My buddy and I had the chance to stop in during a layover on the way to the World Cup (humble brag?). The bartenders were awesome and crowd was great. A little small but super quaint and fun!

Are here twice and I've been so impressed. The ribs were huge and perfectly seasoned. It was cooked exquisitely... fell off the bone. I got the Indian special. Don't remember the name but it was for a super good deal. It was the best Indian dish I've ever had!

We were walking around London and happened upon The Queens Head, and it was a good find. We started with a cheese plate (we were so hungry we didn't take a picture). My wife had a Chicken & Mushroom pie - she loved it, and I had the 10oz Ribeye steak and chips, also good. The atmosphere, upstairs where we ate, was classic English Pub, dark wood with an aged feel.

Despite being in the heart of Piccadilly, this pub was really good! We had made a reservation since it was Saturday night, it wasn't too packed though. They had some typical London beers on tap. We started off with the cheese plate. It was delicious! It came with four cheeses, multiple crackers, tasty apple chutney and grapes. For dinner I had the fish and chips. It was really tasty. The fish was light and crispy. The chips were tasty. It was a delicious meal! I would recommend stopping by here sometime.

Walked in right before the dinner rush and snagged a corner area upstairs for two. The service was incredible along with the food. A pub is where I would get shepherds pie instead of a fine dining area and I believe it will taste much better at a pub type area. The fish and chips were delicious and the shepherds pie was delicious as well. We tried local beer and it was great! The ladies upstairs really catered to us and also made for great convo.

We found this place after a very long day of sight seeing. I'm really not one for fish and chips but the ones they serve are amazing. The beer batter is crispy & flavorful while the white fish is tender & flaky. The mushy peas sounded gross but were so good. Who knew lemon & mint could taste so good on peas. The service was very friendly. I highly recommend.

Excellent food and beer! My wife had a vegetarian pie and it was delicious, sort of Arab food flavours!! I had a chicken one and was delicious too! Will certainly come back! Waitresses were very nice with us too!!

Found this pub near Piccadilly Circus. More seating upstairs. Very good service. Fish and chips are delicious...well-battered haddock filet. Shepherd's pie is about 13 cm (5") in diameter. Generous portions! Cozy dining hall upstairs (seats about 28).

Although in the middle of a very touristic spot (Piccadilly circus), this very authentic restaurant gives you a full British experience. From the staff, the decor, and the food. Hidden few feet behind Piccadilly Circus, off Regent Street. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Tried their Fish & Chips, and it was very good with a rather larger portion. The restaurant is upstairs and they have a pub/bar down stairs. However, the restaurant also have a small bar to serve the folks eating.

Great place to grab a few pints or pub food whilst in town! Service was good even though they were quite crowded.

Good little spot but I don't really get why the reviews are so much better than other pubs in the general area.

My wife actually booked dinner reservations in advance for Ye Old Cheshire Cheese, it was one of a few we did that for rather than just popping in. For some of these, Cheshire included, it isn't a bad idea if you want a full meal to do so as it gives you a table in a dining area that is quieter than the More raucous areas of the pub and guarantees you plenty of elbow room to dine. Every pub has fish and chips, and we had our share of it during our 8+ day trek, but my wife swears by this place as having the absolute best. I'd likely agree with that--we both had the traditional fish, chips, peas platter and every bite was great. We had a few slices of sourdough to hold us over while waiting for those plates. My wife had a bit of wine, and I tried a lager, lower ABV ale, and a pour of scotch opting for their "house" scotch. The spirits/beer menu was the same I saw used at a couple of what I think must be "sister" pubs all using the same distilleries and brewers. We were too full to try dessert. Service was friendly. Not sure if it was the vintage of my scotch or her wine, but price-wise this was by far our priciest pub visit in the area and I can't quite point my fingers at why, but I don't regret our meal and time here. As for historic interest, you can find pictures and placards of many of the pubs famous patrons from history--Dickens, Mark Twain on visits to London, etc. A first edition of a Dickens' book adorned a post by our table.

Cool pub dating back to 1300s?…read more Fish and chips were great. Price was okay given its a popular and historic spot. Beer was excellent and prices reasonable Only complaint was the dining area was extremely quiet on a Friday afternoon. A little strange for a pub

The history alone makes it worth visiting, and the location is perfect if you're exploring the area. It feels very classic London in the best way. We stopped in for a pint and honestly... the whole after-work beer culture over there is something I really need to bring back with me to the States. The beer was great, the atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and it just felt like one of those places where people naturally gather and stay awhile. Definitely worth stopping into if you're in the area.

Two story space - the ground floor feature the bar and handles walk in lunch; the upstairs is a dining room for those with reservations. Fun fact, as part of the history, the pub used to be the host of bare knuckle fights and had regulars like Charles Dickens. Wildfarmed sourdough - served with whipped salted butter and Guinness butter. Well toasted bread and the butters with salt were well made. Fuller's London Pride marinated steak and ale pie - served with seasonal veggies and red wine gravy, as well as either mash potatoes or triple cooked chips. If there is one dish London does really well, it's their pies. It was beautifully made and loaded with steak. The red wine gravy was decadent and added a perfect amount of moisture to the pie. Triple cooked chips were perfectly crispy but fluffy on the inside. Corn fed chicken breast - served with garlic and sage butter, mash potato, cavolo nero, and crispy onions. Only took a bite of this as it was my partner's dish but the bite of chicken I had was very juicy and well seasoned.
