Both my kids went to TWY Preschool on Sterlin Ct. We are really sad that we won't be going there anymore because they have now graduated but it has been one of the best experiences for their childhood. My kids started at The Wonder Years North Mountain View campus a couple of months ago and we have all had great experience with the school so far. First, the registration process is super organized and smooth. Ms. Lorena and Ms. Chenjin are very responsive and patient with all the questions I had at that time. And it turns out that they continue to be very warm, responsive, and helpful after our kids join the school. Second, the teachers in the toddler program and the four years old program are consistently very nice, caring and professional. Before the Wonder Years, our kids attended another good preschool in our previous neighborhood. My older one was lucky to have nice and responsible teachers through her two years program to four years program in the previous school. However, it wasn't the case for my younger one since he started the two years program in that school. He cried almost everyday and didn't want to go to school for the two and half months when he was there. It reversed the potty training progress he had made and reduced his nap time. The situation dramatically changed after he started at The Wonder Years. Ms. Araceli and Ms. Krystal did an excellent job to help him settle in and adjust to the new environment. From day one, there have been very few potty accidents and he started napping a long time again. Every morning he's very happy that he will be going to school and sometimes he even asks to go to school on weekends. For my older one, she has a lot of friends in her previous school and could get emotional because of the transfer. Ms. Stacey and Ms. Angie from the four years program are very kind, caring and fun, which helped her a lot with the transition. My daughter likes the braid Ms. Stacey makes for her almost every day. She was very happy that Ms. Stacey read her favorite book in the class and commented on how funny the book was. She definitely has a great time in her class. Third, we appreciate that the communication among teachers, the administrative office, and us is very transparent and smooth. Our kids' teachers chat with us about the daily status of the students. Whenever we have any questions or requests, Ms. Lorena and Ms. Chenjin always respond quickly with detailed answers and get our requests addressed. Besides all of the above, we also like the curriculum structure, various activities & events, and the clean and organized classrooms in the school facility. Both my kids graduated from the wonder years preschool in north MTV. This definitely the preschool I will recommend. It does not matter if your kid can talk or not, you can tell if he/she likes the school or not from the behavior. Before TWY, my kid had bad experience with another preschool, he does not want to go to school in the morning. In TWY, they love to go to school and excited to meet her friends and teachers. The kids and their families is the top priority to the wonder years. They tried everything to makes the kid happy and the parent 100% trust the preschool. The COVID-19 gives everyone a hard time, but I'm glad my kids are with wonder years. Our daughter went to the Wonder Years on Stierlin for 3 years, and always had a great time, both excited to go to school and happy when she left. Only 5 days or less during those 3 years did she try to get out of going, which is about 1%. And I'm pretty sure she just wanted to be lazy and stay home, not that she didn't like going :) Ms Lorena and Chen Jin, who are the Administrators, are very warm to both the kids and parents, and I mean 100% of the time, and I've interacted with them hundreds of times. The teachers are also very nice and caring, and build close relationships with the kids. Our daughter would be going there again for her Pre-K year if we hadn't moved to a new school district where she happens to be able to attend school at no fee and close to where we live. There's a lot of discussion in some comments about the school being strict but from speaking with many other parents of kids in her classes (we got to know many of them during Covid) I can honestly say neither I, my wife, or any of the other parents I know ever used the word "strict" to describe the Wonder Years. I am kind of dumbfounded to see that word mentioned in the other reviews, as it was not our experience at all. A friend highly recommended Wonder Years 6 years ago and both of my kids have graduated from the North Mountain View campus. We are so happy and grateful for the care they have received for the past 6 years. From the start, Ms. Lorena and Ms. Chen Jin were reassuring and made sure my kids adapted to their new environment. You can tell that they genuinely enjoying working with kids. Their words are always kind, positive and empathetic. Being able to trust our kids are in good hands are important to us. All the teachers we have encountered are warm, responsive, kind and artistic. We especially love Ms. Karla who inspired our kids to love art and cooking. The school has a great balance of academics, playing, art, and music. After seeing my kids flourish at the Wonder Years, I would recommend without reservations it to any parent looking for a nurturing place for their preschool age kids to learn. read more

I deliberated on if I should spend the time to comment and really if I can redirect just one family and save you time and money  - it is worth it. I removed two children from this preschool after one month. In print and online the school checks all the "right" boxes. What your child experiences daily is quite different IMO.  I really wanted to like The Wonder Years and after three weeks it was clear, the strict routine and insensitive staff was not the right fit for us. In the Pre K class the morning expectation is that kids sit in silence and complete worksheets the moment they step into the classroom. I brought this up to the administration (Lorena and Chen) as being too regimented and strict for a 4 year old, their response was that the other option is to sit and read. So I persuaded my child to read one morning, it escalated into a conflict (in front of the class) with Ms. K over if reading is acceptable. I really don't know how a person in education could discourage reading. During the morning drop-off, I witnessed two teachers shaming children for being disobedient and yelling at other students to stop crying. This was unsettling. My children gave me every indication they did not enjoy learning, playing or anything todo with The Wonder Years. I ignored my reservations at first but as a concerned parent I could not let it rest. I consulted other parents and child development specialists. The advice that stood out the most to me was that a child in preschool needs to feel emotionally safe and where parents feel a child's psychological, social and emotional needs are met. I had little confidence left in TWY and I disenrolled my kids immediately. Somewhere in the overrated enrichment classes, language classes, worksheets, copy good (a sticker awarded to my child 3x a week for sitting silently). The nurturing and respect for each child at The Wonder Years is lost along with embracing our kids as individuals. A few more points: - A strict potty time is enforced, expect children to be lined up against the wall like cattle waiting for their turn and for every classmate to finish ahead of them. Accompanied with a lot of yelling to stand, sit and stop talking. - When there is an outbreak and you get an exposure email midday in regards to foot mouth disease, lice, pink eye etc. don't expect to find out anything more like if this incident started in your child's classroom. The Wonder Years have their risk mitigation covered as a business. - My observation during enrichment programs is that core teachers sit off to the side scrolling their phones and disinterested. - The classroom lacked variety in activities and seemed to keep toys to a minimum IMO the class setup did not encourage exploration and imagination. - The Mandarin enrichment class was excellent and the teacher connected well with the students, but we wanted to completely separate from TWY. - My experience is pre pandemic and specific to the North Mountain View location on Stierlin. I cannot comment on what has changed since covid or other TWY locations. - Parents were only allowed to tour one school (pre pandemic) and I toured South Mountain View on El Camino. I was told North and South are identical. This is not true. The South has a true gymnasium with equipment and the North location has a multipurpose recreation room that is mainly a classroom with foam mats along one side of the wall. - It was the right decision for my children and family to return to a true play based preschool - where they have thrived, hopefully this post is helpful to you in your search. read more

My toddler has been going here for almost a year. It's amazing to see how much he has learned and grown. They have a detailed curriculum for every day with associated activities and art projects. He especially enjoys the extra curricular teachers that come through, such as yoga and hula and Spanish teachers, experiences he otherwise wouldn't have had at another daycare. We are so happy with how well the Wonder Years has taken care of our son. read more

Our daughter attended TWY for two years (toddler and 2s program) but we ultimately pulled her out of the 3s room. There's a slightly long story that's not really worth going into here, but the basics are: PROS: I think the teachers are good. Ratios are legal, and in the toddlers and 2s room, I felt that the teachers had time to get to know the kids and keep communication open with parents. The hours are pretty work-friendly (although some policies are not). The best part, I think, is that the parents do get to know each other, and the kids hang out outside of school. I loved coming to Jackson park after school to chat with the other families! We made a lot of close friends (who we still keep in touch with!) CONS: We felt that the 3s classroom we were assigned was much more structured and regimented than one would expect of a "play based" preschool, and that our concerns weren't addressed. (E.g. children being harshly punished for laughing or talking out of turn.) Communication with teachers and especially the administrators was severely lacking. Their response to a couple of reasonable concerns (not being told that our child's teacher was changed, that the Chinese immersion program we thought we would be enrolled in wasn't available, that our child had reported a teacher grabbing her in a way that hurt her, etc.) resulted in a strong, very negative reaction that ultimately served as the impetus for us to leave the school. We simply no longer felt that we could trust the administration to look after our child after seeing them behave very vindictively toward our family. read more

When my son started going to the Wonder Years, back in May 2010, the new facility on El Camino Real had not yet opened. I was about to start work and needed to make day care arrangements for my son ASAP. I wasn't too sold on the idea of a home- based day care, and so my husband and I visited a few pre-schools with day cares in the region. We visited the Wonder Years towards the end of our search. Once the principal, Ms. Courtney had shown us around the facility, we were completely in sync that the Wonder Years was where we were going to send our son for day care. I will be forever grateful to the Wonder Years for providing the early care that my little one needed. Most importantly, they gave me the peace of mind that I needed at work, as I knew that my son was in caring hands. My son had adjustment issues in the first couple of weeks, and at 18 months, which child wouldn't? I came to pick him up at nap time one day during his first week there and I found him fast asleep in his teacher's arms, secure in the knowledge that she was there for him. The Wonder Years definitely provided the foundation my son needed for pre-school. He had Spanish lessons, simple science and a lot of exposure to stories and music, both in English and Spanish. Another thing I love about the Wonder Years is that they have a Chinese Immersion program for the older children. They also did a lot of date nights for the parents, where they provided day care for the kids while the parents got to catch a dinner/ movie. Oh, and did we avail of that! Like one of the reviews mentioned, it is a very strict school. It has a lot of rules (e.g., bring lovey, diapers, kids talk to each other in the hallway, being punctual in the morning, naps, etc.) If your child is very independent and developmentally advanced, this might be a good school for you. Their pre-K program (4-5 years old) is nice. But most parents probably do not know if your 2-year old is advanced or not. My daughter went to this school from 2 years old to 4 years old, complained about the school, begged me almost every day to pick her up early. I found her crying in the office a couple of times while the owner Helen and the site manager chatting to each other. Helen said my daughter is crying and throwing a tantrum because she does not talk to her. I said my daughter is apparently upset about something, and she is not very good at articulating her feelings yet. Helen said children at this age (4 years) should be able to negotiate with adults and since my daughter is not, she is throwing a tantrum. My daughter is very afraid of Helen. I feel that they don't provide individualized education and care, but instead, they fit all children in the same box. We pulled our daughter out immediately and put her in a more loving and relaxing school. She does not complain about going to school any more. read more

We have been with Wonder Years in the past 3 years first at the Palo Alto branch and then at the Mountain View place. When we first got there we were greeted by the owner and at that moment we knew our kids will be in good hands.. Helen makes sure that the kids will a. be safe b. HAPPY c. HAVE FUN. When we moved to the MV branch the beginning was not easy, my kid had to cope with a new place , new teacher but Helen was there for us for anything we needed and eventually we are very happy and blessed to be part of the family that is Wonder Years. Helen, hires many professionals to come and enrich the kids (my gym, music , dancing and etc). I disagree with the latter reviews, especially regarding money issues or dishonesty, Helen always buys the best equipment for the kids and shes has a personal relationship with them. read more

My daughter began attending Wonderyears at the Palo Alto Site. She absolutely loved it and the teachers were wonderful. She recently transferred to the Mountain View Facility, and what a great facitily it is. Each age group has a main classroom and throughout the day, children get to rotate between different learning rooms. The rooms are spacious and bright. And as an added bonus, they have a huge gymnasium type room. As a former preschool teacher, I cannot express enough what a smart idea rotating rooms is. The school also provides extra-curricular activities like Spanish, Chinese, Dance, and Music as a part of their tuition. Their everyday curriculm is a great mix of academics and play-based learning. My daughter comes home happy, singing songs, reciting the activities she did that day, and I feel secure knowing she is in great care. Kudos to the owners for their vision of creating a great early childhood center and gathering a great team of teachers and directors which in return, makes the kids happy. read more

I would give this place 10 stars if it was an option! We had 3 kids go through the TWY program at this MV location - starting in 2010 - the toddler program through Pre-K. It was the ultimate preschool experience for both the kids and us parents. A clean and welcoming environment, with amazing teachers/office staff and diverse enrichment programs. TWY is the place to be if you a structured environment with programs to enhance the childhood play experience AND you want your child well prepared for elementary school. The management team and several teachers have been in place since we started (@Lorena and @Chen Jin, AMAZING!), which also speaks volumes. read more

After reading the other reviews, I decided I needed to share my experience with this preschool. My son attended the Wonder Years Preschool on Stierlin for 3 months near the end of 2010 when he was almost 3 years old. I really wanted this school to work. I loved the location because it was so close to us, and the facility was brand new. However, I soon came to realize, this was not the right school for my son. One day, when I picked up my son, his class was in the bathroom getting their diapers changed. (As mentioned in other reviews, they change diapers every 45 minutes even if a child doesn't need to be changed. I'm sure most of his diapers were dry which is extremely wasteful.) From the hallway outside the bathroom, I heard my son start crying. BOTH teachers kept saying, "WHY are you crying? There's NO crying." As I stood outside the bathroom door, listening to them say this over and over again while he's sobbing uncontrollably, my neck and face felt hotter and hotter. I finally went in there, and they stopped suddenly when they saw me. After I took him outside and he calmed down, he told me that they put on the wrong diaper. He wears Pampers, and they put on a Huggies. Why they put another child's Huggies on him, when his cubby only contains Pampers, I will never know. One day after I had already given my 30 day notice, my son and I were hanging around outside the front of the school. I noticed that a couple of kids were knocking on the glass door that leads from the side playground to the front entryway. The teacher told them to stop knocking on the door. Apparently, they kept doing it, and suddenly I see Courtney, the director, storm out of her office, throw open the door and yell (literally scream), "STOP HITTING THE DOOR! I DON"T LIKE THAT! DON'T DO THAT!" She then slams the door closed, and walks back into her office. I remember thinking to myself that everything comes from the top. If this is the way the director "communicates" with the kids, what prevents the teachers from doing the same? I won't go into detail about how they did a bait and switch with teachers. Instead of getting the teacher with a couple of years experience that I was told he would get, he got a teacher that didn't have any teaching experience and was originally hired to be the dance instructor. I won't go into detail about how the children spend way too much time standing in line when switching between rooms, about how the teachers never say "hi" and rarely smile, about how I was never told what activities my son did, how much he slept, or what he did outside. Last, but not least, I won't go into detail about how the teachers posted on the bulletin board what they wanted for Christmas gifts. read more

Both my kids attended Wonder Years at the Sterling location, it was a SAD experience. The teachers in my son's class were impatience and rough to my son. Instead of helping my son, school complained it was my son's problem. The school is like a factory pack with kids, if any 1 or 2 kids can not follow teacher order, the factory will not work. As a result, school will make it as your kids have problem and outcast your kids. My experience was sad and horrible. We have to pull out our kids after 6months. read more

This school is a new site under the same management as the Wonder Years in Palo Alto. They offer a very rich curriculum including gym, music, Spanish, Mandarin etc. I have looked at both the Palo Alto site and the Mountain View site. The rooms are bright and clean. Bathrooms are kids friendly. I heard the kids learn phonics and math pretty well too. One thing that is quite unique is that the kids will rotate among 3-4 rooms for the different activities (block room, art room, science room, etc). They do an activity in a room for around 30 min, then switch to another theme room. So the each room is essentially shared by 3-4 classes, each maybe 20+ kids. I think this is a good school for people who like medium/large school with many activities. (But I personally feel that I prefer a somewhat smaller school.) read more

Mostly in the Palo Alto location but as well as Mountain View for my son's last year at the school. Doesn't matter which location you choose to attend, you can be sure you will be happy with the warm and friendly atmosphere of each campus. Helen, the owner, personally makes rounds at each school daily to ensure it is run to her high standards. My third child is almost a year old. My child was here for almost three years. We all loved the school - until one day this year, my kid told me about one teacher in the school has done something very improper to my child (I don't want to disclose more), at least a few times. I talked with Helen the Executive Director of the wonder years chains. Her first response is, oh my gosh, you are going to ruin that teacher's career! Ok that is important. But to me as a parent, my child's mental/physical health is more important. She indicated that my child was lying and the teacher was innocent, without any investigation. Then she warned me that if this is reported to the State, my child will have to be interviewed by different people and it could cause even worse impact to my child. I asked her to replace that teacher in my child's class, but she refused. Eventually I pulled my child from the school. That teacher is still teaching there as far as I know. It bothers me on the thought that there could be more kids having the same experience. Sorry Wonder Years. It brought us a lot of good memories but now we don't want to even mention it. read more

I have had my daughter here for two years, since she was 18 months old. I couldn't be happier! She is 3 now and when I pick her up from school she never wants to leave. On the way home she tells me stories, sings songs and mentions all the friends she plays with. The environment is amazing, the teachers and children are always smiling. I feel 100% confident that my child is safe and happy at school. I love the different themes they learn about and the classroom rotations, it keeps my daughter interested and she learns so much; lately she has been reciting the story of the" 3 little pigs" :) there is nothing more reassuring to a working mother when a child doesn't want to go home at the end of the day! read more

Our 2 yr old was enrolled in The Wonder Years and we loved the teachers! This is a response on the feedback given by C.W for Wonder Years. Courtney is an absolute sweetheart!! So patient. She is a MOM of 2 kids. If anything, she is more patient and loving. I remember distinctly, one day when I went to drop my son at school. Courtney was expecting and had a foot injury. I could see she was in pain. But all I witnessed was her smiling and interacting with children. She has always said Hello and spoken to my child very nicely. Also, I am one of those moms who would constantly call when my son first started TWY. Courtney was always patient, immediately called back and responded for any issue we would have. TEACHERS - The teachers are lovely! - Ms Marielli, Ms Candie, Ms Stephanie.. My son was a little shy and very scared of new surroundings. The teachers are so nurturing and loving that my son grew so confident and happy! C.W mentioned abt the teachers screaming.. Yes, there is a possibility that the teachers might have said " why are you crying? " DUH, wouldn't any responsible teacher ask a child when they are upset to learn the reason, so they can calm down. As far as the shouting it does not seem true to me. We were out of the country for some time, so decided to pull him out of school. Currently we are on the waiting list and have been exploring so many preschools but nothing has touched the quality of The Wonder Years! read more

I moved from Chicago to California last year and one of my main concerns was finding the right place to leave my daughter during work hours. After searching obsessively I found The Wonder Years and I couldn't be happier. And believe me with matters that relate to my little one I am not easy to please. We were relatively new parents when we started looking at preschools in the area for our son. We really didn't know where to start and didn't have much time. We visited a few and talked to other parents to help us understand what was important to us. Then we simply ranked them by overall fit, cost, and differentiation. We concluded that for the schools in the area that fit our needs: i) there wasn't much difference in pricing, ii) there wasn't any strong differentiation between schools, and iii) most were pretty good overall. We ended up choosing Wonder Years because they were closer to our home, and we felt that they had a slight advantage over most or all of the points of differentiation that were important to us. We were immediately happy with our choice and after after more than 2 years, we are more than happy with our experience and the results. Our 2-year-old daughter just started this year and we are having the same great experience with her. If I had to summarize our experience with Wonder Years in a single sentence it would be this: They just seem to do everything well across the board that they are able to create a really great environment for child care and development. Otherwise, here is a summary of what we feel the pros and cons are: Pros: 1) The building is great! It's relatively new and was built for its purpose. We feel it's a safe building (e.g.: built to more recent safety and earthquake codes, newer materials, etc.), its layout makes it easy for the staff to safely manage the children, and entry is monitored/controlled. They even have toddler-sized flush toilets in the toddler bathroom. 2) The facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained. The classrooms are modern and well-equipped. I frequently see the teachers cleaning table tops and door knobs. Everything is organized and put away when not in use. 3) The teachers and staff are great! They are experienced, passionate, engaged, are highly interactive with the children and parents, give great feedback to the parents, work with parents to help children work through issues, are very knowledgeable (and consistent) about child development, and clearly like children. We get a strong sense of coherence and consistency from the teachers and staff; their teamwork really shows through. We also observe that they are very alert for child safety. 4) The curriculum is great! They seem to be a mix of play and academic approaches. But the curriculum covers academic, social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and mental development. They also encourage exploring, experimenting, and being creative. The approach seems well rounded and well thought-out - both of which are important to us - and we are very pleased with the results. 5) They offer optional enrichment programs to expose kids to languages, music, computers, and dancing. 6) They aren't perfect and can make mistakes. But we have observed that they acknowledge mistakes and work to fix them. 7) Full year with full or part time options - great for both parents working. 8) The kids (and parents) are great! The kids are well behaved, diverse, are from all over the world, and my son has lots of friends at school. 9) Our kids love it! Cons (not much): 1) Several shut downs during the year - a week in the summer, two weeks at the end of the year. Difficult when both parents are working. Some other preschools have similar shut-downs, some don't. 2) Very long waiting list for new prospects - there seems to have been a mini-baby boom in Mountain View these last few years. I know several parents that are frustrated with the situation. I'll add that there are several new preschools that have opened up in the area in response to the increase in demand. read more

My 3-years old son was in the Mountain View site for more than 9 months. We do not recommend this school if you are looking for an open and healthy place for the personality growth of your kids. Their ridiculous rigid rule may kill your kid's curiosity and innovative potential. At the first place, we were impressed by the facility. The room is spacious and bright. Gradually, we found that their culture in this school was to tame any kid to be the identical formality. They don't tolerant any individuality. Even, they do not really care your kids. What the most they care is how to efficiently control your kids so that they can use the less number of personnel. The staff-to-child ratio is pretty high. For example, in my son's class, the ratio is 1:12 which is the limit required by the California law. You may feel that the director, Courtney was nice to you and your parents. But actually, I observed several times that she yelled at kids in the classroom even though the school have the rule that no staff should yell at kids. Also I noticed that Courtney is lack of professional knowledge about how to efficiently communicate with kids. In one of conversations between Courtney and us, we disagreed with the way to communicate with my son. Courtney insisted that the negative way is the right way to communicate with my son since she believed that it was the time for my son to learn to accept 'no'. How ridiculous is it? My son was 3-years old then. No kids at this age like the negative way you talk to them. Any early childhood education book would suggest you to use a positive way to communicate with your kids. It will be much more efficient and easier to have you kids accept your orders/requests. Another thing I noticed that the turn over rate of their staff is very high. They changed the teacher of my son's class three times in the 9 months. Overall, we had very unpleasant experience with them. We have received wonderful care for our daughter at the Wonder Years Preschool in Mountain View. She has learned so much, loves her teachers, and enjoys interacting with her classmates. She insists on giving each one of the teachers hugs each day she leaves. We had a horrible experience with a family childcare provider at Moffett Field and were so thrilled to have her attend this program. I would highly recommend the Wonder Years Program. My son came to The Wonder Years after I did... 25 visit tours of preschool around Mountain View! I wanted something clean, well-structured for him and I found it! It was our first time to be separated and I really appreciated how the teacher helped me... helped us the first month. We moved to the US in the middle of the year. We were lucky to have our daughter join The Wonder Years. She had no English and the transition was very difficult for her. With great support form the entire amazing staff of The Wonder Years, she quickly learned English and gained good friends. The staff new how to provide her the love and support that she needed so much and helped her feel comfortable in the new country. By the end of the year, our was already daughter speaks English almost as a native (plus few words in Mandarin and in Spanish) and was ready for Kindergarten. read more

My daughter graduated from The Wonder Years preschool. I was 100% satisfied with the services. I have nothing but wonderful things to say their program. My daughter graduated a couple years ago and was well prepared for entering Kindengarten. She continues to do well academically and I think this is at least partially due to the good preparation she had in preschool. I also liked the enrichment program at the school. They brought in special experts to teach the kids music, dance, gymnastics, and languages. My daughter learned to speak both Spanish and Mandarin. There wasn't any additional charge for these things. Also, the teachers at school were friendly and always took time to tell me how my daughter was doing. My memories of this school are very good. read more

I have two kids attending the wonder years at the Palo Alto site. I have nothing than great things to say about the school, the stuff, the amazing manager that makes the school to what it is today, the amazing enrichment program that they offer and the wonderful genuine care for the children. Management not only seems but "is" interested in the children, knows each one of the kids and very much alert and aware to everything that is going on in each school. My kids love the school so much, that sometimes it takes me an hour to get them out of school at the end of the day. They have a full day program with lots of fun and educational activities. My son is in the Pre-k program and he is fully ready for kindergarten without feeling the pressure of learning, the teaching method that the school is using opens the kids to a wonderful world of knowledge and gives them the passion to learn more. One of the important things that I'm looking for my kids is love and caring environment and after attending a different school before attending the wonder years I can say without a doubt that the wonder years stuff is THE BEST that I can expect for my kids, leading by an amazing manager who really think about the kids first. read more

I have had two children attend Wonder Years Preschools. I was first at San Carlos and with my second child I was in Palo Alto. Both schools are very well rounded and the staff is loving and caring. What made us choose Wonder Years preschools was the great balance they have between playing and academics. One of the things we liked most was the fact that they offered languages (Spanish and Mandarin), music and movement at no extra charge to parents. Also, the teachers have very low turn over which speaks loudly of their work environment. In addition, their prices are so competitive for what they offer, we always wondered how come they were so affordable. The one thing I wish is that they would offer kinder garden and first grade or even elementary education. Great school, we highly recommend it! read more

My daughter started the wonder years at 18 mos and continued there for two school years. Unfortunately, we moved and had to pull our daughter out of the school. The foundation that was created for my daughter was exceptional! I don't think I really understood how great this school was until I had to relocate and find a new one. My daughter has been to a few other schools and I just haven't been able to find one that satisfies me as much as with what I had at Wonder Years. In the toddler room the teachers were warm and loving. In the 2s class the amount of knowledge my child came home with was amazing. We haven't been at Wonder Years for a year now, and my daughter still talks about her teacher Ms. Tania. They learn the alphabet and sing songs, they do fun cooking projects and they have an amazing gym to play in where they also do music, dance, and gym classes. The program provides a great environment that has a balance of academics and play. Because the children rotate through four different classrooms in the morning they are enjoying many different environments so they don't get bored. My daughter has a lot of energy and I think this is a good fit for her getting to move around. The director Courtney was always warm and greeted me and my child. It actually amazed me how she knew every parents name and each child that came thru the door. I was sad to see her transfer to the new campus, I felt she did a fantastic job running such a busy and big school. read more

I have had my child for a while at this school. I decided to write a review and was shocked to see the negative reviews about this school. I know a few of the teachers and think nothing but highly of them by the way they treat my child and others. Why would someone be concerned about the treatment of their child due to not paying for re-registration. That sounds a bit crazy dont you think. Sounds like a disgruntled parent to me. Perhaps if that parent is not happy, they should just leave. There is plenty of other preschools that might be happy to cater to all their needs. I only feel sorry for the school whom will accept them. read more

My Daughter has been attending The Wonder Years for a year and a half. She loves it so much. The teachers here are amazing and great at providing the school experience. I feel that she is well prepared for kindergarden because of her experience here. The staff is great at working with you if you have any questions They are avalible when you need them. I could go on and on about all they things I love about this school. So I will narrow it down to a few. This is a locked facility they don't let you in unless they know who you are. I also love that you can observe the classroom whenever you want through a monitor in the front office. It is nice because you are not disrupting the class and you are able to see how you child is doing without you around. I spent many months researching and visiting preschools around the area and wanted one that was well rounded. After visiting The Wonder Years I was sure they would provide a structured and fun experience for my daughter. I am so glad that I chose them and am so excited that my son for next year. read more

A new preschool at mountain view. Very strategically located for parents to drop their child. An excellent facility with all toys and structures that attract kids. Well built classrooms . We had our son attend for a few months. While it has great facilities and good toys, it is a sterile, robotic, assembly-line environment. Too many rules for the kids - dont do this, dont do that - and it just sucks out their natural enthusiasm. There is little creativity in the classroom, and the kids spend a disproportionate amount of time, standing in line at frequent intervals, forced to go to the bathroom, even when they dont need to. The rules work for the smooth operations of the school, but not for the children. No trips to the park, no trips anywhere. No daily reports on how your child is doing (they have one general update for the whole class, posted on the door). Every time I asked his main class teacher how he was doing, I got nothing more than "he is doing well". Oh ok, that is so useful. Compare to his current preschool: The kids raised silk worms from egg to adult - learning about life stages, body parts, the use of silk, videos on making silk etc, then they did the same with earthworms. The teachers also speak to the kids in multiple languages thru out the day - the best way to learn, not from 20-30 minute sessions every other day. I get a daily written report on what he did that day - and you can see from the insights, that the teacher genuinely cares. read more

My son attended this school for over a year before we had to withdraw due to our move to a different city. I am still incredibly sad to have left. Each teacher who cared for my son was very patient, energetic, and caring, especially ms. Silvia, who was one of his main teachers and would often take an extra few minutes even at the very end of the day to tell us details about how our son was doing. The principals, Lorena and Chen Jin, are also both very warm and kind. I could tell that my son learned a ton, coming home with new songs, shapes he recognized, and letters and words that he learned. When he started at the school, he had problems hitting other kids, but the teachers patiently worked with us and gave advice about books we could read to him and other things we could do to reinforce the message that that was not acceptable. Soon enough, he stopped doing it. the school also plans so many fun activities for the kids, from Santa, to pumpkin patch visits, to a children's week with a different special activity each day. I felt that I was sending him to a very happy and nurturing environment each day. read more
