My co-workers and I stopped by this establishment today for lunch. Walked in to some really nice decor! Very clean also! Lunch time menu doesn't have a lot of options but the choice were definitely good ones! I went with the chicken tips! When I tell you this was the best bbq I've ever tasted! The chicken was seasoned so good! Some places put all the flavor into the sauce and forget to season the meat but not the Woodlawn! I was truly impressed! Oh yes its ladies nite ,well actually afternoon but you get my point Listen, we had a blast here at The Woodlawn The ladies and l hail from the southside wanted to stay local , and visit a establishment that adhered to Covid restrictions that has nice decor and great food Ding ding ,plus black owned and operated, sign me up boo ! So ,we booked the party pod for one hr, its 75 but its private , you keep 2 apps on limited ordering menu and watch this its BYOB with ice bucket glasses and cooking fee included.. The pod was beautifully decorated with flat-screen TV that we used to play music on Now ,there was a mishap with menu ,I was in contact with Ebony back and forth she sent me the menu and said we could get 2 appetizers any 2 which was not case In the pods its hourly so my plan was know ahead ,what my order was and not waste time but Brittany came to the rescue with the correct info We order the jerk chicken fries, lemon pepper wings and additional mac and cheese and cabbage Everything was on point no complaints its hard to share 2 apps so will have to order more in addition to My fav was the jerk chicken fries the wings are small so be prepared All in all my company was great the spot was dope and we will be back read more

This is my first time here. It is a nice, well built hall. I used to know a friend that lived nearby and went pass this address for years. I'm glad they did something with this space. Very good job. There is ample room, not sure how my friend had the set up today. They spent some $$$ in here. I want to try the restaurant part. Those specials sound delish. I would have given spot 5 stars but that entrance step is a hazard. read more

So......this hurts me to write this post because I really wanted to support this business and it's in my neighborhood. However, right is right and folks I hate to say it but the food was wrong! Tell the truth and shame the devil! ‍ I ordered the catfish dinner with Mac and cheese and cabbage. My friends got the shrimp poor boy and chicken Alfredo. We ate family style and we all came to the same conclusion.....we ate with the substitute cook. The cabbage had so much oregano that I forgot I was even eating cabbage. The Mac was average and the cat fish was wet. They were very stingy with the shrimp but overall the sandwich was average at best. The Alfredo serving was huge but the sauce tasted like "Karen" made it. It definitely needed more seasoning. However I will try you guys one more time because I have faith in your business!! Went to The Woodlawn for their Juneteenth celebration. My friends and I brought the rooftop experience package for 6 individuals, which was close to $100 pp and we were treated unfairly. This was a prepaid event. They had different time slots and ours was 7pm-10pm. We arrived between 7:15-30pm. There was no section available for us, as that was apart of our package. When they attempted to provide us with seating they had to "create" a section and we were given fold up chairs. That was very embarrassing, especially given the other two groups who had sections had nice lawn and party seating/table. They fixed it; they moved another party to accommodate us which caused more friction. The package also included small bites, a bottle of liquor, drinks mixes, open bar, drinking ware and ice. Our drinking ware was styrofoam cups!! STYROFOAM CUPS!! They didn't even inform us that would be the case. The open bar had only two drink selections and there was barely anyone tending to the bar, the small bites weren't received until the end of the night about 9:45pm. We did ask about small bites a few times throughout the night to be told "They're coming". Seems as if the only thing that was right about that night and function was that they ended the event on time at 10pm!! On the DOT! None of my party was happy and have expressed that they do not desire to go back. Very unfortunate, place has potential but currently the service is TERRIBLE! read more

The buffalo chicken flat bread is on point! The space is super clean and the staff are very friendly. There's also an interesting entrance to a performance/meeting area. Overall great addition to the area! I would go again, and again. read more

To start I spent 385.88 for the igloo experience with my girlfriend for our anniversary. When we were seated the first thing we noticed were Happy birthday decor when I in fact did not request that. Looking past that. Our wine was already in the room, a pinot grigio even through I specifically requested pink Moscato, looked past that. Then our food came out 125 DOLLARS per person for a salad with 3 pieces of shrimp, an entree with the smallest portions I ever saw, and to top it off we were given rotten fruit with our desert. Totally ruined my romantic gesture. My girlfriend cried most of the night afterwards and we are telling every listening ear to not spend money at this establishment. We paid for a pod and it's definitely not worth your money. The food was very good but it took 20 minutes to get seated, 40 minutes to get water and then an extra 30 to get our salad. We pre-paid for a 3 course meal and alcoholic beverages. First we were told they didn't have alcohol there and then when we complained again we ended up getting 2 bottles of wine. I still believe it wasn't worth what we paid because the service was so slow and unprepared. They were only taking care of 3 parties the whole time we were there too so they weren't busy. It's unfortunate because it has potential but also needs better management. read more

I love this place! The owner is very welcoming.Their Flatbread are tasty and pretty filling and good for sharing. I'm not a fan a avocado toast but the California toast surprisingly hit the spot. There are weekly classes that I have yet to try but I will make it eventually. The space is pretty open and I'm in love with the art with here.
