Meanwhile, five people recently overdosed in the 55+ building. Cause and effect? You do the math. The ringleader of most of this chaos is the building's self-declared live-in prostitute--an older woman who wears adult diapers, a crooked wig, thick glasses, and hobbles from door to door. Her apartment reek of marijuana and cigarette smoke, and she's often seen wandering in slippers, stirring up drama, and "entertaining" whoever will have her. Not only is she the loudest and most visible tenant, but she's also the main instigator. She inserts herself in everyone's business, spreads lies, and creates tension between neighbors. It would be comical if it weren't so disgusting. Don't expect to have privacy. If you file a police report or speak with the office, somehow your full name, apartment number, and even driver's license information will end up in the wrong hands. This same wig-wearing woman will take it upon herself to print out your information and distribute it, all while spinning personal narratives about how you pay your rent. I once had her tell people I was living off a "trust fund," as if that was any of her business or remotely true. To make matters worse, you may or may not still have a car in the morning. Vehicle break-ins are routine here. What started with teenagers calling themselves the "Kia Boys" has shifted to bitter, unemployed tenants with too much time and too little maturity. They don't care about your cameras--these people just put on the same grimy hoodie and stab at your vehicle with a screwdriver. They don't even wait until midnight; some start their destruction at 5 or 6 in the morning. And if you think management will help? Think again. They won't let you install motion lights or floodlights at your own expense. That's right--you're expected to live in a community plagued with vandalism and still park your car in a pitch-black lot. When asked for lighting or better security, the best they've come up with is hiring part-time guards. These include an elderly man who disappears after a day or two, or a frail woman who parks, sits on the trunk of her car, smokes Kool cigarettes, argues with her baby daddy, then leaves early because she "has better things to do." Add to that a rotating door of ineffective property managers--five to eight in just a few years. One was even arrested on site alongside a tenant after a physical altercation. Mugshots exist. Meanwhile, maintenance is spotty, trash piles up inside and outside, and nothing meaningful gets addressed. It's common to see tenants blocking entrances, drinking in groups, or using stolen City of Columbus traffic cones as fake parking permits. We kept in close contact with the facility, coordinating our visit. When we arrived to collect the keys, we expected compassion, or at the very least, professionalism. Instead, a family member was told to enter the apartment--alone--only to be confronted with the raw and horrifying aftermath of our loved one's death. No warning. No preparation. No dignity. There were bodily remnants still present in the unit. The room was untouched. No one thought to mention this to us. No one prepared us. That moment--shocking, traumatic, and completely preventable--will never be forgotten. i moved in jan 2018 nelsonville commons nelsonville ohio. drywall dust covered everything. drywall dust and debris blowing out of ducts. i complained to manager. i was told if i did not like it to move out. the two managers were very disrespectful to me. they told me i could pay someone to come in and clean the furnace and ducts but they will do nothing. (which is not my responsibility) i had airclaws in the unit on 4-16-18. the man had to clean the furnace twice. it was caked in drywall dust. they allowed me to move in the unit caked in drywall dust. he could not clean the ducts because he said they did not do that work. it was and is horrible. i have continuously complained to management and maintenace man. they deny the problem. i sweep the drywall dust everyday and clean the counters. i have a receipt from airclaws for cleaned indoor coil pleated filters to catch drywall wood dust in systems for 95 dollars. i need to be reimbursed for 95 dollars. i am having health problems from breathing in drywall and wood dust. i have been spitting up blood. my lungs hurt. i have terrible headaches. my eyes get the material in them causing eye problems. my eyes burn. it also blows in my mouth and my teeth hurt. i have sinus problems. my ears hurt. i cannot cook or eat in the the unit. i don't have the money to move. i have tried to sleep in my car to get away from it but it is to cold. i pay my rent early. on 2-21-20, i had dales cleaning service in the unit to clean the ducts. i have the receipt. he said the drywall dust was bad. i paid him 210. dollars and still owe him 150. dollars. i need to be reimbursed. again, this is not my responsibility. i am still sweeping up wood chips and drywall. the furnace and ducts were caked in drywall dust when i moved in. i believe the ducts were not sealed properly and it is picking up drywall in walls or upper level. i am on the second floor. since the duct work cleaning the air has been worse in the unit. after complaining for two years nothing has been done. i contacted district manager on two different occasions. recently, and no phone call back to me. i have called the corporate office and no response back. i would like to speak with the owner directly. read more

I recently lived at Wheatland Crossing II apartments, and my experience was less than satisfactory. The noise level is unbearable, thanks to paper-thin walls that offer no sound insulation. The overall maintenance and construction quality of the place are subpar. Despite being advertised as a non-smoking community, the strong odors of cigarettes and marijuana permeate the air. To add to the frustration, the once-promised trash valet services are now being discontinued. Not the living experience I expected, and I cannot recommend it. read more
