Cute little wine shop, grocery, deli and convenience store rolled into one.
Their immaculately presented storefront with baskets of fresh fruit, hanging strings of chili peppers and garlic--immediately draws in passerby. The crimson chilies, tawny apricots, bright yellow and orange citrus, vermilion tomatoes, green and red grapes, deep purple plums create a veritable rainbow of textures and colors.
On a weekday afternoon in Positano this place was bustling inside: a group of high school kids picking up sandwiches for lunch from the deli counter, a steady flow of tourists looking for a cool drink and snack, maybe some wine and cheese for an afternoon on the beach.
To the left of the entrance is a raised section up a couple stairs to an area with wine and liquor. Immediately inside to the right and left are food souvenirs (limoncello, pasta), cookies and snacks, a range of nuts and dried/canned items. Further to the right is a chilled drink fridge, on the right back a deli counter where you can order all manner of paninis. Their selection of cheese and cured meats looked appealing!
I had only a brief interaction with staff when checking out so can't really comment on service, though the high schoolers seemed satisfied with their sandwiches that I saw them eating outside afterwards. read more
