Arnold Turner is terribly unprofessional. I asked him to please not tell jokes like that, and he defended the action by saying "but they laughed", AFTER I told him that they were so deeply offended that they would rather abandon a property they loved than pay his office a dime. His tone-deafness is a liability in 2020. I asked to please work with another agent from the office, and he connected me with Matt Mulcahy. He and I worked wonderfully together until he took a new position at Keller Williams (I highly recommend him). I was told I would transition to Jesse. Instead, Arnold took it upon himself, after I had made that boundary very clear. When I voiced my opposition to this, Arnold contacted my Ex Husband (they are aquatinted) to discuss and circumvent me. My former spouse has had ZERO to do with my property for over 6 months. The misogyny and disrespect for women in particular is not something I will tolerate and was the reason for the termination of our real estate contract. I should have known exactly what the situation was when I heard him refer to the women who do ALL of the hard work at his office as "my girls". These are professional grown women who keep his business operational. Not *anyones* "girls". Or to his farm employees as "my hired-men". It took me a while to figure out why this didn't sit well with me. It's because "hired-man" is a descriptor connoting that this person is indeed being paid, as opposed to the tradition of unpaid farm labor, aka, slavery. Over the last 140 years or so, "employee" has become part of the common vernacular to create equality for every person who receives a paycheck. This is only the tip of the "Iceberg of Disrespect" that is Arnold Turner. If you are looking for a great realtor, I recommend Matt Mulcahy of Keller Williams.

However, after talking with several friends and associates, who had rented homes before selling, I became fairly certain I would rent the property for two years and then sell. If the property sold within three years after I first moved out, I would be protected from considerable capital gains taxes. With this in mind, I decided to work with an agent who could seamlessly switch from property management to seller's agent. During the several months, when I was updating and renovating the property, the real estate market fell into greater turmoil than it had already been in. Once again, I changed my mind and decided to just sell. After dickering somewhat extensively with one set of potential buyers, I finally told Dave that, if those potential buyers wanted a further concession of so much as one penny (I made it clear I MEANT exactly this), he should not tell me. All I wanted to hear from him in that case was, "The house is going back on the market. What we need to discuss is whether to put it back for sale or rent. Given these circumstances, it was likely clear to the buyer's agent that he (Dave) would lose nothing, if the house were rented and then later sold. The buyer's agent, however, would also know they would only get a commission if the house were sold.
