I really enjoyed their summer reading program they offered this year for adults. My biggest complaint is with a few of the staff members. There are a few staff who are very rude and unhelpful. A few times I asked an older gentleman for help and he quickly responded in a rude matter, saying I can't help you. He wouldn't even try to ask a colleague or attempt to help me. I finally found a different librarian and they had to remedy the situation and teach their colleague the process. On the other hand, there are many librarians who are very friendly and helpful, but it doesn't go for everyone. In addition, they are very quick to accuse you of damaging books. The smallest tear or stain requires you to pay a large fine to replace the book. There is something called wear and tear that happens when books are lent out to people and that's the reality of a library. Overall, I am happy with the library and appreciate the resources.

During and since his lifetime, the Finkelstein Memorial Library has undergone many positive changes and upgrades since those early years. It was the first library to use technology extensively, and to install a technology center dedicated to Robert H. Finkelstein who promoted and helped to fund it. The library serves a highly diverse population and has programs and services in many different languages and age groups from children to seniors. Its community meeting room is used extensively by a wide variety of community organizations. It provides a wide array of programs, both in person and virtually. The staff is friendly and helpful and welcome people of all backgrounds and ethnicities. The library is currently planning an Enrichment Center adjacent to and adjoining the main library, which will provide additional space needed for such existing programs such as a multi-cultural center, job preparedness, English as a second language (ESL), after school programs, and more. This transformational Library expansion is planned to bring new and enhanced services to the community including a teaching kitchen, an broadened multi-cultural center, a sensory space to support neurodiverse patrons, counseling spaces for mental health services, a state of the art community room with staging for concerts, forums, and public gatherings, a Bridges Cafe offering training and employment for differently abled adults and veterans, and much more.
