We stayed at the rv park up the road and came into Weed to get some basics and wandered into the Weed Store. Couldn't find what I wanted but the cute young girl (Too young for me her mother was born the same year I graduated) was extremely helpful. She looked up stores in the neighbouring towns and even phoned one for us. All this knowing she wasn't going to get a sale. She introduced me to the owner, I think his name was Kevin, nice friendly guy, with similar interests. I would highly recommend shopping here and will definitely go back. Poor customer service from the owner herself. I called to resolve an issue about an unknown purchase and an unfamiliar signature on my child's debit card receipt. I was of course, rightfully upset, but am trying to keep it civil. I guess you can still tell from my tone that I was anxious and the owner's response to me was, "Cool it." Excuse me? This, mind you, is at the beginning of our conversation. I haven't even fully explained the reason of my call since I've never dealt with her before. In hindsight, she probably knew already what my issue is after I've identified myself. But why respond to a customer who could already be upset with an infuriating response? Poor. Customer. Service. Worse, she's so determined to get her questions answered & ignoring me, she started to talk over me. I knew then I wouldn't get anywhere with this lady so I hung up on her. Kevin, whom I was in communication with at the beginning, contacted me, smoothed things over and refunded my money. The owner is lucky to have him clean up her customer service mess. My advice is to take a moment & double check your receipts before you leave the store, especially if you're just passing by the area. And in the event you do have an issue, look for Kevin. read more

A great gift shop with beautiful local photography for sale. I never pass through Weed without stopping here. The owners are awesome, they have a great selection of shirts, sweatshirts and trinkets, and everything is priced very reasonably. You should definitely check it out if you're visiting the Shasta area. read more

Stopped through on our way home to Santa Rosa from Portland, and it was such a cute little place for some great souvenirs! Always wanted to stop and finally took the time. Really cool store, big selection of weed paraphernalia. (Gear not pipes) They had shirts, sweaters, shot glasses, postcards, and some of the coolest original artwork i've seen outside of a art studio in a long time. If I had a little bit more money I would've definitely been buying some of the beautiful pictures on the wall. The gentleman at the counter Stacey was also very informative and helpful. Mentioned that Yelp at you get a free shot glass with any T-shirt purchase. I will definitely be back to get some artwork in the future. Thanks guys! read more

Stopped by at the end of a road trip through part of Northern California and Oregon. I planned to spend the night in Weed, CA for the novelty of it but I never knew this little shop and the beautiful mural of the town with Mount Shasta overlooking the town would be so wonderful. I am not a gift shop person, but I love this gift shop. I didn't get the name of the gentleman that was working at the time but he gets an A+ in hospitality. Haven't tried the locally roasted coffee beans I purchased from here yet, but I'm sure I'll have to come back for more someday. read more

From what we could tell when passing through, the town of Weed doesn't have much going for it aside from having a really fun name. They're going to take that fun name though and turn it into brisk business. Nicest staff ever! Had a small problem with getting charged twice for the same shirt. When I called them back I spoke with Kevin and he was very helpful. He offered to give us our money back or send us another shirt . We opted to get another shirt, they paid for shipping and it arrived in two days. Though I was already happy with everything at this point there were a couple of stickers shipped as well and a personal note from Kevin saying sorry for the mix up have a great day. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and we are. Being a manager for 4 years I am impressed to see this level of customer service. Thanks weed store, and kevin! read more

Me and my family went in just to look around and get a good laugh. Stacey was hilarious, the place was super clean, and best of all they made you feel like you lived there your whole life. We stopped into town for some sh!ts and giggles and were recommended by some of the local firemen to check out The Weed Store. The owner was extremely friendly and was great about conversing and sharing stories with us. He is a local photographer and his work was beautiful. We took a picture with our car in front of the mural on the side of his store, before we even knew that he had taken that photo of Mt. Shasta himself. The store consists of anything with "Weed, CA" you can possibly imagine. Most are humorous and give you a good laugh, but there's some great memorabilia as well. This "pothole" in the road has a gimmick and it is it's name. How can you not pick up any touristy "this or thats" as you do a driveby through this town. Most people don't know that a town called Weed exists as they pass it on the freeway. Get off on the historical 99and it get you to Weed. My friends collects keychains and so I had to make this stop. The cheesier the better and there was a huge selection of this here. This is a pretty darn good souvenir shop cause I walked out with things I had no intention of getting. Check out the Starbucks-Weed t-shirt, bumper stickers, lighters, keychains and what nots. It's a fun store and you just can't help acknowledging that you were here. How many people do you know that have visited Weed?....OMG, you will have the most incredible view of Mt. Shasta from this location. It is so close that you feel you could touch it. Go down the few streets and see the beautiful artwork and sculptures in the parks and here and there...worth the detour. It is a goofy little town. "good for you" to the owner. You created a successful little enterprise, outside of the logging industry; and your a nice guy too. read more

You gotta stop and venture into this store. It's full of souvenirs playing off the town's name, you'll get kick out of it. The humor is all in good taste. The store is clean and well stocked with t-shirts, mugs, keychains, etc. The various t-shirts are of quality weight cotton. The gentlemen working the Saturday that I visited was quite engaging with all the customers. He had an outgoing personality which added to the shopping adventure. read more

After Weed, California had their big fire, i was living in Sacramento trying to get communities to help the locals here. I called Sacramento City Council and went online a LOT trying to get them some help. I knew that cash was needed by residents, as there is a limit to how many clothes, blankets and pieces of lumber they could get. a year later, I finally found myself in the area and parked the car and handed out a few coins to locals. Not socks, stuffed animals or sandwiches. Money. Oh. They grin a lot when you talk to them i like the people of Weed a lot. it would have been nice to live here. The Seed Store gift shop itself proved to be what i was looking for. i wanted things to take with me to remind me of this way cool part of California which too many people barrel through without stopping. They had great local crafts, clothing, and all sorts of things which made it impossible to just quickly go in and out again. Customer service was exceptional, as they had quite a few people in the place and took proper time with each and every customer. My real highlight experience came when this one man told me , after I asked , whom it was that would take cash from me to hand out as such to those who had lost their homes. it so happened that he was across the street. i asked if i could just leave money there and would the shop give it to him later. he cheerfully said "Sure1". i left the cash and gifts for my family and regretfully left.
