I am rarely that impressed by Westin brand, but this one is exception, real gem! Everything went as close to perfect as it gets. Got good deal through SPG Cash+ Points program. We stayed 2 nights on a short stopover in Dublin. Got acknowledged my Gold SPG status with early check-in and complimentary upgrade. I requested a quiet location. Word of advice: if you are sensitive to noise, request the room facing beautiful enclosed Atrium, rather than very noisy street. They even serve Afternoon Tea in the Atrium/Courtyard. This Westin has all the right ingredients: very good central location (close to Trinity College, and Temple Bar areas) tasteful common areas, and lobby, cool bar downstairs, competent and friendly service, and of course gorgeous rooms with marble bathrooms, excellent bed, and nice furnishings. Couldn't find any shortcomings, and I usually find faults with most of the hotels. Would love to be back there sooner, rather than later! read more

We stayed for two nights and it was excellent. We were upgraded to the Oscar Wilde suite thanks to our Platinum status. The setup was a bit awkward with part of the room (office area) being in a loft connected by a spiral staircase. It was pretty much useless space, but made us feel like ballers nonetheless. The nightly turn down service was such a nice amenity; it was wonderful coming back to the room after a night out to a clean, restocked room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The concierge took time to look into other places that may have been showing the Mcgregor vs Meyweather fight that we may not have found. Breakfast in the morning had many nice options with fresh food from local producers and the buffet was kept clean and tidy. Other little amenities that really made our stay comfortable were the shower poufs, robes, slippers, toothbrush/toothpaste, disposal razor/shaving cream, lavender essential oil for the pillows, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, bath salts, and bottles of water. The little bathroom amenities do not seem like a big deal until you stay at place that does not provide lotion, conditioner or robes and then you really miss having them available. Our one criticism would be that the shower really did not do a good job at keeping the water in. Left us with a wet bathroom floor each morning. read more

Friday Night Sala at the Westin Hotel. It's down stairs in the basement. Gets quite hot and stuffy but at the back there's seating. The entrance is full on as you are greeted by experienced dancers strutting their stuff. Amazing to watch! Friendly crowd. ** Review of Afternoon Tea in the Atrium ** 4 of us had booked and were looking forward to it. We looked over the menus - both the " Traditional" and " Peculiar" are the same price and asked what the difference was - we were told the food options varied with The Peculiar being not quite as sweet, a little more alternative and not including sandwiches. And it come with Mojito in a teapot! We all ordered that. The food was lovely, and the setting is bright. The service however was dreadfully slow throughout from start to finish. But the really annoying thing was when we got the bill they had charged almost E16 for 2 coffees & a tea - which we thought were included! When we mentioned this, the waitress just shrugged and said "no"... So just be aware - they could really make it much clearer on the menu. read more

There are some wonderful and much cheaper 4 and 5 star hotels (boutique even) in Dublin that put this place to shame honestly. My girlfriend and I found the rooms old and small (even by euro standards). EVERYTHING was extremely expensive. The road noise was crazy. The Location was fantastic. My girlfriend got food poisoning there, the only food we didn't share that day was at the hotel. The hotel "investigated" and their results basically said "We didn't get things from you that we never asked you for so it must not have been our hotel". We lost 2 days of our trip, were given some starwood points (not enough for even a free night at anywhere worthwhile) and were told to shove off. Won't be returning ever, not sure I'm going to waste my time with starwood. read more

Worst hotel we have ever stayed at!!!!! Paid for one of the best suites, only to find construction on our balcony at 7am.. pressuring washing 2 feet away while I'm being woken up. Was never told the hotel was being remodeled! Also the food is terrible, tried the steak and a few other entrees and let's just say... we left their starving and disgusted. Be aware this place is terrible and we canceled our second night stay here so that we wouldn't have to deal with the issues that were brought to our attention. The Atrium cafe is a little oasis, I love it so. Built on the first floor of what was once the building's courtyard and roofed over with glass, it's a real treat to have tea or a bite here. Of course, a pot of tea for one costs €5.50 but how and ever! It comes with tea leaves, beautifully presented, and there is a small selection of biscuits which are perfect for dippage. Well worth stopping off for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. read more

This Hotel has the perfect location for those that visit Dublin. It is a short walking distance to the Temple Bar area for food, drinks and music, a short walk to the hiostorical sites such as the GPO and is right next to Trinity College and the Book of Kells. and Grafton Street and other great shopping are also just a very short walk. The staff was always friendly and professional. On my last trip, we arrived at 10:00am after an overnight flight from Chicago. We were quite tired and the hotel was booked. The staff worked to get us in our room almost 2 hours before check-in time. It was great to get in a nap. read more

The Westin made for the perfect stay on a recent bachelor party to Dublin. The location is ideal and well within walking distance of the best restaurants, pubs and attractions. The rooms are modern, clean and well appointed; and the staff is courteous, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have a world class experience. An added perk is The Mint bar located in the lower level of the hotel. Food and drinks are extremely good here, and the bar attracts more upscale local clientele from what I could gather. read more

I'm a long time Marriott customer with lifetime gold and titanium elite status with the Brand. I found this location to be sub par for the Westin line. Staff was less than helpful and slow in responding to all requests and management took over 72 hours to respond directly to concerns. This brand is supposed to be a premium hotel and this location does not live up to advertised service levels. The list of issues I encountered is too long to rehash. I'll just say there are better hotels of greater value to choose in the area. If you wish to travel brilliantly as one of the brand's tag lines implores, avoid this location. read more

The rooms are modern and very comfortable with large bathrooms and lots of counter space for toiletries. The staff was the highlight of our stay. Always very friendly and helpful. When we checked out and arrived at the airport, I realized I left my diamond ring in the bathroom. Irena sent someone up to the room, found the ring and sent it in a cab to the airport so I could get it back before heading back to the states. WOW. How honest and kind. The hotel is perfectly located just across the street from Temple Bar and down the street from Trinity College and the main shopping area. Despite being in the center of all the action in Dublin, and the rooms are very quiet and very comfortable. This was my 2nd stay at this hotel. I liked the beds so much because they felt like tottaly radical. They were so comfy that I felt like taking them with me. I also liked the whole exterior of the hotel. It was so breath taking. At first we were not happy with our room, very small and it seemed like we had no windows...we almost turned around and upgraded, we originally thought we had booked a king....but our little hobbit house of a room ended up being very cozy, with a great shower and a skylight that we later discovered! I went to the Westin with my friend for Sunday Brunch. They have a selection of soups, meats, veg, and pasta and they also have a selection of deserts including chocolate, cheesecakes and a very extravagent chocolate fountain with fruits and marshmallows to dip in. I've stayed in other Dublin hotels on my numerous business trips to Dublin, but I would have to declare this hotel to be the best one for tourists because of its location. It is right next to the Temple Bar and Trinity College. It is few blocks north of the Grafton shopping district and St. Stephen's Green (Park). It is a few blocks south of another shopping district located across the quay. In other words, it is centrally located to most tourist destinations around Dublin and has convenient access to various public transportation systems. (It is also close to the financial district, where our Dublin office is located.) I give it five stars just for its strategic proximity to everything (although the hotel itself is charming and well maintained as well). read more

Very nice location. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful the room was ok and the bathrooms were very nice. They even have a speaker in the bathrooms for the TV. The only problem was that the Wi-Fi was temperamental the whole time. I would recommend to someone who wanted to get away from everything but one who needs to be connected. read more

We popped into the Exchange Restaurant in the Westin Hotel at 6pm last Saturday to try their early bird/pre-theatre menu which is available 6-7pm, Tuesday through Saturday. I've been to the Sunday jazz brunch here before which I would recommend for a treat but this pre-theatre menu caught our eye because of the good value and - unusually for an early bird, it's available on a Saturday evening too. There was a choice of 3 dishes in each course, fish, meat or vegetarian taken from the a la carte menu - €18 for two courses or €22 for three courses. This includes your pick of different warm rolls with whipped butter. The wine list is extensive - we just went for a couple of glasses of wine at about €6. The service is attentive, the atmosphere very nice and relaxed and every seat has a cosy cushion so it's very comfortable, we ended up staying for two hours. For starters, we had scallops with salsa (small portion but tasty) and potato gnocchi (melt-in-the mouth) with shredded duck in a thick cream sauce. For mains there were generous portions of sirloin steak and sea trout, both of which were very well cooked and presented though the accompaniments were less successful - a heavy mash and thick battered onion rings with the steak and a strange sauce (anchovy and orange?!) with the fish. The vegetarian options were a soup to start and a risotto for main. Dessert is definitely worth a go for the extra charge - a steamed toffee and date pudding, banana and nougat spring rolls. Tea and coffee are extra. For two people, three courses and a glass of wine each it was just under €60 in total before tip. I don't know how often they change the set menu but I would definitely come back again when they do! Recommended! read more

I stayed here last weekend for a quick trip to Dublin and am so happy that I chose this hotel! First, it's in a great location. When you're in a new city just for a weekend, you want to be sure to choose a great location to ensure you don't spend too much time in transit. The Westin is centrally located to Temple Bar, Trinity College and most other areas of interest. Secondly, it's a beautiful hotel (possibly most of the most beautiful I've stayed at). I travel quite a bit and have somewhat high expectations for hotels but I'm happy to say this hotel lived up to them. I was able to use my Suite Night Upgrades that the SPG rewards program offers and was confirmed to a suite the Monday before arriving (I arrived on a Friday). The suite was beautiful, complete with a balcony view of the city! It's also always a nice touch when the Experience Manager emails you the week before arriving, but that sense of exclusivity was diminished when the was no reply from the manager nor any response to the special requests made. Additionally, the hotel was decorated for the holiday season, which only added to it's beauty. The concierge (I believe his name was Sander) and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a beautiful lounge, atrium and ballroom so expect the hotel to busy with patrons of the hotel and also guests of the events taking place there. If you're like me, you'll feel like luxury during your stay. read more

Location and service was good. You can walk to just about everything from Westin Hotel Dublin. It's right across the street from Trinity College too so easy to get to and from tours. If you are into shopping Graftin street is 2 mins away. Also 5 mins to the Tara Station to catch the train if needed. The hotel is located in an excellent part of the city. It is near all of what you would want to see in Dublin. The hospitality of the Westin staff is top notch. We paid a little extra for a room with a view and the breakfast buffet each day we were here. I'm not sure if the economy had anything to do with it, but I felt like we were nickeled and dimed for the small stuff. We were asked to pay extra for a newspaper outside of our door each morning. The wi-fi was an extra 15 euros a day and was kind of spotty. Even though breakfast was included,if we ordered off of the buffet for omelets etc, we had to pay for that too. And, there was only one bar of soap in the bathroom. We paid 294 euros a night and expected a bit more. The building used to be a bank and is designated as an historical building. They are limited because of that as far as renovations are concerned. The lobby is small. The rooms were pretty good. Clean as a whistle. read more

My friend and I like to have the odd cocktail in a hotel bar and we popped in here one night to treat ourselves. There is no doubt that it's a very grand hotel but it was distinctly lacking in atmosphere so we left before we even got around to ordering. Apart from the fact that the bar was practically empty, there was just nothing alluring about it. I was here another night with my family and there was music and dancing on, which didn't really fit in with that kind of place it is. So, no - it's a lovely hotel to look at, but I'm not a fan. read more

My husband booked us 3 nights for the last leg of our anniversary trip. We got an email confirmation for a king room with an atrium view. When we arrived they only had us down for 1 night. We were tired from traveling and waited 1/2 hour at 11pm for them to figure out what to do. They gave us keys to a 1st floor room with 2 full size beds. My husband and I are both tall- he is 6'5 so he wouldn't even fit in the bed by himself. We went back down to the front desk and were given new keys for a king. We asked for turn down service and were assured they would provide it the following night. When we got to the room we found our king size bed, but instead of an atrium view we had no windows, and a small bathroom with no bathtub. We went to bed, but I was very concerned still because having no windows seemed unsafe as a fire hazard. I was also worried about my back having a protruding disk in my spine I might want to soak in a hot bath. The next day we went to the front desk to inquire about these concerns. The manager stated he had no knowledge of fire safety rules and didn't know what to do. He said he could try to find out and get back to us and didn't apologize for the room not having an atrium view. He didn't say whether he had a room with windows. He asked what he could do to help us - a strange question because we didn't know what our options might've been. We didn't get turndown service last night- the managers reply was that we had opted in for a green option waiving that service. We told him we confirmed several times that we wanted turn down service. To come home from a long day and have to go go get towels for the shower is inconvenient. He said he would reverse it and I gave him back the $5 voucher he put under the door. We are on the way to the hotel now for our last night there, I'm really hoping for a good experience becaus the last 2 nights we've had problems. When we go to look for concierge in the morning there is either no one there or he is with someone else. We are traveling from abroad and needed to know how to get around the city. Another time our keys were suddenly deactivated and we couldn't get into the room. My main concern is the safety of the room- why did we get this room with no windows? Is it because there was none available with the atrium view? Is there just a staffing issue causing all these miscommunications or is this just a really busy hotel with only 2-3 people working or is there a training needed? Just seems like an excessive # of problems from a supposedly 5 star hotel :/ read more

Great location. I had a suite which was nice, but the hallway had recently experienced flooding from a burst pipe - and the rancid smell on the entire 2nd floor was really bad. WiFi was really slow. I have been a loyal Starwood Platinum customer for 20 years, and I have finally found a property that I will never stay at again -- the Westin Dublin. The hotel manager and front desk staff put revenues ahead of guests, or at least American guests. We had the unfortunate experience of having our flight cancelled, being stuck at JFK for 24 hours, calling the hotel immediately to let them know, and being told, "sorry, we will be converting the 12,000 hotel points you were going to use to dollars ($900!!!!) and charging you full price, even though this situation was out of your control." This hotel might look beautiful in the pictures, but they are devoid of human kindness or compassion for Americans. I am told that Starwood hotel managers have the discretion to overlook this policy in cases like this, and Starwood corporate was aghast and helped me filed a protest, but still they refused to reconsider. So if you stay here, you better hope that your travel goes smoothly, because they will not have your back. read more

Hotel was Okay, room was small and an itty bitty balcony, I had no idea they would charge me $459.00 EUR for each night and my sister and I checked in when I went to check out they gave me a bill for $1,498...we only had one bed, love my sister but for that cost we shouldn't have to share a bed!! In the USA I could have had 4 night's + at a hotel much nicer, I feel raped and robbed....my sister did order up a bunch of beers and billed it to the room...UGH! without the bar thing it was still over $1,000.00 2 night's hahaha ... I am surprised by some of the negative reviews here, but then saw it was mostly people complaining about tea service. I stayed at this hotel for two nights and it was fantastic in all regards and it is now my go-to hotel while in Dublin for business or pleasure. A great location right next to Temple Bar area - good location for business or fun. I used room service and the food was good if not transcendent. The service was very prompt though. The hotel lobby was impressive and good history to the hotel. I have stayed at some disappointing Westins recently, but this is NOT a disappointment. My room was quite large as was the bath room with a generous tub. There was also free radio with a nice speaker system pumped into the bathroom so you could hear music or the TV. The bed was very comfortable. I doubt that I would find a much better hotel experience in Dublin. read more

You get all that you would expect from a Westin hotel. It's centrally located and I find the beds to be very comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are tastefully decorated and clean. The only downside is that on one visit I had a (nice) room that looked out onto the roof and a wall. read more

This Westin is perfectly located and very quaint. It is built within an old bank and offers plenty for Dublin. Actually, we did not see a better hotel in the area. The service was adequate to Westin standards as were the rooms. We used points and purchased a room adjacent from the other room since we learned that the single rooms cannot accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. My only compliant was that the concierge service was a mixed bag and did not seem to have a dedicated person to the position. We used Yelp for most of our plans and dinner reservations. The hotel restaurant is nice and quite and the bar is great after a hectic day of touring. Great coffee houses (even a Starbucks) and pubs are very close by. Last, there is a fluff and fold laundry around the corner that charges by the pound. We did a full load of laundry for 11 euro. The hotel won't tell you this since they want you to use their laundry service which charges 10 euro for 1 tee shirt!!!! Dublin was awesome and we hope to come back!!! read more
