Downtown is the best spot for The Well. We visited them while they were on White Lane, but this location makes so much more sense. The seating is well laid out. We chose the mid level tickets and sat in the side booth area. We were able to see the stage very well. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to the show. I think we will head there a little earlier next time so ordering is easier. Jake was our server and got our drinks right away. The food took a little longer, and I think our order may have even been misplaced, but we were there for the laughs and the food ultimately made it to us. There were 4 of us, and we got fried pickles, crispy chicken sliders, fish tacos, margaritas, mule and punch line. Cute menu item names! We were drawn to purchase tickets when we saw Caroline Rhea would be performing. She was very cute and funny. We loved it. Patrick and CJ did a great job opening for her. Keep the laughs coming! Went to see Yannis Pappas and I seriously laughed the entire time! The Well has been hosting some great comedians lately and I'm here for it! The lights, the crowd, the set up, the vibes were perfect to just relax and enjoy good laugh. Last night we attended the Yannis Pappas comedy show at The Well Comedy Club. The employees working the door are very courteous and provide clear communication about club rules. Our server also provided great service. The club does have a 2 beverage/food minimum per person and automatically adds a 20% gratuity to your bill. I was pleasantly surprised that the outside of the club where you wait to be seated was clean and well kept as it is located in downtown Bakersfield. Came opening night at their new location and my friend and I had so much fun!!! We caught the late show, and it was still a packed house. I thought the server was great, and the place had a nice flow with great/ fun energy. Rob Schneider stopped by for a few minutes, and that was cool! All normal rules apply and stated no heckling or you'd get kicked out.To no surprise there were a few ladies who forgot they were at a comedy club and couldn't keep quiet! They didn't ruin our time but must've been quite embarrassing for them as they had to leave. Lol. The drinks and food were good, the only small issue is that the bathrooms seemed to be easily clogged. But I figure that's a downtown issue not necessarily the establishment. I won tickets from Precious 95.7 FM radio station yesterday, and had my first visit last night! The Well has a really nice space; it's been remolded inside since previous businesses, and has ample seating. Most of the comics were funny (headliner Feather Da'Wyz killed it), the waitresses were on point, and my food was good (got fried mushrooms & a Cadillac margarita)! Only thing I didn't care for was the 20% gratuity, but hey- it is what it is, and again, luckily the staff did a great job, overall! read more

The Ambiance is good, greeter was great, when you walk in they seat you. We got there at 6, and VIPs go in first then they let general tickets in. You have to order at least 2 items. We had water and nachos. The nachos were not the greatest, lots of velvetta cheese and lil bit of I think beans, never tasted the pico. My biggest gripe would be the seating. They tell you not to move the chairs but after people have drinks and walk around and mingle they move their chairs and I had little leg room. The chair in front of me was maybe 4 inches away from my knees and the guy to my other side was bumping elbows. I had a hard time trying to stretch my legs. I'm only 5 feet. We went yesterday to go see Russell peters and let me tell ya, this was bonkers! We got drinks, but no food. The service staff were phenomenal and would check up pretty regularly. We ended up getting VIP and sat literally as close to the performer as you could, if you could pay the vip cost do so. Decided to try the comedy club last night for the five dollar tickets once we arrived. The tickets turned out to be $20 for two tickets. The false advertisement didn't bother me I had purchased a draft beer for my mom end up being 20$ with a 20% tip which I would've never left a 20% tip because the server was extremely rude I Wasn't aware of the two drink minimum per person. Until I asked for a refill on my water which turn into a back-and-forth with the server I was denied water was told I had to pay for two drinks per person well I don't drink alcohol or soda so it was kinda annoying getting denied water when it is 100 degrees in Bakersfield ca all around not a great experience read more

1st time experience at a comedy club in Bakersfield & it was good. The venue is small but nice. They had 2 entrance lines, VIP or regular. We actually waited in our car because it was a cool evening, thinking we have a VIP front row table reserved, but advise for future VIP ticket holders, VIP could have you in the far corner yet " but since it's against the stage it's "front row" seating. We got lucky & still ended up in the front row at the corner. We had friends who were 1st in line VIP who weren't in the front row. TBH save your extra $$ & get a regular priced seat cause all the seats have a good view. I really like how they set up the bar line. BTW they card everyone all ages, kind of feels nice lol. They don't wait on you, you do have to wait in a line to get to the bar. A hostest tells you which of the bar lines is open next. I really liked it because you're told which bar tender to go to & no one is cutting in front of you or ignoring you like a regular bar. We don't drink alcohol, but the Mock-tails were great & very reasonably priced. Not sure why, but the people sitting next of us got moved to a different table, in the back, weird since they were vip, so we moved to front center. The host comedian Andrew something wasn't that great, could have done without him, but Cj & Caroline were hilarious! I laughed so hard. From the atmosphere to the staff to the food, all mixed with laughs, being here is guaranteed a great time! There is lots of parking available. There are more than a dozen tables, the staff are the ones who sit you. So, depending on where you are at sat, you may sit with strangers, just fyi. The chairs are not very comfortable. My husband said the chair was hurting his back, but the chairs were hurting my bum. The menu is simple but still has lots of options to choose from. The cooks last night were a bit over generous on the garlic salt for my liking. The turkey sliders and the fries had a pungent garlic taste. The staff was great, from the door man to the bartenders to the hype men. Dan was hilarious. His material was relatable, so I was busting up! The main man of the night, Erik Escobar, was great! He was so animated and gave out such a great vibe like he knew you. Seeing how funny everyone was last night makes me want to see more funny people! I've been here twice! I love this venue, it's not too small but very intimate. They play all different types of music, so everyone can take a listen. We were first in the GA line for a comedy show and as a token of gratitude they placed us right next to the stage. I was taken back by how sweet that action was. They have a full bar and keep about 3-4 lines open, and they also have a kitchen! I'm obsessed with their fried pickles and house sauce, spicy and just perfect. I tried their pesto sandwich, and it was good but I wish they put less Mayo as it was over powering. It does come with a decent amount of fries . Their drinks are good and decently priced. We were here 2/1/25 to hear the comedy of Gianmarco Soresi. Food and drinks were good. The Well has excellent organizational skills. The doorman and interior staff had a process to eliminate bottlenecks and problems inside the venue. They were clear with their expectations and rules. The room was packed out. The opening act of Skyler was really funny. Mr. Soresi was funnier and very timely. I learned a new term that I will not share at the present time but it was spot on. read more

This was my first time coming to The Well and the hubby and I had a blast! We were blown away by how great the place was. The ambiance is cool and fun while also making you feel comfortable. We had a VIP booth and it was nice. We also ordered the fries and fried pickles since we had already eaten before our 930 show. The food was decent though a little salty. What we really enjoyed was our drinks. I had The Green Room and my husband had the Old Fashioned. Both were delicious and pretty to look at. I will say, they left us waiting outside longer than they advertised. They said doors opened at 9 and we didn't get in until after 915. It was cold out and a there was a drizzle so it would have been nice to get in on time but I think it's because of the meet and greet after went longer than expected. We heard two openers and then the main comedian. The openers were funny enough but Zoltan stole the show. He had us in stitches and we loved the crowd work and how much he talked about our town. The owner also welcomed everyone and we appreciated that he supports the military and did a great job of introducing one the place. As a young Bakersfieldian woman, I was excited to visit The Well Comedy Club, hoping for a night of laughter and entertainment. Unfortunately, my experience left me deeply disappointed and concerned about the club's lack of sensitivity towards women and minorities. From the moment I walked in, I felt uneasy. The lineup consisted almost entirely of male comedians, with only one token female performer. This imbalance set the tone for the evening, as joke after joke seemed to rely on outdated, misogynistic stereotypes. It was disheartening to hear humor that belittled women and perpetuated harmful gender norms. Instead of clever, insightful comedy, we were subjected to tired punchlines that reinforced the very prejudices we should be moving away from. Even more troubling was the blatant racism woven throughout many of the sets. Several comedians used offensive racial stereotypes as the basis for their humor, alienating and offending members of the audience. Rather than fostering an inclusive environment where everyone could enjoy a good laugh, The Well Comedy Club seemed intent on catering to a narrow, insensitive demographic. Comedy has the power to bring people together and challenge societal norms, but The Well Comedy Club misses this opportunity entirely. Instead of pushing boundaries in a thoughtful way, the club relies on cheap shots and offensive humor that exclude rather than include. It's clear that the club needs to seriously reconsider its approach if it hopes to attract a diverse and progressive audience. Until The Well Comedy Club makes a genuine effort to promote inclusivity and respect in its programming, I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone seeking a fun and enlightened night out. Can't show you a picture of the food as the lights were low....but, I will say the fried pickles were terrible and overly salted. The fried mushrooms: were either rinsed in water (not suppose to be cause they soak up water) or drenched in oil....literally dripping with liquid ....the white sauce was watered down... the chicken wings needed seasoning...no salt what so ever . I'm sorry, but do better . The only service provided was the table clean-up...not used to this, but oh well. Ambiance: I will not complain as it was acceptable. The top headliner: Quinn Dale was pretty funny....his girl friend sucked big time bananas as she was not funny at all...as a matter of fact, she seemed racist...and I can take a joke...she just sucked big time! read more

A wonderful local comedy spot, offering a full bar, including a small menu of mocktails which we appreciate, they even offer some food offerings, mostly burgers, fries, and etc. I'd like to see an expanded menu with some more dinner type offerings, the current menus more closely resembles a lunch menu to me. We shared a basket of fries that had a fun seasoning on them and made for a welcome snack during the show. The doors opening early offered an opportunity to meet new friends in the open setting and relax with a beverage. I appreciate how clean and open everything is. Some comedy clubs look pretty scary once the lights are on, not the case here, it's not your typical smoke filled poorly lit room with sticky floors, very clean and welcoming, a comfortable environment to enjoy a show at. We saw Zoltan on this visit, which was a great show. By the end of the evening my cheeks hurt from laughing all night! Thank you to The Well Comedy Club for bringing great comedy talent to Bakersfield! Oh, be sure to drop the extra money for the VIP tables, their affordable, and worth the modest premium. The general admission seats didn't look to bad to me, I don't think there's a bad seat in the house since it's not a huge venue.
