Such a great show with Steve Furey, and others! It was well organized, as we were escorted to our seats and met our waitress right away. It truly felt like a comedy club, with the stand and dim lighting. Everything was great, will definitely attend more shows!

Came opening night at their new location and my friend and I had so much fun!!! We caught the late show, and it was still a packed house. I thought the server was great, and the place had a nice flow with great/ fun energy. Rob Schneider stopped by for a few minutes, and that was cool! All normal rules apply and stated no heckling or you'd get kicked out.To no surprise there were a few ladies who forgot they were at a comedy club and couldn't keep quiet! They didn't ruin our time but must've been quite embarrassing for them as they had to leave. Lol. The drinks and food were good, the only small issue is that the bathrooms seemed to be easily clogged. But I figure that's a downtown issue not necessarily the establishment. We will be back for sure!! Thanks for a fun night

I won tickets from Precious 95.7 FM radio station yesterday, and had my first visit last night! The Well has a really nice space; it's been remolded inside since previous businesses, and has ample seating. Most of the comics were funny (headliner Feather Da'Wyz killed it), the waitresses were on point, and my food was good (got fried mushrooms & a Cadillac margarita)! Only thing I didn't care for was the 20% gratuity, but hey- it is what it is, and again, luckily the staff did a great job, overall!

We went yesterday to go see Russell peters and let me tell ya, this was bonkers! We got drinks, but no food. The service staff were phenomenal and would check up pretty regularly. We ended up getting VIP and sat literally as close to the performer as you could, if you could pay the vip cost do so. Enough about that let's talk about the reason we went, I took my buddy he just wanted to hangout he didn't know who was there or nothing. He said he came out with his head hurting from laughing so much! All in all perfect venue, very much upgraded from the last location, we will definitely go again!

Mmm, how shall I utter it... This house is most worthy of thy hours. A hearth-like warmth dwells within its walls, where calm spirits gather and laughter breathes easy. Upon crossing its threshold, I am as a moth drawn to a tender flame...Not one that scorches, but one that soothes and beckons, casting a golden glow upon all who enter. Here, time loosens its grip, and your troubles fall gently off your shoulders. I sense, in the weaving threads of fate, many untold shenanigans awaiting me... Here.. at this very Club. Thank you God, thank you Bakersfield, and thank you... The Gracious... Well Comedy Club.

1st time experience at a comedy club in Bakersfield & it was good. The venue is small but nice. They had 2 entrance lines, VIP or regular. We actually waited in our car because it was a cool evening, thinking we have a VIP front row table reserved, but advise for future VIP ticket holders, VIP could have you in the far corner yet " but since it's against the stage it's "front row" seating. We got lucky & still ended up in the front row at the corner. We had friends who were 1st in line VIP who weren't in the front row. TBH save your extra $$ & get a regular priced seat cause all the seats have a good view. I really like how they set up the bar line. BTW they card everyone all ages, kind of feels nice lol. They don't wait on you, you do have to wait in a line to get to the bar. A hostest tells you which of the bar lines is open next. I really liked it because you're told which bar tender to go to & no one is cutting in front of you or ignoring you like a regular bar. We don't drink alcohol, but the Mock-tails were great & very reasonably priced. Not sure why, but the people sitting next of us got moved to a different table, in the back, weird since they were vip, so we moved to front center. The host comedian Andrew something wasn't that great, could have done without him, but Cj & Caroline were hilarious! I laughed so hard. Cj made a joke about a neighboring building & I about lost it lol All & all it was a great evening & we'll gladly be back!

If it makes you giggle, laugh, smile..........do it again!

From the atmosphere to the staff to the food, all mixed with laughs, being here is guaranteed a great time! There is lots of parking available. There are more than a dozen tables, the staff are the ones who sit you. So, depending on where you are at sat, you may sit with strangers, just fyi. The chairs are not very comfortable. My husband said the chair was hurting his back, but the chairs were hurting my bum. The menu is simple but still has lots of options to choose from. The cooks last night were a bit over generous on the garlic salt for my liking. The turkey sliders and the fries had a pungent garlic taste. The staff was great, from the door man to the bartenders to the hype men. Dan was hilarious. His material was relatable, so I was busting up! The main man of the night, Erik Escobar, was great! He was so animated and gave out such a great vibe like he knew you. Seeing how funny everyone was last night makes me want to see more funny people! This was our second time coming to The Well, and with the complimentary comedy shows every Tuesday and Wednesday, with specials on food and drinks, why not make The Well Comedy Club a weekly date event!!

we had such a great time. Everything was so much more organized than we thought. It was their second night open they seated us in a great seat bring the food and drinks to you. Everything was great. The nachos were a little burnt, but honestly didn't mind cause we had such a great time. The show was amazing. Sad we missed Rob Schneider.

I've been here twice! I love this venue, it's not too small but very intimate. They play all different types of music, so everyone can take a listen. We were first in the GA line for a comedy show and as a token of gratitude they placed us right next to the stage. I was taken back by how sweet that action was. They have a full bar and keep about 3-4 lines open, and they also have a kitchen! I'm obsessed with their fried pickles and house sauce, spicy and just perfect. I tried their pesto sandwich, and it was good but I wish they put less Mayo as it was over powering. It does come with a decent amount of fries . Their drinks are good and decently priced. The parking is shared but there's plenty! To more laughs ~~

I've caught at least a dozen shows here since finding out about this local gem in high school. From musicals to plays, every show has been amazing. They can make me crack up laughing, want to boogie on down with them during a dance break, and maybe even shed a tear. I can confidently say I would go to any show they put on. A friend could ask me if I wanted to go to the Empty Space tonight, and without knowing what was playing I would say yes. Consistently very talented casts! Phenomenal stage design! Great directing! Fun choreography! Lighting and audio teams always do a great job! It is always clear the whole team are fully invested in the material and bringing out the best in each other. Top tier local talent all around. The Empty Space is more than a place to catch amazing local theater. They also showcase art from local artists in their art gallery which acts as their lobby. I recommend getting there early to enjoy the artwork and grab their super affordable snacks. After being away for a while, I was excited to attend my first show at their new location, Dracula: A Comedy Of Terrors. And a bust out loud comedy it was. Phenomenal show as usual. I'm not sure I could've gotten a better welcome back to The Empty Space. Thank you to the whole cast and crew who made that show happen. Their new location is super nice and spacious. The old location had its charm, but their new location is much larger and the seating has extra leg room, which is always appreciated. Many longtime fans of the Empty Space will recall how the old building immersed the audience was in the show due to the close proximity to the performers, and how many of their productions would utilize the space in creative ways for stand out moments. I'm glad to say they do a great job utilizing the new space in a similar manner. When you walk into the theater you actually walk onto the stage initially which provides an all encompassing immediate immersion into whatever world you're about to enjoy an awesome story in. For those thinking of auditioning to be a cast member, I actually had the pleasure of being in their 2016 production of "In The Heights" which took place in their previous location and highly recommend it. It was a super fun experience. They're very kind and welcoming.

I had no idea this town had that kind of talent, and I started seeing their shows in the back of a restaurant way across town. They would totally involve their audience in the process, and every show was completely different from the last. With everything made up right on the spot like in "Who's Line is it Anyway?" only better. Then they got their own venue and started putting on classes. I signed up for the first one, and took that series of classes and then the intermediate classes that came after that. I can't even begin to tell you how fun that was or how much I learned. I even got invited to take part in an improv competition which was an absolute BLAST. Some shows are family friendly and some are not, so if that's important to you, look carefully at what they're offering the night/time you want to go (www.ciacomedy.com). If you have a medical condition or have had a surgery and laughing would cause you harm, then wait until you heal up a bit, because trust me--you're going to laugh. At $5.00 per show, it is, in my opinion, the most fun you can have in Bakersfield without someone calling the cops.

Festivals by the dozens are cropping up every weekend, Food Fairs, and Home Shows. Our arts and music district are always putting on something fabulous. As for our local theater? You'd be hard pressed to find a weekend when there's not something showing. Gus' Garage was a totally new experience to me. I can honestly say that up until Gus' I've never been to a real live magic show. Only the one's on TV that make you wonder, 'is that magic or is it "TV Magic"?' So when I was told we'd be attending this variety show/magic show I was stoked. Something new and nearby! The location isn't what you may expect; over in Rosedale, as far away from the flourishing arts district as possible. It's inside a warehouse type garage - very unexpected. Parking is mostly on-street and no issue at all. Inside, the building is industrial chic. There's no real ticket window, and money is taken out of an old school cash box. Once paid, you make your way around to the back where the space opens up to the rafters. Half a dozen chairs or so line each row. A packed house would be maybe 30-40 or so folks. The show itself was entertaining. Perhaps a little silly and corny, but it's good old fashioned fun. There's a wide variety of talent and shows vary week to week, so definitely check them out. If you're looking for something totally new and different, check out this quirky show.

My advice, go to Moms Place first if you are wanting some. The waffles were ok but the two you get are the size of the bottom of a Stanley tumbler. Sprinkled with powdered sugar to make them tastier I guess. The chicken (fingers) were 80% breading and 20% meat. No flavor. No seasoning. If I were in charge I'd give you 5-6 French toast sticks instead, to make them easier to dip. No silverware is given so you really don't want to smother your syrup on everything. It's more of a dipping option. I'd have taken pics but obviously it's darker during the movie. I miss when their kitchen was top notch and not $60 for two small bland meals, drink and a tip.

We found parking quickly, check-in was fast and easy, and the theater itself appeared clean and well-maintained. The auditorium was a bit on the smaller side, but it still felt comfortable and wasn't overly crowded, which I actually appreciated. Before the movie started, we made our mandatory concession stand stop. I was especially excited when I spotted kettle popcorn, but unfortunately they told me they were already sold out even though our movie was fairly early in the day. That was definitely a letdown, but luckily I still enjoy classic buttery movie theater popcorn, so I was able to pivot without too much heartbreak. I also liked that the drink station had touchscreen machines with plenty of soda and juice options to choose from. My mom decided to get an ICEE, but she was a little disappointed when she went back for a refill during the movie and found the machine was out of service. Between the missing kettle popcorn and the ICEE issue, the concession experience wasn't quite as smooth as we had hoped. One of my favorite parts of the visit was definitely the reclining seats. Being able to kick back, put my feet up, and get comfortable made the movie even more enjoyable. I also appreciated that the auditorium wasn't freezing cold like some theaters tend to be. As for Obsession, I personally didn't find it all that scary, but it was entertaining and suspenseful enough to keep me engaged throughout the film. More importantly, it was a fun way to spend quality time with my family. Overall, we had a really nice movie day together. While there were a couple of minor hiccups with the concession area, the clean theater, comfortable seating, easy parking, and convenient location made for an enjoyable experience. Since this is the closest theater to my family's home I would definitely come back to catch another movie the next time I'm in town.
