Staff are efficient and drinks are at value prices. They cater for snacks through the day and meals at quality pub prices, which are standard for what you would expect for a Public House. The Entertainment at weekends is fantastic, the downfall to this though, is that they do not have a large amount of customers and so the night can be quiet. Toilets are small and crampedand the decor could be updated. All in all it a lovely little local pub to go to for a quiet drink or 2.

I was expecting to see a traditional decor when I walked in, seeing as the exterior looked old, but was surprised to see that it looked really cool and trendy with comfy leather seats. There was a good crowd in there and a nice atmosphere. The pub would be ideal to come and watch a game of football or cricket as it has some enormous plasma TVs. I had a couple of pints of Guinness there and it tasted great, they also did the usual range of beers and spirits in there too. It seems they also put a lot of effort into attracting locals out on as there were posters dotted around advertising forthcoming entertainment nights. Will definitely be coming back soon.

I took a walk along here one sunny Sunday after my other half, always on the lookout for craft beer bars for me, found that the Colinton Inn had started selling bottles of craft beer. Doing so in a very humorous way, Colinton Inn have dubbed themselves the "heart of craft beer within Colinton". The Colinton Inn being 1 of 2 pubs in Colinton, I found this funny and thought that I should pop along. Upon entering I noticed that this local had had some serious work done to it as well as keeping the old school feel about the place. A few TV's were dotted about, showing whatever sporting events happened to be on. A half decent selection of beers. Flying Scotsman, McEwan's Red on tap and beers like Iron Maiden's Trooper, Hobgoblin, Punk IPA and Innis & Gunn plus a few more in bottles were all available at a very reasonable price. 1 pint of Strongbow and 1 pint of Flying Scotsman came to £6.70 which I was very pleased with. Full bar is also available. Live music and other random events are also hosted. Worth a visit.

The pub also offers some pretty good pub snacks if you aren't feeling capable of a full meal, offering the usual snacks of peanuts and crisps as well as nachos and toasties. Drinks are reasonably priced - £3.60 for a small glass sauvignon blanc and around £2.80 for gin and mixer. Wine sometimes is something that traditional pubs struggle with (another glass of vinegar, eh, no thanks!) but this wasn't the case as the sauvignon blanc had just the right amount of zesty, refreshing bite and there were several choices for non sauv blanc drinkers on offer. Pub munchies with post work drinks are another danger, but a good range of crisps and nuts on offer and not weighed down by a huge markup. The restaurant is really quiet during the week (i.e. it's likely you will be the only one there) but don't let that put you off they will still serve you. The food is tasty and reasonably priced and although the main menu rarely changes there is a speicals board. Pub quiz on a Thursday night is only for the really clever! (well I never know any of the answers!) There is a car park at the back and it's really easy to find, being on the main road.

The crowd was a bit of locals and a bit of people pouring out from the tattoo convention, so it was a mixed bag of people. Prices are ok, but I'm sure there are better deals to be had at a local pub nearby as I'm sure the prices are jacked up knowing people don't really have another option on the premises. The pub is bright and airy with some darker corners. They have large comfortable leather chairs and sofas dotted around the place. it seems as much as a semi local / waiting area for ECE visitors. There is a long traditional bar, which flows into the venue of the ECE. They have 4 screens showing various UK favourite sports, Golf, Tennis, Soccer and Formula 1 racing. Music is loud when we visited, but I guess this is a always like that seeing they are right beside a venue that also holds concerts. It is not a place I would visit by itself, but as a stop before going into the venue it suffices.

The interior has been replaced, a pool tabel installed and new tvs put in everywhere, which makes it an ideal place to catch a game. On big match days it does get very busy so be prepared to stand if you have to. The also do a pub grub menu which is very cheap and quite good food aswell. In the morning they are open as a kind of sandwich shop which serves sandwiches and soups etc at a kind of seperate bit divided from the pub, which the keep up until lunch and then take awa the divider to have the pub as one big place in the afternoons/evenings. The pub has a great atmosphere and since its name change has many more younger people in it, the prices for drinks are great too. At weekends you can also catch the Kareoke or disco!
