Jay was AMAZING and so insightful with not only Victorian architecture, but also the history of SF. We were going to do a bus tour of the city and play tourist, but instead decided on a private tour with Jay and I'm so glad we did. His knowledge of the city - from era to era, the great fire in SF, economics of the city - it's all so vast and incredible. He is also very personable and kind. This is well worth the tour!!!

My fiancé and I were referred to Jay for a unique experience while in San Francisco and we both unanimously agreed this was the BEST part of our trip! Jay was so knowledgeable about the history and architecture of SF and the walking tour was a perfect route to highlight the old and new architecture in the neighborhoods. The route was very walkable and ended at a spot with some great restaurants nearby! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a short history of SF, beautiful architecture and a nice short walk and Jay will make sure you have a great time!

Our guide, John, was extremely hard to hear (he kept moving around so if you thought you found a good spot, you'd quickly realize you did not), did not really seem to have a knack for storytelling (I was really invested in this and still had a hard time paying attention to him), and after telling him we needed to find a spot for a bathroom, he walked us several blocks to a cash only cafe that had the most claustrophobic, humid bathroom we could've found. It seems that we skipped the cocktail bar stops (or maybe they occurred once we left, which was approximately at 7:30). While six in the group stuck it out, that was the tipping point for two of us and we left the tour early. According to what was listed on the website, we were expecting something engaging, fun, and spooky: This was NOT as advertised.
