Ordered the Carolina BBQ Chicken Poutine and the pigskin appetizer. The pigskins were good. The pulled pork a little chewy and some pieces charred on the ends, but good flavor and definitely stuffed The poutine was a large portion. Lots of sauce and chicken pieces. Personally I would have preferred shredded chicken but my other half liked the chicken pieces. The BBQ sauce is smokey. And the cheese curds were extra cheesy. It was a good visit but I was kind of hoping to be WoW'd since I've heard so many great things. Definitely good . I'll give them another try on some other dishes . read more

Excellent food served in generous portions. The gravy in the poutine is delicious, and there's more than enough for a good appetite. Even the "mini" sampler patters are massive, and more than enough for all but the largest of appetites. We found the corn bread to be a bit too dry, even for corn bread, but once dipped in gravy or beans it softens up and isn't as dry tasting. We've only been the one time, but will definitely be back. read more

I ventured out to Whitby on a shopping trip and was happy to come across Big Bone BBQ & Wicked Wings, a restaurant I'm familiar with from their Markham location. I was one of only two diners at the time. Maybe I missed the lunch rush? I ordered a pound of the Original Smoked Wings (my favourite) with fries and coleslaw. It arrived fairly quickly and tasted every bit as good as I expected - cooked just right without being too smoky. Yummy! The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. I have been to this place so many times because I love it. I ordered the Elvis combo (1/2 lb wings, 1/2 pulled pork, 3 bones of ribs, plus the fixings). They were happy to substitute my fries for extra beans. The cornbread was sweet and the bbq sauce tastes fantastic. I always order their grilled wings and am never disappointed. The wait time is usually long (about 30-45 minutes), but it's because they are cooking everything fresh there. read more

Love this place. Good management. Great specials. And the hottest wing sauce is intense. I love spice so I like how they didn't chicken out from spice. My only thought is that the next heat level down should be a bit hotter. It's too much of a jump in spice. Also I would love spicier or different bbq options for the pulled pork. I used to come here weekly to take advantage of their Monday special. I must have needed a break cause I haven't been here in a few years. I forgot how tasty their sauces are. I ordered the Elvis which includes the pulled pork 4/5, ribs 4/5, smoked wings 5/5, coleslaw 3/5, cornbread and fries disqualified based on keto diet. I tried their Alabama slamma sauce 5/5, perfect sweet to tang balance. Rasta jerk 1/5, awful I do not recommend.the last one I tried was inferno 911 3/5, if you enjoy spicy this one is not hot. 5 stars for the ribs! My partner and I often frequent the ribfests around the GTA but now have finally seen the light and realized that delicious ribs are just a short drive away! The ribs were tender and saucy, just the way we like them! They also have a bit of char, which adds to the smokey flavour. Frings are available when you get a platter so just ask for them if the waitress doesn't mention it. Extra sauces are $1 each. I wouldn't recommend the poutine or gravy here as I found the gravy bland. Definitely get the ribs and you won't be disappointed! They only have steamwhistle on tap. My normal BBQ place was closed and I had a hankering for some wings. I walked in to a Monday special that looked so good, I couldn't resist. It was a wing and rib combo and it was absolutely fantastic. This might be competing for my favourite bbq place, which makes me feel a bit ashamed - but also excited. It's not quite like cheating (other than on my diet) but it does feel a bit that way. Staff were super nice and it was cool to see an option out in this area of town. The ribs were fantastic and big. Not really much of a BBQ guy, but decided to give this place a try since my friend was very insistent that this place is a must try. Needless to say, he was right! I had an order of ribs which was incredible. Every bite I took was packed with flavour. It had a sweet and savoury taste and was very tender and moist, which I can't say for some of the BBQ places I've been to. Definitely want to get another order of ribs soon. The beans were just as good and were an amazing side dish to the ribs. The portion size of the beans was perfect as it complimented the ribs quite well. It's a good thing the portion size wasn't any bigger cause I probably could've ate just the beans alone with how delicious they were. The fries were immaculate. Golden brown with a beautiful crunch in every bite. Not too salty, and just the perfect amount doneness to them. Also, having the fries scrape off some of the BBQ sauce off the ribs is a great idea if it's too much sauce for you! Last but not least is the corn bread. They were out of the cole slaw which was a little unfortunate, so I decided to get some corn bread. This was the only thing I didn't enjoy as much as the other parts of this meal. The bread was a little dry and didn't really taste that great, but it definitely isn't something that breaks my 5 star review. Hopefully next time there's some slaw for me to taste since it's what I would've preferred... Or maybe I should grab some extra beans instead. The food portions are insane and soooo filling, I love their sauces but a personal favourite is always garlic / Parmesan. The wings are always going to be a favourite for me. Big Bone has become my preferred wing joint in Whitby after our most recent experience. We called in an order of wings for dinner tonight. We had gone back and forth about whether to get the smoked wings or fried wings and decided on two orders of fried wings, two different flavors, fries and one slice of cornbread (for me). They were busy but quoted us about 25 minutes - the best part about this place is the location. I don't have to go far to get my wing fix so not only is it a shorter trip, but the food stays hot. When I chatted with the guy on the phone and started to place my order, he asked me whether we were doing smoked or fried. After a bit of a chat, we decided to go with 1lb fried honey garlic wings and 1lb of their smoked wings in their house bbq sauce, fries and cornbread. He really sold me on the virtues of the smoked wing so we had to try them again - nice to see a business passionate about their signature product. When we arrived, there was a bit of confusion with our order but it got sorted out pretty fast. We didn't wait more than a few minutes before our food was done. When we left, I asked my hubby to check to make sure my cornbread was in there and unfortunately it wasn't. I went back in and asked for it and the guy felt bad and gave me a whole loaf! After this meal, we're really torn as to which wings we liked better. The smoked wings were deliciously smokey and they've been finished on the grill so they've got that grilled taste/grill marks and char and their house sauce is great. But the fried wings are equally as good - nice and crispy and just the right amount of sauce. I think we'll have to stick with this order of half and half because I'm sure I'll regret it if we didn't get one or the other. The only complaint I have is that the smoked wings could have been hotter. I'm a big fries girl, anything goes with fries, and I reeeeeeally like these fries. They're the kind of fries that are delicious when they're hot, but you can keep eating them even after they're warm or even cold. Great to grab any leftover wing sauce off your plate. And then... there was the cornbread. Oh my.... this cornbread is incredible. Thick thick thick slices, the top is sprinkled with just the right amount of sugar... slather on a nice thick layer of butter and I'm in heaven. I could seriously eat this stuff for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm soooo lucky that I got a whole loaf to enjoy!! I think I'll make point of stopping in just to get the cornbread from time to time. Overall, excellent visit and its definitely cemented Big Bone as our new local wing joint. The staff here really care about their product and your enjoyment of their food. First time -pulled pork nachos were good. Second time smoked wings were good, pulled pork nachos were very disappointing; no consistency in quality. Third and LAST time... The owner wasn't there today - the girl at the cash didn't seem to careless. Ordered a party pack - got home to find the coleslaw was missing as was the sauce for the wing. And as the pulled pork contained was weighing down on the fries container - they were squished and soggy. The corn bread was stale and the beans tasted like they were from a can. Waste of $50. I have been coming here every opportunity I get to come to Whitby and each and every time is a great experience. I usually order the BBQ chicken sandwich and it's always amazing. I rotate my sides between fries or caesar salad. Alongside one of those choices comes some coleslaw and beans, but you can swap either of those out for a slice of cornbread. Asides from that service is always great and friendly. The staff is always more than willing to answer any questions you may have, or make suggestions if need be. Smoked wings and garden salad, since the fries come in frozen... The wings were terrible... flabby and no real smoke taste. The BBQ sauce made it worse, liquid smoke and artificial flavours. So looking forward to trying Big Bone BBQ. I arrived on a Saturday evening around 5:00 p.m. for take out to to try the ribs. At first, they look amazing and the first bight you taste the sauce and smoke, which was very good. Good BBQ ribs should be fall off the bone and these did not live up to this very important factor. The ribs were tough and impossible to eat. The sides were good and that is about all I can say. If my dog could review, I am sure he would say they were amazing, however $29.00 for a rack is very expensive for quality fit for a dog. read more
