I am giving Blue Moon a one star because of something that seemed very shady. I should have questioned why at the time but I tend to believe in the honesty of people. They were going to "call back" when they heard from the seller. It has been awhile now. Very reasonable throughout the store...some of the vendors are pricier ... I held out on a figurine that I adored, but a little much for what it is. Store reminded me a lot of the Cambridge Antique store with the multiple booths and each booth can have a promotion going on (like 20%, 30% off everything etc). I finally found an awesome lighthouse paint by numbers that I snagged for my sister in law. Though it was a bit pricey, I felt good supporting a local business vs Michaels. While I was shopping I could hear the owner on the phone with a customer assisting them and not rushing to get them to hang up which is very nice. Once I checked out she offered to wrap it for me with no extra charge. I thought it was such a special touch. She also has an adorable dog that was behind the counter who was a friendly old lady. As an animal lover this is always bonus points in my life. It seems as she hosts some type of events, has some space in the back not sure if it's for crafts? But worth checking out! It's a small space but they use it well; there are knickknacks and cool antique pieces everywhere you look, and the owners are knowledgeable about what they sell and about the history of the town. This shop differs from other local antique shops in that it sells more small pieces and collectibles, rather than large pieces of expensive furniture and framed paintings. It's a much cozier and more welcoming feel than the showroom-style places nearby where you're scared to touch anything with a price tag on it. I collect vintage compacts and cosmetics and Un-Common Antiques has saved me a couple trips to Concord, as I can find the pieces I'm looking for here without the ridiculous markups and the long drive.
