I have just have a really good evening at the Whitchurch Inn.
My Boyfriend and I walked in to a very friendly greeting from a lovely barmaid. My friend had to quickly nip to the loo and she asked me if I'd like to wait before ordering, I thought that was really considerate and friendly. I said thank you but I'll order.
I went to a nice table in the corner. It was a nice atmosphere and I didn't feel ill at ease at all.
We looked at the menu and asked the barmaid about the special offer on the steaks. She said they didn't start serving til half six. We were happy to wait.
The bar staff changed over at six. The gentleman who took over from her came over and took our orders.
I queried it, he said it was so we didn't have to wait. He recommended the chips. They were really good.
We ordered and sure enough at six thirty the waitress came with our order of steaks. I asked it she could please move the Lilys as I had a cold and could tasted them. She did this for me without question.
The meals were hot and tasty, not at all greasy, the steaks were done medium well done. They were very tasty and tender. I could not fault the meal, at all. The Chef came out and asked how the meals were. The Barman came over and asked if I liked the chips :)
We had a slice of Baileys cheesecake for desert. It was so pretty to look at. It was a shame to break into the pattern on the plate. We couldn't stop saying Thank you. It was a really good evening.
The meal with drinks came to just over £35. Really good value for money.
You should go and share the experience we had :) read more
