I recently had a mole on my leg that my dermatologist recommende…read mored removing for biopsy. I was a bit apprehensive because I had previously undergone a similar procedure on my back for a very small mole, which left a noticeable scar despite only requiring three stitches. This time, the mole on my leg was also very small, so I was hoping for a careful and minimally invasive procedure. However, while filling out the pre-procedure form, the nurse assisting me confused "left" with "right" and mentioned she was very tired at that point in the day. I remember thinking I hoped she would not be the one performing the procedure -- but she was. The result was disappointing: such a tiny mole ended up leaving a scar that required four stitches that looked more like veterinary stitches, or when you mend clothes, very poorly done.I I even consulted my GP to ask if the stitches could be redone for a better cosmetic outcome, but was advised against it. Now I am left with large, unattractive stitches which will leave a scar. Beyond the technical aspect, I also found the overall attitude and communication lacking empathy and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience left me with the certainty that I will not return to this dermatology department for any further procedures. It is a pity, as patient care and compassion are just as important as medical treatment.

You should try and book as early as possible though as the appointments seem to get snapped up pretty quickly (it is possible to book a same day appointment if you call as soon as they open) The surgery is fresh and modern in decor, perhaps more importantly it is also very clean. As well as medical services, they also have a dentist office located on site, their website is very simple to use and contains a lot of info listing what they offer and prices etc. I guess the only reason i marked this a 3 star was because i felt a bit disappointed (and perhaps this is more in relation to the general medical system in Ireland rather than this specific surgery) but when I returned approximately 2-3 weeks after my initial visit with the same complaint which hadn't cleared up... i had to pay full price again for the second visit.... Perhaps it was my own fault for leaving it so long after the first visit.... It was an expensive lesson to learn especially when you had the cost of prescriptions on top

They were able to fit me in for an appointment and having not been here before the registration process was easy and within a few minutes I was being called by the doctor. I found him tentative and thorough, thankfully 3 days out and I feel 100% better! They take credit card payments which is great, it's a complete medical centre with GP's, Travel Medical Bureau, Skin and Laser Treatments all available. It's a professional set up, not your run of the mill doctors surgery.

It's on the top floor over what appears to be the top floor! Easily missed! Say you park on level -2, it's a long way up! That said you don't have to park on -2! The bad news - the main problem here is how late they run, usually 40-60 minutes after your time, this is the case day or evening and I must have been a dozen times to the surgery. The good news - The Doctor is always the same doctor. It's really a 1 Dr practice and the hours this poor man does! The staff will tell you it's non stop for him. He's a foreign gentleman and might seem to be approaching your care in a different way to other GP's, but to be honest he's entirely on the ball and very straight to the point. He's also frank. He is educated on meds and he sincerely wishes you well. He's a gentleman. He gets full marks. So, only 3 stars because of the delays, otherwise it would be 5 stars. All said, I would recommend this surgery Oh and there's a dentist, counsellor and a few other practitioners too! Pharmacy below too.

Get in, staff is friendly, explain what the problem is, nurse, physician, exams, etc, etc, process is smooth. Clinic is not crowded and you don't have to wait a lot between steps. Leaves with diagnosis, prescription and problem pretty much solved.

As we have VHI we decided to try out one of their walk in centres and boy were we impressed. The receptionist took our details and apologised that we might have to wait up to ten minutes to be seen!!! I was thrilled with how pleasant the staff were, how clean the place was. We were seen very quickly by a doctor, xrayed, bandaged with an appointment for physio made all within an hour. BLISS will deffo be using it again thank you VHI for saving my sanity. Unfortunately it is not cheap for non VHI members but when you measure up the cost of sitting in A&E for 15 hours as opposed to paying out 150euro (a night on the town) then I'd forgo the night on the town.

As soon as I had made decent progress he suggested I reduce the visits and keep up the excercises. I think is very important that your physio is conscious of your pocket I have been to one in the past and it was like setting up a standing order. All in I was very happy with all aspects of the service. You do have to do the excercises by the way or keep the money in your pocket :)

Trying to get one of the same day appointments is a bit like joining a club as they require so much information that it feels like you may not cut the grade. Fortunately, they gave me an appointment. For €60 I would have expected my appointment to run on time but it didn't. I was delayed over 15 minutes, but the doctor did apologise when he eventually saw me. The doctor was good and to the point. He asked me to call after a week to see how I was and he took my call and kept me talking for a while to make sure I had improved. I needed a referral letter for a consultant which I received 33days after my consultation with the doctor which is infuriating as I could not get my appointment without this letter so a condition I've had since July was not assessed until November, but such is Ireland. I also found it unusual that he would only write a referral for one consultant as previous doctors have given me a blank letter to send to as many hospitals as I can to get the earliest appointment. Overall I would not recommend the centre unless you are really stuck. €60 is more than I usually pay for a doctor and the service was not as good as I am used to in The Temple Bar Medical Centre.

I was probed by the ED doctor as to why I didn't go to my GP. The GP would have sent me to the ED anyway because a contrast CT scan is one of the only way to rule our in RHC diagnose an Aortic Dissection. I was shocked when I was handed a form to bring for a CT contrast scan & told walk down to the radiology department without any staff to aid or assist. Dreadful, telling a patient who may be experiencing an AD to walk unaided down two floors. Anything could have happened to me & without medical supervision. Aortic Dissection is so often misdiagnosed can lead to a fatality. I am currently sitting here Waiting to be called for my scan in pain and worried incase I am dissecting again. :(
