This little Wing Stop offers some delicious wings in Ajax backed by amazing service. The prices are very good for the amount of wings and fries in a single combo (with drink!). The wings are breaded, crispy, and the sauce takes them over the top. The fries have bite, and they're golden brown. But all of this pales in comparison to the incredible service. One woman is working hard running the front of the house and take-out while the cook runs the kitchen in the back. Two people are absolutely rocking the place. My only gripe is the bathrooms need a bit of a helping hand, the toilet paper ran out and they need some cleaning. I really love the wings here and I'll be back for more! read more

I found The Wing Spot on Yelp. On Saturday, I decided to have lunch here after running some errands in Ajax. Where there are wings, there's me. The Wing Spot is next door to Sunset Grill. I love Sunset Grill. For a brief second, I had thought about going right. Instead, I stuck to my gameplan and went left. The place was empty just before 2 pm. I decided to dine in. There were plenty of booths and NCAA basketball games were on all TVs. My server was great, but perhaps too chatty. He told me that they were short-staffed and that he was working extra hours. Um, okay. I got a menu and took a look. I went with the single deal, which is a pound of wings (you choose one flavour only), with fries and veggies, and a can of pop. I didn't see the fries and veggies part until my server let me know. So, his chattiness did help. He also let me know that this place has been open since December 2018. I asked for gravy for the fries. It was going for $2. I was game. I also went with garlic explosion for my wings. I got my food pretty fast. He also came back with napkins and cutlery, as they were missing at the table. The wings were hot, crispy, and packed with flavour. I loved the garlic explosion so much that I ended up dipping my fries in the gravy, and then rolling them in what was left of the garlic explosion mix in my basket. So good! The gravy was delicious! It came piping hot and made regular fries a ton better. The veggies consisted of one carrot stick and one celery stick. If you are looking for a serving of veggies, you aren't getting them here. It came with ranch dressing, which was good. The garlic flavour lingered in my mouth for nearly two hours. It's a good sign of deliciousness for me. Sure, you will die if I breath on you, but that's a risk that you may need to take. The server had obviously worked more hours than he should have. He let me know that he was leaving and apologized for perhaps looking unprofessional. I completely understood and his heart was in the right place. The downside was the pass-off between this server, the guy in the kitchen, and the new guy taking over serving duties. I heard my server talk to the kitchen guy that I was in the dining area. The kitchen guy didn't tell the new guy. So, I didn't get any service. Instead, I went up to the counter and asked for my bill. I don't blame the new server taking over. He didn't know. There needs to be better communication between staff members, so that customers are not left hanging. This place accepts debit and credit cards, and cash. I paid with a debit card. The washroom is unisex. There is only one. It was clean and spacious. There were tons of hooks to hang up your jacket or purse, which I appreciated. I felt comfortable eating here. There were lots of games to watch and the booth was roomy. I'd come back here again. There were many folks ordering takeout. Food quality was good. The chicken wing order was fresh, hot and crispy. Where the places looses points is the interior. Tables had a sticky feeling to their surface and the bathroom wasn't clean with garbage in the floor and paper towel dispenser broken. Mostly take out we're being process while I was there. This is exactly what Durham needed.! I was in the mood for some wings, so as usual went on yelp and came across this new wing place so i decided to try it out. Decor 4/5 Lots of Toronto sports pictures and themes here. Many TV's also. So it kinda has a bar atmosphere, but it isn't. There are places to sit as well. Service 5/5 The guy at the counter was very friendly and took a moment to explain the variety of flavours/sauces available. It made me wanna try everything, but was also thinking about the workout the next day . But wow, many flavours especially those with and Indian/Sri Lankan twist. Food 5/5 I ordered a pound of the spicy gar par for takeout. It was rated 2/4 for spicyness. Couldn't wait to get home and try it and throughout the ride home the smell in the car was intoxicating. A small and quaint place with amazing wings and great service. If you love spicy wings, this is the place to be at. We ordered "town of Jaffna" and "knock out garlic" wings flavours and I can tell you they were amazing. Mind you, you need to be able to handle spice :) The chilli onion fries were amazing as well and complimented the wings. Will definitely be coming back for more. read more

Great!!! i went there with my little brother during the NBA Playoffs. So you know it was busy. Nevertheless we still got our wings within 10-15 mins. The wait isn't that long at all, the restaurant is a decent size. I tried the lemon pepper wings and they smacked( taste good). They have a whole lot of flavours so be specific when you choose. So I ordered from here a little while back; they got my ceaser salad order wrong (asked for dressing on the side, instead doused it with so much dressing it was inedible). I called & told them and they said no pblm they'd credit me for next time. Went to order wings & salad today and they would not honour the credit! They said "I'm not in their system". Really? Like I'm going out of my way to scam them for a salad?? She said the best they could do would be to SELL me said salad w the wings. The fact that they would not honour their credit irks me to no end. Our new fave spot for wings and it doesnt hurt that its literally 3min drive from our house! If you are a wing lover you will certainly appreciate the big selection of wing flavors! Fried to golden crisp perfection and not stingy on the flavors/seasonings at all. We got a pound of garlic cajun and the wing special which was a pound of spicy garlic parm with a side of onion pepper fries or something like that. We also got a kids order of fries and chicken tenders... everything came quick but not cold and tasted yummy. Staff was friendly, venue was clean, complete with nba sports memorabilia and pictures with TVs to watch your fave sports. Its not a super huge place to eat but you dont expect to be there long anyway. Take Out Review: The good... the flavour of the wings is very good. We had the mild and the garlic parmesan and they tasted great. The bad... we had a takeout order and after a 5 minute drive, taking our coats off etc.. the wings were kind of cold. So you may want to eat them at the restaurant. Another thing was we asked for the fries and onion rings to be "Well Done" and they weren't. When they are well done they tend to be less soggy when getting things to go. The fries are also generic frozen fries, the same with the onion rings. Nothing special there. Great flavour of the wings though.. looks like a great selection. I asked my wife if she'd want to eat in the restaurant next time and she said "No, it has a weird smell.. too many spices mixed together". So who knows. First time here and the ONLY reason it's not a 5-star for me is that I wish they would allow you to mix the flavors. Should be no more than 2 flavors a pound. Other than that, the choices are overwhelming (good thing) but definitely a nice spot. This is my first time in Toronto. read more

I ordered a combo of wings and fries for take out. When I got home the fries were super crispy on the outside and soggy in the inside as if they were sitting under a heat lamp. Please -- the very least you can do is put frozen fries in hot oil at the time of ones order to offer the Illusion of hot fresh food. The wing flavor I chose was hot honey garlic - the flavor was all hot tabasco sauce and no sweat taste at at. Ordered spicy garlic parm wings and chili onion fries. The wings were soggy and not crispy. The spicy taste was just very vinegary. My fries which i was excited to try were dry and tasted stale. The sauce n seasoning was good but the fries didnt't taste fresh. I felt like neither the fries nor wings were fresh. Like they make it eary and just reheat in the microwave. If you want good wings in Durham this is the spot to go. Lots of great flavours. Great south Asian and Caribbean flavours. Been coming since they opened. Spicy Jerk was our go to and this time we tried the Kansas Knockout and Spicy Dill. Food is always hot, wings are a good size. I prefer drums, and the wife prefers flats and they accommodated both of us. Nice little hangout for a sports night or date. Never had bad service in all our visits. read more
