I've been here a few times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lunch and dinner were fine. I've had the roast dinner, which was typical for an Irish roast dinner. I've also had the burger, which was pretty good.
The main reason for me giving only 3 stars is that I went for breakfast two days ago, and it wasn't what it used to be. I ordered the New York pancakes. I've had these before and they were American type pancakes. Being American, having had them before, and the fact that the dish is called "The New Yorker", I expected the same pancakes. I didn't get them. What came out was crepes. I was fine with crepes, even though that's not what I expected. The real problem was that the eggs served with the dish were hidden between the pancakes and were terribly overcooked. To top it off, everything was covered in syrup. Maybe eggs in maple syrup is good for some people, but not me. I couldn't eat syrupy, overcooked eggs.
My suggestion to the restaurant is to specify what kind of pancakes they are in the menu, cook the eggs as requested, and put them on the side, OR if you insist on hiding them in the crepes, serve the dish with the syrup on the side! read more
