I would like to try this shop again when I'm not in a rush. Came in early this morning and was a little disappointed at how long it took for my order to be complete. This seems like an establishment frequented by regulars, and their orders took precedent over my own. The price was average for the area with my muffin and drink totaling $9. The muffin was great! Crunchy, sugary top, but soft on the inside with plenty of lemon flavor. My drink was pretty good too, though I wish there was more of a selection. Like I said, I will probably try this again one afternoon when I have time (and they do!) to really make the experience count! read more

Wine and coffee in one spot... ok review over. . Coffee 10...service 10...atmosphere 10...coffee names 10...vibes...10. You get it! This is my go to spot for the last 5 years. Even though I don't live in the area anymore, when I'm nearby I going to get my fix. I don't think they have anything I didn't like in 5 years but my favorite is Sweater Weather and the white mocha one. Ooohh. No. The sweet Melissa and the almond joy mocha... ohhhh and wine... they sell wine too, delicious baked items and trinkets and knickknacks. Staff is super friendly and inviting. When I first moved to the Triad several years ago they advertised on television but did not patronize them due to their location to where I lived at the time. A few months ago I moved to Archdale and started patrolling the Wet Whistle. The morning crew is always upbeat and engaging. I am a creature of habit and they know my drink. This is my favorite coffee shop in town, not to mention you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer in the evening while listening to live music most Friday nights. The staff is always so friendly. The atmosphere is cozy with comfy couches, and warm fire. You can choose to sit up at the bar as well. I love the seasonal menus as well as the good ol' original standbys. On my list of places I wanted to try is this lovely place. PLENTY of drinks and yummy confections to choose from. I picked the All Summer Long Presley style. It's a banana shake with espresso topped with peanut butter and chocolate syrup. Delicious! I also got a slice of blueberry loaf. It was so moist! Very good. The coffee shop also sells gift and has a large wine section. As far as seating there are multiple couches, high tables and also outdoor seating. Service was quick and sweet. read more

The coffee here is so bitter with no flavor. I am glad I got whipped cream. It helped to mitigate the bitterness. Overall, the baristas were nice and the atmosphere was great too. I was just disappointed because most coffee shops are closed on Easter and I really wanted some good coffee today. read more

Not only does The Wet Whistle have fantastic coffees hot or cold (white chocolate mocha is my favorite), delicious tea (China Girl or One Night In Bangkok are my go to) BUT you can also have a glass of wine, do a small tasting, even purchase bottles of local wines! I found Native Vines by pure accident one day and fell in love with their Green Tea wine and was so excited when I found it at The Wet Whistle! 12/10 hands down better than any chain coffee joint around! read more

I love local coffee shops so I had to check out the wet whistle before leaving HP. The location is in a small shopping center with what seems like plenty of parking. I went on a Sunday and didn't have a problem at all. Its a cute little store and coffee shop. Lots of gift options and flavored wines to choose from too. Everyone was very friendly and said hello as I walked in. I ordered a iced white chocolate mocha with whipped cream. It was delightful and smooth. A good mixture of coffee and and creamy. Right now they have December holiday drinks so definitely check them out while they're out! read more

It is a funky little place. The coffee and baked goods are excellent!!!! Really so yummy!!!! Their custom latte menu is a little small. This is not a place to work though. We love getting our coffee drinks here. My daughter loves it. She always says how much better it is than the national coffee chain. I love the cinnamon girl in any form latte, iced or frozen. My daughter loves the mocha frappes. It's also a great place if you are looking for wine or beer. They have individual cans/bottles of beer which really helped me to try different kinds and figure out what I liked. Their selection of local wines is amazing. Visited on Saturday evening, July 8th. Got there about fifteen minutes before close so can't comment much on the atmosphere except most everything is rock 'n roll themed. They've expanded their store since I was there last. It is now double in size with lots of seating. They have a coffee bar with seating, a lounging area with sofas, and a patio with seating. They sell wine, beer, muffins, other baked goods, and market items such as mugs, etc. I ordered a Chai Tea Latte... a.k.a. China Girl (yes, named after the David Bowie song!). Jennifer made my drink and it was the best one I've ever had. She was super friendly and interested in making the best drink possible. She stated it should be the best because we are paying good money for it. I liked that because you don't hear that much anymore... great service! You can also tell she enjoys her work. I love this place! They have a great selection of espresso and coffee drinks as well as teas and other options, and all have catchy names. The staff is very friendly, especially the owner. They also have a fabulous selection of NC wines, and have many more selections than even places like Total Wine. Besides that, they also feature various locally made products from muffins and snacks to hand-made coffee cup coozies. To make it even better, they bring in live music some evenings and weekends, and have local wineries set up tastings to sample their products. I definitely recommend The Wet Whistle! read more

They host events (tastings, music, food trucks) and have a wonderful staff. I love coffee but I'm not what you would call a coffee addict, more of a caramel frappucinno addict! And their frappes are absolutely amazing!! The only negative thing I will say is when I went in yesterday I ordered a small caramel frappe, and it was literally only filled up half way in the cup... And the rest was whip cream. It tasted amazing so I have nothing bad to say, but I just won't pay $5 for a small and only get half of it (6oz). I don't think the girl that made realized what she did, which is why I didn't say anything. But I really should have! read more

With only one person ahead of me and it took over 10 min for my order to even be taken, and another 6-8 min for the drink to even be made. Each time I've been in it's been like this. While this is a quaint local espresso bar with a kitschy atmosphere I would not recommend it for the wine enthusiast. I can not comment on the quality of their coffees and smoothies but they definitely don't know wine. This is truly unfortunate as I support local and so do they, featuring wines from NC. However they do these wines a disservice by refrigerating the vast majority of them; while your whites and sweets should be served at cooler temps, most reds should be served at room temp. A cold glass of Chambourcin just tastes wrong! And not that I am a wine snob, I'm not. But I am Eco-friendly and stay-to-drink beverages belong in a glass. I will give them points for friendly service though. read more
