My stylist did a great job with my haircut, and I could tell she's efficient and experienced. That said, I did run into an issue with the color service. The dye left visible staining along my hairline, temples/sideburn area, and behind my ears, which I wasn't informed about until after everything was done and I saw it in the mirror. The stylist did try to remove it, but it didn't come off easily, so I left with noticeable staining on my skin. I understand that things can happen, especially with different products, but I do wish there had been more communication in the moment and a more thorough final check/cleanup before I left the salon, especially since the staining was visible in multiple areas. Unfortunately, I'm not very comfortable waiting for it to fade on its own, and I'm also not inclined to return for a future service. Overall, I think this place has a lot going for it, but I hope they can improve the finishing process and post-service support so clients don't leave with unexpected issues. I understand that staining can sometimes happen, but my concern was more around the visibility in multiple areas and that it wasn't fully addressed before I left. The first review spoke about how the stylists discussed how difficult my hair was to blowout while working on me, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and guilty for even coming in in the first place. After that experience, I decided to give them another try and left feeling better about this location. I deleted the review and moved on. Please be aware if you have any texture or thickness in your hair, you will be disappointed. Every time I've come in, I've left notes for the staff to give them a heads up that I have thick and curly hair and to please give whichever stylist a heads up. If, for whatever reason, my hair is too challenging to work on, I'd rather them call me to tell me and cancel my appointment instead of wasting my time. Today, was my final straw at this location. It seems like no matter what, the staff is always struggling to blowout my hair. You'd think between 3 different stylists my hair would turn out looking somewhat decent.... you'd be wrong. I knew as soon as they turned me around in that chair that I'd have to come home a fix my hair, which is exactly what I had to do. The 2 stylists were in a rush to leave to their other commitments, which I totally understand. I don't mind if a stylist has to hand me off to someone else, I really don't care if that happens 5 times during my appointment, I just want my hair to look nice. But, if everyone is in a rush and there's no one to take over for them then the quality of the blowout falls through the cracks. I'm not sure if it's due to them being short staffed, or a scheduling error, or no one wants to deal with my hair, I honestly don't know, but at this point it's just getting ridiculous. Below I'm attaching a picture of what my hair looked like coming home straight from the salon. I had to go back in with a flat iron over everything. For reference, I asked for my hair to be straight. That's it. No curling, not any crazy updo or style, just straight and flat ironed. Why am I paying $70+ for something I have to come home and fix? So if I can pay someone to wash and style for me, that's cool in my book. Just don't go in with high expectations. Haven't left Uncommons parking area yet and 10 minutes later, my curls fell flat! So disappointed. I am currently sitting at Drybar waiting for the stylist to re-curl the hair again. It's a waste of my time to come back here. Marma Head Spa is SO cute inside and I noticed how clean it was right away! The salon stations were spotless and organized and it smelled great! I had Jessica doing my treatment and my husband had someone else who he said was very good. Jessica was AMAZING. I appreciated how she explained a bit of what was going to happen throughout because I really had no idea what was included. 45 mins of deep scalp massage is no joke, and I was surprised at how she managed to maintain that pressure the whole time! I opted for air drying, but as soon as I went outside my hair was basically dry in 10 mins. I loved the addition of hot towels over the eyes and under the neck! First of all this Salon is incredibly irresponsible every single time I've had an appointment they've rescheduled it, cancelled it, or were very late. What Jay does not tell you as he will initially put in your extensions and then he sticks you with a much lesser skilled stylist for all of your touchup needs and he will not deal with you until you have to put an extensions again. When Yvette had to touch up my roots which is the first time I was not happy with, the second time she asked you what color he used and he didn't even know! He didn't even write down the colors that he used on me because clearly he does not care about his clients and told her to just do what she felt like and figuring it out which ended up with her putting bleach on my hair and frying it off and over toning it until it turned a green tint color. While taking out my extensions she literally ripped off my real hair, at the root. I'm missing chunks of hair. I'm devastated. Jay responded to this by saying "well what do you want me to do?". No I'm sorry, no let's try to deep condition and salvage what you have. No refund, no accountability. He said "extensions and bleach don't damage your hair". Ummm there's a reason I said no bleach. Evil, disgusting people. I paid 4 grand to have bald spots. He's running a scam to ruin your hair so that you have to keep coming back for extensions. Save your money and you hair and buy a halo.
