There is a large quiet section with large cubbies & other areas which I have yet to explore. The lower level has a large selection of CD's & DVD's. Going to the restroom felt a bit ominous because the lower level is usually less populated & the bathrooms are secluded. I would definitely be back here for quiet study or for a change of scenery from my local library. The staff have not been too friendly or welcoming but I did not interact more with them besides exchanging a simple "hello" or "goodbye."

They frequently talk for extended periods, sometimes for hours, at an unreasonably loud volume. When asked politely to lower their voices, they become very defensive. It does not seem like an unreasonable request to ask for quiet in a library, especially when staff have been talking continuously for 30 to 45 minutes. Despite making several polite requests for them to be mindful of their volume, I was met with a rude response and even told, both implicitly and later directly, that I should stop coming if I did not like it. Over time, I felt unwelcome and ultimately stopped visiting this library. While I understand that some level of conversation is inevitable, prolonged loud talking in a space meant for reading, studying, and quiet reflection is not appropriate. I felt it was important to share this experience and also raise it with library leadership.

The workers are extremely rude. When kids come to the library after school they are forced to be…read morequiet, even though they are on the louder side of the library and no one's really here to be annoyed from the kids anyway. The workers are louder than the kids, hearing them from their office laughing with each other but unfortunately they can't talk to their friends. In order for them to do that they would have to "whisper," while they are louder then them. I came in with my child and overheard one of the workers telling kids she does not care about them and that she would put them on the street if they talked. As a parent that was a very alarming statement to hear. Very disrespectful.

The librarians inside are some of the warmest people I met in my entire life. Not fake politeness, but genuine niceness. Especially the elderly man at the counter on ground floor. Everyone was extremely helpful and made me feel welcome for living in Weehawken. Guess what, they also let me check out 2 books on the day I went. At any time, with a library card one can check out as many as 56 books. The view from the library windows upstairs is great. This might be a great spot for studying. But honestly, book collection wise this library branch is not great, but 100 points for looking like Hogwarts.

Nutley Library is the bee's knees…read more It's located off one of the main streets tucked away in its own little spot. The library itself is huge. Two floors and countless sections. When you first walk in you get greeted by the friendly workers and the new arrivals along with popular book choices. Most of the first floor is nonfiction and they have it all laid out perfectly. Just from walking through the first time I saw a ton of books that have been on my list for a while now. Upstairs is fiction, kids section, magazines and the quiet corner which I love. It's a spot all the way in the back that's perfect for studying or reading without being disturbed. I'm just very shocked at the amount of books they have. I'm a bit of a library snob and this is a great one. They have comic books, magazines, even a small dungeons and dragons nook! Hahaha. The workers are great here, they helped me find a book I've been looking for for quite a while now and actually had been waiting for another library to get for me. They had it available right away. This is a fantastic spot, part of BCCLS and just overall really well laid out. Can't give it enough praise.
