I put off getting a dress altered for my daughter because I didn't have a 'go-to' shop. I do now! Wendy made the dress look amazing just when pinning it to get the sizing right. And had it stitched and beading repaired at the seams in just a week. She also got the wedding dress bag (with gussets for the big ole tulle skirt) that we needed to transport the dress to/from competitions. At the final fitting, she even tweaked the hook & eye at the top of the zipper. We'll definitely be back whenever we need alterations. I will not hesitate to recommend The Werk Shoppe.

The original dress (my mom was very excited that it still fit 33 years later

She always did a great job on my alterations! I believe this business is closed now. It was located downtown Rochester, so very handy!

I highly recommend The Werk Shoppe for any alterations. My daughter had her wedding dress altered here and it turned out wonderful.

I was desperate to find a place I could drop off a black suit to be ready for a family funeral. The…read morefuneral would require some unalterable travel, therefore, an exact time existed for which it had to be ready on an upcoming Monday. It was already later on a Saturday afternoon in July 2020 when the virus was rising and affecting businesses differently, making it essential to make real, old-fashioned phone calls. It was my only option, other than driving around everywhere, or depending on oft-erroneous times posted online, to suss out hours of operation during this devastating time. I called four other dry cleaning establishments in the Rochester Hills area before I landed at this GEM of a business. That Saturday, I walked in the Martinizing location, not calling the fifth establishment of the day, because I happened to be running errands right near the place. They had an "open" sign, clearly visible. The woman who greeted me, and I will return to find out her name, made me feel calm and relaxed and cared about. I have no idea how she did it, because I gave her little information to go on, but she took the facts I did give her and from that, made me feel warm. That's the most important part of this, besides that the place was COVID-19 regulation complaint. It was a pleasant surprise after having researched four other places for dry cleaning that afternoon, that they were the first to have regular Sunday hours. Additionally, they were open until 7PM Monday, which was helpful and accommodating to my schedule. The man who assisted me at pick up had a similar professionalism that the woman possessed, and adjusted to my level of friendliness and talkative, or not-so-talkative, nature and moods. Impeccable manners. I noticed and appreciated this. The reason I am writing this review though, and investing my time and energy to do this as a single mom of two teenagers, is because the woman with whom I dropped the suit off on Saturday, responded to my situation with the funeral when I brought up COVID-19, and she opened up with information about losses that other local business people nearby had experienced. She was sensitive to my situation, and simultaneously, not overly emotional. She was genuine and cared about the community in general and the business community around her. Nothing about the exchange was political. She was a good human being. It showed. She had restraint and when I opened up, she did just enough. It shined because she had a heart for this community. I hope she sees this because it's wonderful to have renewed faith in humankind when you come across genuine caring, not just some social media like or dopamine hit off a heart icon. The dry cleaning was perfect. I wish I had photos, but it was for a funeral and so it wasn't that kind of an event. I will exclusively maintain my dry cleaning at this location in Rochester Hills.

Had an invisible zipper installed, these are a real pain to do. The tailor only charged $15.00…read more I checked around. ..that's a good price. Next month a $30.00 bundle is 30% off plus today they gave me a $5.00 off coupon and can be used with the special..yippee. ..
