I've been living here for just under 2 years. Here is the most honest review you'll get of this place. Is this a luxury building. No it's not but it is what every other "luxury" building promotes some amenities like a gym that will get the job done and a lounge area for guests with a pool table and few broken sticks that need to be replaced. Yes the walls are incredibly thin, you could hear someone sneeze in the bathroom, yes the appliances are cheap, just like every other rental in the state 9 times out of 10. BUTTT the apartment itself is very nice and roomy for 2400ish of course this may vary but as of 2025-26 a 1 bed room 820 sqft is a pretty solid deal here, i went to Sofi down the street there apartment was smaller, dirtier and cost more. I like the tallish ceilings about 9ft, the side I stayed on I got lucky I had pretty nice neighbors, but the side where the gym is and main entrance does smell like marijuana all the time. Everytime i walk by it was super loud always random apartments playing music and because of the thin walls I can see how that is an issue to many people. You do live by the swamp if you decide to move here so the smell is pretty awful during the summer but doesn't seep into the apartment at least I have not had that issue. Maintenance is ok, they are pretty lazy but as expected they try to push the work as much as possible. The garbage room used to be disgusting over the weekends but I will say it has gotten much better. The front is great however, Maya is super nice and responsive at least to me she has been. If you need to be in north jersey looking for something that relatively big with "modern" cheap luxury this place is not bad at all. I've toured the corner apts with the view of the city is very nice a bit more pricey but still cheaper than a lot of surrounding spots. Honestly 3.5/5 is as honest of a review you'll get. If you're not a POS person you'll get a long great with management and you won't really have many issues than any common apartment issues Reading the other reviews about people being evicted for no reason is highly unlikely and seems like they were more of the issue rather than the place itself. Run if you can. I needed an apartment as soon as possible . So I applied for multiple building which I didn't know was the same management. On the application, there is a clause of $500 for holding fee that can't be refunded which I didn't know because I thought if you apply and don't get the apartment. They should refund the Holding fee. For almost 2 weeks , there was no approval or denial on my application. Mind you, I needed an apartment as soon as possible. Then I found another apartment that approved me in 2 days . I called them to know why my application was pending but couldn't get an answer , so I told them I was no longer interested. They told me to send a written response that I was no longer interested. Meanwhile, this was done so that I wouldn't get my holding fee. $500 and I had no idea. They refused to refund my holding fee, like I said earlier , I applied to another building that I didn't know was owned by them. So I lost $1000 all because they didn't approve me on- time . I am glad I never even lease with them because that was DECEITFUL. BEWARE Once you apply , you are not getting your holding fee back . read more

I lived at the Winston for over two years and would not recommend this place to anyone. The apartments were built with very inexpensive materials and things constantly break. They used to have a very good, polite and responsive Maintenance staff but they fired them in the middle of COVID. The management team is a constant carousel of one inexperienced person to the next that will not take care of any issues, major or minor. I had over $400 of packages stolen out of the package room from a resident who still lives in the building. The Winston's management team told me they couldn't do anything about it and I had to get the police involved. The common areas are never clean and the upkeep of the entire complex is sub par. The building is about 2 years old and it looks about 10 years old based on how management and the residents treat it. You will not get your security deposit back from this management company either. You are charged for amenities but there are none, besides the very small gym. If you see positive reviews it's because the management team pays people to write them with gift cards. This place is garbage. The staff is terrible, the building is horribly maintained. MAIL ROOM & DOG PARK Package room has been unlocked with the door handle broken for MONTHS. "Secure package room" is fucking bullshit. When last asked about this, it was claimed that the "part was ordered and would be fixed asap". That was 3 months ago and nothing has been fixed. Anyone can walk in and take anything. Let alone when holiday season rolls around and packages start getting dumped in the lobby. The dog park never gets cleaned, many pups have gotten sick from being in there. The dog gate has been broken for almost a full year as well. CLEANLINESS/SMOKE Be aware that 20% of the building is qualified as subsidized housing. You're paying luxury fees for a building where no one cares. People don't pick up after their pets, the place is constantly trashed - food droppings in the elevator, garbage everywhere in the trash room. The carpets don't ever get properly cleaned so you get to just follow the nice trash juice trails down the hall. And if they salt for snow? Enjoy that salt crust for all time, ours hasn't even come close to being cleaned from LAST year yet. Walls and floors falling apart. Dogs pee on walls and no one ever cleans. ALSO as a supposedly "smoke free" facility, there hasn't been a single day where I have not smelled smoke (cigs or pot) since I've been here. NOISE Good luck if your neighbors are loud (we hear ours argue everyday). The alarm problem finally stopped but for around 9 months, went off at random, CONSTANTLY. People don't even leave anymore for it since they think it's always false. There is NO situational awareness on any part (think peeling wheels in the driveway at 2/3/4AM). AMENITIES You pay a fee for what? A gym with 1/2 broken equipment, a "great" common space that's constantly trashed. A kid's playroom with no toys. They'll try to counter with "you forgot our XYZ great space." Nothing's great. I promise. THE OFFICE The maintenance team is decent but management is a complete joke. If there's one thing that's really the icing on top of the cake, it's this team. Management office hours are quoted as 9-6 (or 9-5 depending where you look) but no one is even there by 4. They claim to be, good luck catching them. If you can catch them, buckle in. Your first encounter is super friendly- promises to fix it and work on it. Any time you bring up an issue again, they immediately get defensive and take no responsibility for fixing or addressing any problem. Responses get less and less frequent, to the point where they straight up ignore you. They'll tell you wrong info just to appease you in the moment. Residents are bribed with gift cards & liquor to write good reviews. The property manager herself posted a five star review on Google while not taking care of any of the complaints being brought up - joke's on you sis, everyone knows. ETC Let's keep going shall we? The lights in the parking lot are constantly broken which wouldn't be such a big deal if people weren't peeling in and pulling out at 40 mph. There's constantly This is NOT a luxury apartment. I've lived here a little over a year now. The staff is great and responsive. There aren't enough gracious and wonderful things I can say about Karolina. She is probably the only reason I put up with all the other crazy things in this place. Living here has its pros but if you work remotely from home or tend to be a homebody, the cons will probably catch up to you first. Pros: 1) Responsive leasing/maintenance team 2) Good neighborhood 3) Access to major highways (turnpike, garden state, rt 3, and rt 17) 4) Easy Access to NYC by car/public transportation 5) Adequate gym on premises 6) Restaurant options in neighboring towns 7) Conveniently located near groceries, pharmacies, and gas stations Cons: 1) Building Fire alarms used to go off so often and for the slightest reasons. Would cause full evacuations. 2) Construction on this place is so poorly done. Walls are paper thin. Next door neighbors sound like they are in your apartment. The neighbors upstairs sound like they are stomping around day and night with cement slabs on their feet. 3) To add to the construction piece, every now and then I'll find shortcuts made on the build. I'll notice missing screws here and there. For a new construct, things shouldn't really be falling apart. It's aesthetically pleasing, but quality seriously lacks in all corners of the unit. 4) Package room tends to be disastrous. You never really know if a package is there, the mail room, or the main lobby. 5) Only the main elevator's appearance is well maintained. Side/alternate elevators don't even look like they get vacuumed. 6) Still don't have a way to buzz guests in. Doorbell was never properly programmed. So for over a year I have been walking the 1000 steps from my unit to the lobby to meet people or to pickup food deliveries. For the amount of rent paid here, I expect a better quality of life. Noise levels result in virtually no sleep. Complaints regarding noise are left unaddressed. Ultimately the staff can't do anything about it, just boils down to having a few neighbors lacking common courtesy. read more

We moved into the Winston on April 29. Upon doing the initial walkthrough, we noticed a broken window in one of the bedrooms. The window has three large cracks that stretch across the whole window which someone decided to hold together by some type of tape. Despite paying full price for a two-bedroom apartment and the obvious safety concerns resulting from a damaged window, the window has still not been fixed (as of May 28). We have been told that the window would be repaired on multiple occasions. The individual who is supposed to replace the window has repeatedly just failed to show up (at least 5 times), including yesterday. He did show up once last week to check on the broken window....and determined that it was in fact broken. The situation is a shame because I'd probably have rated this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the window issue (the staff are friendly, communicative, and hardworking, the place has no other major issues, etc). The issue appears to be with the company that they use to replace/repair windows. With that said, the Winston might want to reevaluate the companies that they work with. Considering that this issue would likely result in a lawsuit in the event that someone got hurt from a window shattering, I cannot imagine how long it would take to get someone out here to fix something more benign like a broken air conditioner. read more

I am still a resident here who got stuck in this bad place, don't get me wrong the maintenance team is good but unfortunately the leasing office people are so so irresponsible... so so doing nothing that makes me leave this one star here. So I have reported this strong marijuana smell INSIDE out apartment space for months and they couldn't do anything about it! I've lived here for over three years and I'm never picky, but currently I have a pregnant wife at home who is smelling this second hand smoke EVERYDAY, I'm very very desperate right now cuz the people from leasing office have tried yelling at me, calling me trying to shut me up, and now they don't even respond to any words I say... I'm trying to leave but stuck in current lease which they don't let you go unless you pay two months rents... if anyone is seeing this and you are currently looking for apartments to LIVE, don't even think about coming here, so so arrogant leasing office people here. I've been living at the Winston Lyndhurst for a year now. I honestly don't know where to start After 5 months Into me staying here that's when it all started. Garbage room Constantly Is filled with so much garbage it's all over the floor. I believe it's a health hazard How dirty it is. On top of that The walls are super thin It seems like it's just a peice of sheet rock between you and the next door neighbor. You constantly smell marijuana in the hallway. Maintenance used to be prompt when I 1st moved in now it takes a couple of days for them to answer your request. The club room the playroom is always dirty They don't clean it on a regular basis. Honestly I believe when they do clean up It's because someone is coming to see apartment for rent. Don't know where to start. It was a horrible year living there. Everyone needs to check with the local police department before considering living there. The element that lives there makes the place a dump. People leave garbage all over, don't pick up after their dogs inside and outside the building, smoking on the premises when it's a smoke free building, visitor parking is never available and nobody has respect for others. For the amount of rent they charge none of this should be happening. It's a shame that a brand new building is treated this way. read more
