Cute gift shop with a friendly owner! I came here to try to find some holiday gifts, wasn't really sure what I was looking for. A lot to browse and many options. I finally found an awesome lighthouse paint by numbers that I snagged for my sister in law. Though it was a bit pricey, I felt good supporting a local business vs Michaels. While I was shopping I could hear the owner on the phone with a customer assisting them and not rushing to get them to hang up which is very nice. Once I checked out she offered to wrap it for me with no extra charge. I thought it was such a special touch. She also has an adorable dog that was behind the counter who was a friendly old lady. As an animal lover this is always bonus points in my life. It seems as she hosts some type of events, has some space in the back not sure if it's for crafts? But worth checking out! My favorite items that she sells are the Swan Creek candles, which last forever and smell soooooo amazing, and the custom wine glasses with NR and surrounding towns' zip codes! They had me at "In Christ Alone!" It was playing on the radio when I walked in looking for a last-minute birthday gift for a girl friend. What a quaint, beautiful and unique little boutique. They offer much more than one might think upon driving up. I have been living in NR for a few months now, and this is my go-to spot for one of a kind gifts, and home accents. I am also preparing to sign up for a workshop to learn how to update my kitchen cabinetry with the chalk paint they use. What can I say? My wife and I went in Brissonte looking for Anne Sloan paint and met Colleen. What a stroke of luck. We purchased paints , brushes, and wax to refinish the mantle over and around our fireplace. The paint and techniques were as advertised and we were entirely pleased with the results. However, we were ever more than pleased with the service and recommendations that Colleen was more than eager to impart to us. She was right on the mark with all of her recommendations. Now the good part. My wife was about to have a birthday so I called Brissonte some days later and asked if they could put together a basket in one of the colors we chose and add paints of different colors, and most anything my wife would need to continue her refinishing journey with other pieces of furniture. Brissonte could not have done a better job of putting together a gift basket full of Anne Sloan materials, books, brushes and the like. I will be forever grateful to Brissonte for creating such a successful birthday gift. My wife loved it, and I will always endorse Brissonte. If I had a Facebook account I would go there as well. The BEST! This is the place to come for your Annie Sloan project. I'd never worked with chalk paint before and was unsure which color to choose to achieve the look I was going for. Colleen gave me a quick tutorial and took the time to show me samples of the different waxes and how they change the paint color. My project came out beautiful- just what I wanted.
