes. I'd watch it for hours on end. They used to tease me at work calling me the weather girl. TWC has gone downhill since those days. My parents said the weather doesn't effect your mood or how you feel. I've learned otherwise. I always said I felt horrible when it rained. Later in life I found I had a mold allergy. The allergist said I need to move to a climate where everything is frozen. Mold spores and pollen are not my friends. I need mold, allergy, humidity and dew point reports I think the Weather Channel needs more of this detailed information and more educational information. I check allergy information and Air Quality every day. My main issue is the forecast entities all say something different! I can't recommend any weather media especially the Weather Channel. read more

They've got this guy, Charles Peek, from Arkansas, reporting on Hurricane Hilary in Palm Springs. He doesn't know where he is or what he's talking about, just burbling about flooding. we can see that there is flooding from the film footage. When asked about traffic patterns for the summer season, which is off season for PS, he burbles that there's lots of people out and about, even though the main roads going in and out of PS have been closed since early afternoon. which roads? the 111? Please get a veteran reporter who knows California to report on major and dAngelou's weather conditions in our state. read more

This channel is pure leftist agenda garbage now. It has turned into a bunch of reality TV shows geared for a 3rd grade remedial audience. If and when we do get any weather it is concentrated on the east coast, which must be populated by people with a remedial 3rd grade education. I want the weather not a boat load of preachy horse**** about their climate crisis. When we do get any weather it is for areas 1000+ miles away and it is mostly climate crisis agenda laced with a little bit of weather info added in. This is more useless than teats on a boar. I finally bought a NOAA Weather Radio (2 of them) and The Weather Channel be damned to their shoddy programming that was rejected by the special ed. department of The Discovery Channel for being too intellectually challenging for their audience of useful idiots. Even their hurricane coverage sucks striped ass baboon butts now. It's very colorful, but it's nothing more than that. Their knowledge of US geography is also just as uselessly horrible, as their half-assed sub par weather coverage is. This whole channel has become a leftwing shrine to the climate crisis narrative and is now 100% worthless as to containing any remotely usefully pertinent information as it relates to the actual real time weather. Get yourself a small UPS for your computer and a NOAA weather radio, and kick these jackasses to the curb. The life you save may be your own. Instead of a bunch of egotistical hacks, you get your local NWS office, with information that relates specifically to your local area, with towns, rivers, creeks, washes and other landmarks that you will recognize and know the exact locations of. read more

I am a weather report junkie. It's what happens when a rain-loving gal such as myself somehow ended up spending her entire life living in California. I turn to the Weather Channel and its website, weather.com, for most of my weather forecasting needs. Four seasons long, I avidly scour the "10-day forecast" for possibilities of rain. Weather Channel is a load of crap. Their specialty is WEATHER, yet they can't ever seem to get it straight. It will be cloudy as hell outside my window, but when I type in my zip code, I get a nice sunny icon for the "RIght Now" section. Load of crock!!! I'm only writing this review because the Weather Channel has let me down this entire week. When you promise rain, BRING IT! When you say it's going to rain until TUESDAY, don't change your mind 12 hours later and say it'll only rain until MONDAY! The Weather Channel is like a bad boyfriend. It gets you all excited, makes you feel that all your dreams will come true, only to flake out and leave you disappointed and heartbroken. It's your JOB to know your namesake. You don't do your job very well. What's even funnier is.. you steal your stuff from NOAA. *huff* When you promise rain and you don't deliver, I can't help but hate you. I wish they had more of an almanac so I'd know what the weather will probably be in two months. I'd appreciate it if they pointed out full moons or lunar eclipses too. My boyfriend says Weather Underground is a better website but they both got current conditions wrong when it rained recently because it probably only updates every few hours. This is the station I usually watch if I'm out of town and I zone out waiting for the right city because it often goes quickly at the forecast. When I'm planning reservations for a restaurant I've never been to, I often look for the time when sunset will be. read more

The current coverage of Hurricane Florence is awful. It is dominated by a few favorite reporters, that keep repeating themselves over and over. JIM Cantore and Stephanie Abrahams, dramatize useless info, not related to the important issues at hand. Where are the rest of the other 15 plus reporters? This is a serious storm, and should not be dominated by a few dramatic actors, reading from their I pad notes. read more
