Even if they don't have things going on, it is still a great place to sit back and relax in an Adirondack overlooking the water. There is a cute tire swing and plenty of grass area for kiddos to run around and play. I always enjoy getting a flight so I can enjoy several of their wines. I actually like their muscadine wines surprisingly. They also have the most amazing strawberry cake that is made with their wine! I go every year for my birthday to get a slice. In the summer, it is also nice to get a win slushy as well. The owners are always very friendly and their dogs will likely greet you as well. No beverages may be brought to the property but bring yourself a little picnic of food to enjoy with your wine.

I went on an NC Grape Escape tour for my birthday, and I highly recommend booking with this local…read morebusiness!! It took me awhile to find an affordable wine tour option in the Piedmont/Yadkin area, and Grape Escape delivered exactly what we were looking for. Our driver, Paula, let us make our own vineyard itinerary. She picked us up at 10am on a Saturday, and we visited five vineyards in the Swan Creek area before returning around 6pm. Paula clearly knew all of the vineyards well and was able to make good recommendations at each place. She was friendly with all of the vineyard staff and helped us get a tasting table at each venue, making it a standout experience. My favorite part about our tour is that all of the wine tastings are included in the tour cost, so you don't have to worry about paying at each place. You pay everything up front, and Paula takes care of the rest! We visited Shadow Springs, Windsor Run, Dobbins Creek, Raffaldini, and Piccione vineyards. Out of the five, I highly recommend incorporating Windsor Run and Piccione into your NC wine tour! I also can't recommend booking with NC Grape Escape enough...they were exactly what we wanted.

On our drive along US-29, we spotted a sign and decided to make an impromptu stop. Having only visited wineries in the Northeast, we were initially taken aback by the simple facade. At first glance, it wasn't as elaborate as others we've seen--no endless rows of grapevines or a sleek indoor café. Just a humble barn and about five to seven rows of grapes. But the moment we stepped into the bar area, a whole new world opened up. The charm of this place truly lies in the details. There are multiple outdoor spaces perfect for photo ops or just soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Some areas have been updated as recently as last year, and the entire property is clearly well-maintained. Now, about the service--it was wonderful. We were warmly greeted by the bartender, who asked if we had a reservation for a tasting (we didn't). Since it was Wine Down Wednesday--with glasses of wine for just $4--we planned to simply enjoy a couple of glasses. But what we got far surpassed the weekly special. We ended up doing wine flights and sampled a variety of flavors and textures, all while engaging in great conversation.
