We were greeted by a staff member and told her about needing a wig. She began pulling some options and asking for styles/shapes of the wigs my mom was looking for. She was helpful but not all that helpful - did not say much about how to care for the wigs or best practices for them? We had to ask about all this. The cap to tuck your hair was also pretty cheap. We did find a wig for my mom which was $150. There were much pricier wigs that include human hair and wigs that have a built in part - those were $300s+. A foam mannequin is not included in a wig purchase and was $4.99. Tip - you can get these cheaper online or elsewhere.

She recommends that clients schedule an appointment; this is definitely necessary! My mom received top notch, one-on-one service from Susan and her wig consultant, Shannon, and the consult and wig selection took us about two hours (not sure if that's average, but if you or your mom is picky, leave some time). They offer high quality synthetic wigs and human hair wigs, all of which are customized to each woman's tastes (and head size). We ended up selecting a human hair wig, which is pricey, but definitely worth the expenditure. We'll head back in two weeks when my mom's hair begins to fall out to have my mom's hair shaved off and the wig styled and fitted. Susan stated that this normally takes about two hours (there's a cute looking restaurant next door - Mae's - that looks nice to chill in while you're waiting). Susan also sells cute hats, skin products and other random products that you never thought you'd need... If you're in the metro-Detroit area, this is definitely worth a visit. Anyway, I rambled long enough, but it's hard to know what to expect so hopefully this helps you. Susan's is just a really nice, calming place. I can't recommend it enough.

Don't Do It!!! Learn From My Mistake!!! Unfortunately, my experience with Shantell (Remy Girls) was…read moredisappointing. I was nervous about spending / investing so much money on a wig but figured if I found the right person all would be well. Much to my dismay, this was not the case. I paid over 700 dollars and feel very much ripped off. I was promised a flawless look upon completion and I was left with a hairline that was cut sloppy and a gluey mess. This defeated the purpose of having a lace wig. Since my service was completed just before leaving town I had to spend my time out of the country with bad hair. I telephoned and texted before I left and she did not return my call until days later while I was still out of the country . When I returned I explained to her how unhappy I was with the look and her solution was another person who was to reinstall the unit. The next person installed and it was just thrown together very sloppy. However, I was not able to see this until I got home. She did a much better job than the first installer/stylist in terms of a finished look, but there were issues. I don't blame her because she was trying to fix the original mess. Initially, it looked good, but once completely dry you are able to see the dry white mess around your hairline. The tabs on wig cut way above my sideburns. If I wear my hair back I need to work out ways to hide this. It's a mess... Things that don't show up in online pics.... Things that you can not see when the job is first done. . Whereas the first time my unit was sewn down to my braids this time it was. poorly glued and started lifting the very next day. My braids underneath are bumpy and as a result my unit does not lay flat. When I called and continued to voice my dissatisfaction I was offered a refund on the install( roughly 100 bucks which I never got) which I explained oes not fix my situation. I shared with Shantell my concerns of her promises, basically trying to fix something that was already done improperly doesn't work . She assured me of a properly redone job. My advice is to save your money. Do your own research, buy your own wig unit from a reputable company. Have the install done by someone who knows what they are doing. There was so much glue on my unit that hairs were torn out while she tried to remove the glue. My hairline also hurts a bit from the experience.. While Shantell presents herself in a professional manner once she has your money its a done deal. I am now stuck with a unit that can not be worn the way intended. I hide my hairline everyday (with hats and comb overs) and will continue to do so until I find a professional to remedy the situation for me. Her last words to me were "We are done!" No Shantell, you"re done. Not necessarily from my review but definitely from your poor work ethic. It will catch up to you. . I am happy to share pics if my experience for anyone who wants to see.close up pics tell the whole story. Additionally, I was promised a flawless look that was easily maintained by tying down at night and wake and shake in the am. This is not the case. If you don't mind sub-par conditions then her work may suffice. If you want what you pay for keep looking. I have had better looking bad weaves.ive paid all this money only to end up on youtube searching for answers to my questions/ problems when have already given Remy girls 700 reasons to alleviate my concerns.
