I had a great experience with the folks at this location. I sprained my ankle on a Friday and was able to get an appointment through virtual booking that next Monday. The office is in an older, unassuming building but well kept. The front desk staff were really friendly, courteous, and prompt. My appointment started on time, and since I had completed paperwork online before the visit, there was no unnecessary delay. The assistants who checked on vitals and do a pre-doctor screening were all helpful, efficient, and kept me updated on the status of the doctor's timing to the room. There was minimal wait between who saw me. Dr. Gormley was gregarious, punctual, and thorough, making reasonable recommendations, although he dresses very sloppily---oversized pants, unkempt facial hair, one panel of a buttoned-down shirt hanging off the belt. I was so impressed with my visit today. From the moment I walked in the door I was met with a super friendly smile and highly efficient service. I was greeted immediately and then taken right back for needed x-rays. The courteous service continued with the x-ray technician as she explained everything she was doing. Once in the exam room she continued to provide excellent care asking questions and listening with intention. Then Dr. Gromley (sp) entered and provided thorough details upon review of my x-rays. He gave me multiple options for treatment and future care of my injury. I felt completely heard and encouraged in the care and input he Provided. Finally, the lady that handles the insurance portion came in to explain my benefits. She was kind and lovely. I would recommend this practice without hesitation. Dr. McCormack is an incredible doctor. She listened and was able to diagnose my chronic foot pain in the first visit. She prescribed insoles and braces and a month later the pain is SO MUCH BETTER. I'm continuing the stretches and can see a dramatic difference. She listens, is kind, personable, and very good at what she does. The office staff is friendly and kind. Terrible bed side manner. They only want to make money off of you. After reviewing my MRI (several (not one) torn ligaments and achilles in my foot, they offered two of their most expensive in house treatments. One of which was not covered by my insurance. And yet, they refused to even prescribe me anti-inflammatory pain medication while I make a decision. It felt like I was at a McDonalds where they just want to super-size your combo meal or offer you something special on the menu and tell you to step to the left to wait for your order. I didn't feel like they cared at all. Shame. Never again. read more

Jingles aside, it's almost comical how clumsy & accident prone I am but, thankfully..... The Laurel Foot & Ankle center is still tending to my "glass" feet & ankle needs, 16 years after my first major tumble & injury and they have gotten better and better by the year. They're people focused instead of payments focused and make you feel prioritized through offering top notch solutions and expert diagnoses. I appreciate that they have in-house x-rays and therapeutic footwear & accessories right on site and that they have continued to upgrade and enhance the technology & services available in their office over the years. I always feel confident I'm receiving the best & most thorough podiatry treatment available in the DMV during my visits with Dr. Klein (or Dr. Fine because he's a looker, ladies LOL). Dr. Klein takes his time to hear out your troubles and concerns and assesses your ailments with a higher level of commitment to correcting your issues, than any foot doctor I've ever seen. He didn't just brush me off and suggest I'd just have to permanently deal with the daily pain and after effects from an injury I sustained a few years ago, like the surgeon that performed my ankle arthroscopy did. Best of all, he's very down to Earth and is a very straight shooter, but explains things in layman's terms with a little bit of humor and a side of Southern charm sprinkled in..... that's when he's not off flying planes for his piloting company, which is now making me reevaluate my own personal daily productivity deficits LOL. Dr. Klein is truly a gem, but the best part about Laurel Foot & Ankle Center is indisputably his office staff. The lovely ladies of LFAC are the most personable and professional women of any doctor's office I've EVER visited. My patient experience with Nina & her front desk team has been superb and without fault, consistently for more than a decade. I first visited this office as a teenager and remember thinking back then, how great Nina was and she hasn't changed a bit. Everlyne, Rachel, Dee, and all of Dr. Klein's team are always truly a pleasure to encounter which is refreshing when coming to an appointment for pain. I can't recommend this team enough. read more

I will not recommend this place. I've never experienced such excruciating pain after my first visit because I was told to wear the night splint during the night. I suffered so much pain for a couple of nights, that I had to stop wearing it because I could not stand the pain, not to mention the loss of sleep. I found out that I only need to wear it for half an hour at night. Then I was offered to buy a Plantar Fascitis black boots for walking for $200, I declined, then they came back and offered $75, so I agreed, to find out later that I could've purchased the same item or similar item for much much less! Similar to the first item, the night splint was less than $21.95 at Amazon. After about 6 weeks I was told that the pain would ease, unfortunately, I feel worse then before. I can't even stand up for a longer than 5 minutes or less, much more walk, but not without the help of some homeopathy meds! Don't waste your time and money here, because I did. Now I am considering other options. In addition, I thought that since their visit charge was pretty high, that my insurance would not be involved but apparently up to now they are still collecting from my poor insurance, even though I believe that I had already paid for them, such as the visits and the so-called supplies. Therefore, do not have regrets, go somewhere else you c an trust. read more

Two of my young children needed to see a podiatrist. We found Dr. McCormack through our insurance carrier, and she is FANTASTIC! She was very patient with my highly active six year old, and she entertained his elaborate imagination. She was exceedingly patient with my shy and quiet ten year old. I should have read these reviews before even trying to make an appointment- guess they didn't think I had good insurance because I never received an appointment confirmation email. Actually, I was given a psuedo appointment then a request for my insurance info, which is one of the largest insurance companies. Maybe they don't realize some folks have other payment options along with insurance: flexible spending. Care Credit, etc. Poor customer service! I made an appointment on Friday for Tuesday as a new patient. I received a confirmation email. Then on Monday I was told my appointment was cancelled and that they did not have any other appointments for Tuesday and limited availability for the rest of the week. Very poor customer service. I can understand if you need to re-schedule an appointment but then the office should make a point of going out of their way to find an available appointment. They must not have a need for new patients. read more

The doctor was nice but they had no interest in treating my problem. All they wanted to do was sell me laser treatments for my toenails that cost $3000. Now, I still have the same problem that caused me to go to the podiatrist and it's still untreated. I hope my insurance will cover a second visit to someone else. read more

I made an appointment based off all of the google reviews. I went in and they said i had toenail fungus based off the way it looks. Didn't test it but tried to sell me laser treatments, a shoe sanitizer and a topical ointment. Didn't really recommend medicine that my insurance covered. I agreed to the laser treatment after the doc convinced me it would almost certainly take care of my problem. They also tried to sell me shoe inserts for me and my son. After i left i got a second opinion. No fungus. Laser won't work. Fortunately they refunded my money which is why i gave them 2 stars and the staff is nice. read more

I do not recommend this practice. An initial red flag should have been how much the staff marveled at how good my insurance was during my first visit. Dr. Smith halfway examined me and then started pushing for me to get an EPAT treatment. The goal was to do at least three treatments. Once I found out insurance doesn't cover it (I had to ask - second red flag), I should have declined. When I was still in pain after two EPAT treatments ($150 each out of pocket), custom made insoles, a short boot, stretching splint, and four visits ($30 copay each), Dr. Smith finally sent me to get an MRI. The MRI showed that my achilles tendon was partially torn. I didn't even bother going back to Dr. Smith after getting my results and instead chose a new doctor. My new doctor took the time to review my results AND examine me thoroughly plus spent significant time explaining everything to me and answering my questions. He gave me a different type of boot, a taller one, because the shorter one Dr. Smith gave to me was the wrong type for my injury, which explains why I experience more pain while wearing it. Within two weeks of wearing the taller boot I was already experiencing less pain and will soon move on to physical therapy after six weeks in the taller boot. I regret wasting so much money with the Laurel Foot and Ankle Center. I suggest going elsewhere. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Klein for over a year for issues related to my left ankle. He has always been very patient and explained everything in ways that I can understand. He's the best!!! I had my first appt there today with Dr. Smith. It took over an hour and not because I was waiting but because of the thorough examine, x-Rays, foot scan for custom orthotics and cortisone shot and temporary modifications to the sneakers I was wearing. A few years ago I asked my general Dr. about the pain in my toe and they told me to take advil for a week and get over it. I'm so happy to have found a specialist who explained every detail of what was causing my pain and everything we were going to do to fix it. Dr. Smith seems very knowledgable and enthusiastic about his work. For the other reviewers who said this Dr is only trying to sell you stuff, I want to ask what did you think was going to happen? Every Dr you go to charges for their services and remedies. If you didn't need the custom orthotics, then did your problem go away another way? Sorry but I go to Dr's with a problem and expect to pay for a solution and hope that it works out. And I must say, it always works out. I have been going on and off to Laurel foot and ankle for a couple of inherited foot issues - I had surgery with my AWESOME Dr.Michael Klein and over all the staff is phenomenal.
