My bf and I thoroughly enjoyed the Original San Francisco walking tour with Vicky. We received an…read moreemail the day before from her stating where exactly the tour started, her contact info, and additional logistics. She was very kind, informative, and engaging. She checked in with the group often to ensure we could hear and understand her and provided clear directions to the next stop on the tour. The tour was really interesting and a pretty flat 2-mile walk, given the slope of some of the hills in SF. There were noteable stops along the way like the SF's first saloon and "the living room" of Chinatown. These tours are pay-what-you-want at the end. We didn't have cash and the website said they'd accept card; we ended up paying Vicky via PayPal.

We…read morehave been to San Francisco many times over the years but still learned much about its interesting history thanks to Britt's enthusiastic and knowledgable presentation during our tour. Tidbits, such as the existence of a watering hole in the 19th century called the Fierce Grizzly (so named because it had a grizzly chained next to the door) and how today's Chinatown architecture came about after the 1906 earthquake, made our walk memorable and our time with Britt go by fast. The only (slight) disappointment came when we stopped by Caffe Trieste but didn't have time to enjoy their delicious espresso even though a coffee stop was mentioned in the tour description. We highly recommend this walking tour.

5 star no doubt! Where else would you go and see absolutely stunning views of the City? Okay, let…read moreme just add emphasis to "stunning"! Because seriously, this IS what you will see when you take an Urban Hike tour! I never imagined feeling like this, like I'm enamored with San Francisco, seriously doing this hike took my love for San Francisco to another level! For all you beginner hikers, get ready! You're in for a joyful ride (or should I say walk) LOL! If I had to rate this hike, it would be easy to moderate. In the beginning, you are going to sweat...after you pass Twin Peaks, the rest is totally easy! Trust me; you will learn A LOT about San Francisco that you didn't know. Even for all of you old timers that have been living in SF for "years"...Yes, you will learn a lot as well! Urban hike gets you really acquainted with the City, taking it to a whole new level. This tour guarantees beautiful views of the City. Get ready, because you'll be treated to the lovely views looking from Twins Peak, roam through the hidden landmarks and staircases such as Pembleton Street, Tank Hill, Sutro, through a hidden forest trail; OMG, the views everywhere you go are so dreamlike. Did I mention we even spotted goats?! PRICELESS! I was able to do this hike on one of San Francisco's most beautiful days. The views were clear and the weather was perfect! My tour guide was awesome and the people I was with made the hike 10x better! So, go ahead....Open up that Groupon app (dammit, download it if you have to!) But you seriously need to hurry up and book this tour! You will be blown away by how much of a great time you will have! (Just make sure you thank me later (smiles).

Let me help you out; instead of cryptic and inaccurate written directions just plug this into Google Maps: 37°21'51.6"N 122°10'37.3"W https://maps.app.goo.gl/VJx6FYUZNqcBu5177 Done. No questions, no geocaching hunt to find the meeting spot with zero service. Great website, so-so experience. In summary I don't feel it is worth the $87. I've participated in free foraging events that were equivalent and in some ways better than this one. If you are a beginner who knows absolutely nothing about foraging, this might be a good one to go to. A bit misleading to say "suitable for novice and veteran foragers alike." I learned a few new things but nothing justifying the time spent driving to the location and paying the $$$. I like the mission of this project but was expecting a bit more. Best of luck to the forageSF team.

Steve made the day so special - he is enthusiastic and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make the day special for us. We met at a dock and he walked us through the fishing process (which involved throwing crab nets over the side of the dock). We caught about 150 crabs which he cooked for us in a nearby garden along with veggies, potatoes, corn, garlic bread, dessert, and more. I can't recommend Steve and ForageSF enough and can't wait to do the clamming experience with Steve in the future.
