I visited the Willow Walk with two friends for a drink and some light snacks as late-night food, I had worked all day and was very stressed, and was both low in blood sugar and mood. We arrived at the pub, and sat down, my friend ordered food for me on my phone and didn't pay attention and used my phone and paid for two meals, which was too much and couldn't be cancelled for a start. On the brink of emotional collapse, a member of staff came to ask me to show him an ID to prove my age. Incredulous and astonished as it sounds, I will be 34 years old next week in May 2024. Genuinely shocked and found that lack of common sense and moronic, the member of staff refused to accept my claim and insisted on me leaving the premise to retrieve my ID from my flat half hour walk away. After making an awkward joke that none of the three of us understood, I had to leave and embark on another journey home to retrieve the driving licence at my flat, it was almost 22:00. I went home, retrieved the driving licence, returned the premise, dangerously close to collapse for lack of strength, and resisting the pain from the stomach, the staff did not come to check the ID!! The other members of staff noticed my return, and yet, it was more than 10 minutes, and 3 attempts of my kind and patient friends approached the bar to enquire whether someone would send to our table to check the ID since I took all the trouble to retrieve it, and most importantly, to send the drink to our table. It is discovered, now that the kind lady served our table, the staff in question, the shift leader and the manager, are all too embarrassed to approach our table, and none of them dared to serve the drink. Well, at least for lack of heart and mind, they do possess a sense of humiliation. Shockingly poor customer service, astoundingly lacking common sense, surprisingly limited brain cells engaged, distressingly low level of communication skills, and abysmal immature behaviours, all contributed to a terrible experience. Was hard to find a place to sit. Hard to order from the table from the scan bar and app. Pizza was undercooked and rubbery. Chicken was very dry. I guess this is more of a place for Beer than for food. read more

Wanted some British pub grub and stumbled upon Willow Walk. Came in around 6 pm on a weekday and it was packed and lively. Service was good. Cod and Chips - Cod was fried well. Comes with 2 small pieces. Chips were soggy and bland. Mushy peas were better then I expected. Beef Ale Pie - Cannot beat a pie stuffed with beef and a hearty gravy. Great crust. Comes out really hot. Came with boiled veggies and mashed potatoes which were nothing special. Good heavy food that keeps you full all day! read more

I love this place. A wide meny where you're almost guaranteed to find something you like. Everything from english breakfast, eggs benedict (which I really recommend) to dinner courses like mexican burritos. They also offer great deals with both food and drinks included. No doubt i'm going back here. It can be really crowded here by evening/night really. Eating our breakfast here was amazing though. read more

Just in town and looking for Fish and Chips.. This place was recommended by our hotel and it was nearby. There weren't any fish or chips on the menu but we decided to stay and try our luck. My mate tried the potatoe skin. with cheese and I decided on the 5 bean chili which was quite good. My problem is with the service. When they brought the food they failed to provide a spoon to eat the chili with. After waiting for sometime to fine a waiter or waitress I went up to the bar where I was totally ignored for a period of time until I called to to the 3 people behind the bar to see if one of them could get me a spoon. I was greeted by the rudest waiter I've ever met who proceeded to tell me to return to my table and he would bring a spoon to me which he NEVER did. How could he even know where I was sitting? Needless to say it became apparent he had no intention of providing any type of service even poor service. I don't know what set him off since we have never been there prior to this night and will never go there again. This waiter simply decided to be an ass and demonstrate the lowest class of service I've ever come across. Even upon leaving he had comments to make to his fellow staff persons. All I can say is any restaurant that continues to employ such a rude, inconsiderate, deliberately mean punk doesn't deserve my business. read more

Do you know why I love London? Because I can show up at a bar and ask for tea, and not only do people not look at me like I'm insane, but they actually serve it. So at the pub I had delicious tea. I'm not the biggest fan of any Wetherspoons, but as far as they go, this one isn't half bad. I've been in it quite a few times, and popped in to kill time yesterday as I waited on my train from Victoria. Let's get one thing straight about this Wetherspoons branch; you are going to be incredibly lucky if you manage to get a seat anywhere, at anytime of the day, any day. It is always absolutely heaving with people. Yesterday though, the Heavens opened up and granted me a one person table in the corner. I can still hear those angels singing now. The exact same bar selection is on offer here that is offered at any other branch, and the food menu is the same. Though yesterday there was a sign up saying that all means would unfortunately be coming without chips today. Broken deep fat frier? It was busy and noisy and I had one drink and left. I don't hate this place, and I don't love it, but it's somewhere I'd come for cheap drink when I had a while to wait. read more

The Willow Walk isn't the worst Wetherspoons I've been to and it's not the best either. Rather, it's a pretty standard demonstration of the typical strengths and weaknesses of the chain in general. The interior is 1980s cross-channel ferry. Varnished wooden tables on a brown and purple pattern carpet, with gambling machines along the side walls. The food is cheap (particularly when bought as part of a deal with a drink) but mediocre. The clientèle comprise of elderly fleece-wearing patrons, office workers and tourists. The undoubted strength of the Willow Walk are the beers. Not the Greene King stuff, more the policy of Wetherspoons to buy beer from breweries as it approaches its expiration, leading to some complete bargains to be had. Like pints of ELB 6% Quadrant oatmeal stout and Rogue IPA for £3.35. That indeed is why I think Wetherspoons trumps pub chain rival Sam Smiths: an ever changing choice of beers and consequently a much better chance of getting a good, interesting beer for little money. read more

Worst food we have had in London since arriving 4 days ago, we stopped in for drinks yesterday and the place looked good, came back today for food and drink and was horrid, very dry and we left more than 1/2 of our meals. Come here for drinks but go elsewhere for food. read more

This was one of the few places open late after seeing a show in the West End. It was very busy but we still got immediate service and the food came out quick. The Mac & Cheese, a new item on the menu, was fantastic. They have a decent selection of craft beers and the regular options. The prices were great for the area. read more

I like weatherspoons but i find that this pub is a bit of a dive. It is a stopping point for anyone going on the train and I have seen people being sick on the floor at the bar. i have heard of very serious fights taking place and the last time I was in there, they ran out of ginger ale at the bar and were probably too lazy to go downstairs to get some more. This place is nothing special whatsoever but for drinks at a credit crunch beating price, how can one really resist? The food in weatherspoons is average at best, the only thing worth turning up for is the curry night on thursday, but even that has had its bad days. The four of us just flew into london from nyc and decided to try the willow walk pub. It was still early, 9:30am, and they were open early and nearby. One note...there are tables but no table service. One orders and pays at the bar and they bring the orders to your table. Breakfast served til 12noon, everything else on menu seved all day. 3 of us had fries and the amounts were not consistent. Food and service was okay. read more

Big disappointment. Stopped here before a matinee of Wicked. Ordered some simple and quick appetizers...nachos, taquitos and chips. Was told ten minutes. 25 minutes later, no food! Had to leave having eaten nothing so we didn't miss the show. You have to pay in advance...so we feel cheated. No one seats you, no manager around to talk to. As Americans visiting London for the first time, and staying near Victoria Station, we wanted a nearby, thrifty, fast, non-touristy eatery. I asked an English friend and neighbor from home in the US where they eat when they are in England and they recommended any Weatherspoons restaurant/pub. They explained to me that Weatherspoons is a parent company / brand and local restaurants under that brand name have local restaurant names. So, for example, this particular Weatherspoons is called The Willowalk. The Weatherspoons at Gatwick is The Red Lion, etc. they are apparently all over England. This was perfect for us! It is fast, inexpensive and has a great variety on the menu. Wine, beer and liquor is available. To order, you go into the restaurant, grab a table, note the table number. Look at the menu. Go to the bar to order and pay. The food will be delivered to your table. I would give it 4 stars, except our eggs were cold when we ate breakfast there. Other than that, we were very happy with the food, drinks, prices and level of service. We also ate at the Red Lion, the Gatwick Airport Weatherspoons and were equally pleased. If you like hot chocolate, be sure to order it here. It is served as chocolate in a stick, like. Lollipop. Stir hot milk with it and it dissolves and transforms into a rich hot chocolate that will not disappoint. If you are an adult harried from preparing for your trip, ask for shot of rum on the side and add it to your hot chocolate. You will soon feel much better! read more

A pretty average to mediocre 'Spoons near Victoria Station. Eight ales on cask and all the normal sludge on keg. Beers are cheap. Not every cask was tapped, which was a bummer. Bartender was pleasant. A good option if you need to kill some time while waiting for a train - this pub is much less crowded than those actually IN Victoria Station. read more

There's those times when you just want to be somewhere warm and have a drink and for those times there's always a Weatherspoons nearby. While I don't think that this particular pub has anything special to offer, it's a decent one and the alcohol is quite cheap. There's a decent selection of local ales to choose from for under £3 which is pretty good for London prices. The burger was average but I do think that Weatherspoons are much better for a full English Breakfast or fish and chips instead, so I would recommend avoiding the burgers. There's much better places for that in London. In any case me and my friends had a good time there and, if I happen to be in the area for a play or something like that, I might visit again. read more

I loved the food! I got the Alfredo plate and would definitely recommend. The staff was friendly and helpful. My friend got the superfood salad and she loved it (She's vegan)! They recommended the angry orchard cider and I absolutely loved it. One downside of coming here was that they advertise free wifi but the wifi didn't even work :( read more

The Willow Walk is the perfect place to relax if you're looking for a comfortable and friendly atmosphere slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of Victoria station. A JD Wetherspoon pub, the price of drinks is better than you can expect in most of central london, and cheaper than the JD Wetherspoon situated inside the station. Children are welcome until 9pm and the pub offers some great offers on food; only £7.49 for two main meals, and a burger and drink for £4.99! The staff are friendly and most of the time the pub provides a laid back and relaxed atmosphere, although Friday and Saturday nights can get extremely busy; which means the bar is barely accessible. Overall, an enjoyable experience whether you're going for a meal or just a few pints- which reminds me- the Willow has an excellent range of real ales for those of you who are interested. They usually have between 10 and 12 available at all times. read more

Great place. The cocktail pitchers are a great deal and the meals you can get with a Strongbow or a Guinness for under £7. The atmosphere is good, crowd is pretty diverse. No music, so they don't isolate certain groups. It's a great place and it's lead to the most fun nights with my friends. Highly recommend. Conveniently located for public transit also. read more
