This is the most special place!! After visiting it once I knew it was the place I wanted to have my wedding & that's what we did! This beautiful hotel is not only fun to stay at, but the owner Haley & her staff were so incredibly helpful in planning and executing our wedding. I can't say enough good things about how organized yet go with the flow Haley is. She has everything under control and was so easy to work with. She makes things happen! Her staff was friendly & helpful & went above and beyond to make our guests feel taken care of. They did more than bartend, they helped facilitate so many different moving pieces of the wedding. I am so thankful to this team for making our weekend a dream come true. We rented the hotel for the whole weekend and our guests couldn't stop talking about how the hotel felt "home-y" and welcoming but also so clean & fancy! I can't write a review without mentioning how amazing their cocktail are. They are truly top of the line. Fancy & flavorful at a reasonable price. The rooms are fancy and comfortable. The beds are so cozy. Everything that makes a hotel good - this place has. The Wyman is truly something special. Its location in the perfect mountain town makes it a true destination. I do actually have friends staying at the hotel and they say their room is really nice, but this review isn't about the hotel. It's about E, who sometimes works in the lobby bar. I asked E to make me a Paloma, which is tequila and grapefruit juice and other deliciousness, but I was told that the bar didn't have any grapefruit juice. Booooooo! I guess this means no Greyhound either. But FEAR NOT! Because E is a mixologist supreme and will just ask you what you like in a cocktail and then boozy yumminess will magically appear in front of you. The first example of this was my gin, Campari, and Aperol concoction, which actually tasted like grapefruit juice...go figure! Soon, almost everyone in our party of 7 was asking E to make them special "surprise" drinks with their fave spirits and flavors. Another particular drink that had bourbon and a red wine floater was proclaimed by my friend "the best drink I have ever had in my life." (We were all really impressed by this because, as we quickly informed E, she's had a lot of drinks in her life!) If you're lucky enough to find E working at the lobby bar at the Wyman, let yourself be awed and amazed with a creative cocktail made especially to your liking. You will not be disappointed! Loved this historical hotel! The Wyman has been very thoughtfully remodeled. We stayed in room 15 which is a second floor king. The hotel was built in 1902 and I think this is something to keep in mind with any western hotels. The bathroom was tiny but comfortable and well decorated. The bath products were wonderful. There was a refrigerator and radiant heater that made the room cozy. The check-in/out process is seamless and contactless (if that's important to you) they send a text with a front door code and punch code to the hotel room. That said the hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean and felt comfortable to be in. The Wyman is not a 5-star hotel and Silverton is more like a Western outpost, so if you're here for luxury this isn't your spot... If you want an adventure with a lovely, small and fun hotel then you have arrived. I love Silverton and will definitely stay at this hotel again!!!! Thank you! read more

The last time I was in Silverton in the late 1990s, The Wyman Hotel was a classic western main street head on pillow kind of place, showing every bit of its 1902 roots. A bit creaky, dusty and perhaps, ghostly, with tons of charm in every corner. I was there in the October off season to take respit for a few days and to work on a book. The only guest in the house, I had quiet nights and hung out with staff before they went home after last call. I ate breakfast in the kitchen alongside the chef and his sou. It was great. So, knowing I was coming back to town, I booked the same room thinking it would be more or less the same as 20 years before. I noted prices were considerably higher, but what wasn't in new age Colorado? So, I was very surprised when upon checking in I thought I had misremembered where I stayed last time. All around me was a hotel more suited for Chelsea (lower Manhattan) or even LoDo Denver. It was now modern and my second floor room had no resemblance to the Wild West, but was a beautifully appointed clean bright space that really left the outside world behind. To be honest, it wasn't what I expected, nor wanted, but sometimes it was best to roll with it. Maybe I would learn something. I did. Despite all the differences, it was a great place. Extremely comfortable; offering total escape from the hard scrabble of the surrounding mountain environment. The bed was perfect for sound sleep and everyone associated with Wyland was focused on customer care. There were several guests and we enjoyed conversation morning and night, exchanging recommendations for other places to visit, and good kitchens and bars around town. Silverton is coming of age a second time in the early part of the 21st Century. It is still mostly 1900 western Americana, but with ski resorts nearby it now also has something for folks more into snow conveniences than roughing it as the old miners did. This hotel rocks! We got off hiking on the Colorado Trail and were looking for a good and inexpensive way to spend the night after some hard days in the backcountry. Mikey, the desk manager, got us a 10-bunk room that was more of a hostel than a hotel room...perfect! They were super clean, modern, comfy, and well worth the money! Not for hikers. Stayed at the Wyman while hiking the Colorado trail. The hotel is reasonably comfortable (saggy mattress and thin walls) and interestingly decorated, but don't think paying top dollar for Silverton will get you anything more than rude service. When we requested to do a load of laundry the owner sent us on a walk to a laundry room in an trailer park in the pouring rain. The following day the owner watched and laughed as we carried two boxes across town to mail them home. Wifi is spotty and hot water limited. Save your money and stay somewhere where the staff is accommodating and friendly as you won't find that here. read more

I booked a 5 night stay with The Wyman Hotel on Feb.22,2020..The arrival date was to be September 3,2020...Our friends and family all wanted to meet in Silverton,CO for a get together. My credit card was charged $1,405 for the 5 night stay.. As the global pandemic COVID-19 impacted all our lives, our trip had to be cancelled. I called The Wyman at the beginning of June and was told that there would be a 50% cancellation charge even though I was canceling close to three months before the date of arrival. As I booked the hotel on the phone, there was no mention of a 50% cancellation charge 24 hours after it's booked ..nor was there anything mentioned on their emailed invoice.. Seeing as almost all hotels,resorts, airlines and cruise lines ,etc. have been giving full refunds as a result of the world pandemic, I find it hard to believe that the owners/manager have been this uncompromising.. After speaking with their manager, apparently now they'll make sure people are aware of THE WYMAN cancellation policy.. Rest assured, if I ever come to Silverton,CO, I will NOT be staying at The Wyman Hotel.. Bill Clune read more

We are SO glad we came and had dinner here. We had an arugula salad, and the most delicious corn-on-the-cob. Our drinks were delicious, and we were then treated to an amazing bags of homemade potato chips. The Hotel is under renovation (the owner is doing the remodel himself and is also the chef), so we had to sit outside on the patio. We loved the ambiance, and enjoyed our evening under the patio lights. Come eat here. read more

Where to begin? This place was definitely my favorite place to stay at during my travels through Colorado. Incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly staff. The owner of the place set us up in a lovely room at the last minute (due to the nearby road being closed for the evening, my boyfriend and I weren't able to make it to our original destination, and I'm kind of glad that we didn't!). They have a large selection of DVDs and VHS tapes you can borrow and watch in your room. They have complimentary breakfast as well as tea and coffee throughout the day. The owner also recommended a good place for us to eat at and was kind enough to warn us about a loose bear in town :) I should also mention that this establishment was beautiful! The decor was lovely! I felt as though I was in an old western movie. The furnishings were antique-like (actually, I'm sure they were!). Our room was exceptionally clean, stocked with several towels, a TV and lamps. I was surprised they provided us with complimentary bottled water. Most hotels charge you an arm and a leg for 'em! 1902 building that I'm sure has seen its number of characters. The hotel is on the east end of main street, and is a two story brick building. Stayed there March 30 and 31, 2012 while skiing at Silverton Mountain. First class hotel all the way around. A lot of love is put into this hotel by the owners. Roger Wrublik is the owner and he was behind the desk every day. He is an ultra marathoner who has run the Hardrock 100 6 times. He has also founded the Silverton 1000, a 1000 mile run based in Silverton. Super friendly guy who will do anything to make your stay great. They have a large selection of DVD's you can borrow for free -- how many hotels do that? Also the breakfast seemed gourmet to me, it was also great. Each room in the Wyman has a name and theme which is kind of cool. Also they have a real train caboose that has been outfitted into a hotel room, I stayed in it once a few years ago, it's really cool. So I loved this place and if you're any kind of outdoor athlete you'll want to meet Roger, he'll have you eating cayenne pepper supplements and running ultra marathons in no time. read more

The beer garden outside to the left: Pretty good food. Took a long time to get. We ordered a cheese board. It had three types of cheeses and 4 small pieces of toast. Not proportional at all. We were eating plain cheese half way through. Not worth $15.00. We came in a few times. The first time we brought our dog and it was fine and there were four other dogs on the outside patio. Employees didn't say anything nor was anything posted. Then we came back on our own and they told us no dogs. There were no signs at all. The worst is, we walked in with the dog and ordered - then they told us no dogs. They tricked us into buying food. read more

Charming old hotel, in a town time forgot! It was easy to overlook the dated decor, as our large 3-room suite was modestly priced. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and with the other guests, it felt we were all part of a western adventure. We all partook of the complimentary wine in the evening, the dinner recommendations (the Handlebar), and the weak coffee in the morning. My review is actually for Southern Pacific--the patio grill/ bar attached to the Wymann Hotel. I had the breakfast biscuit (sans arugula) and it was absolutely incredible! The perfect balance of heft and health, with a biscuit that somehow managed to both crumble and melt in my mouth without falling apart in my hands. Friendly staff, service can be a bit slower on busy days but the wait is more than worth it! read more

My wife and I stayed 7 nights during the first week of Aug 2012. The Wyman is a lovely hotel, beautifully restored, clean and well maintained. We truly enjoyed getting to know the owners, Rodger and Tana Wrubilk - they take a personal interest in their guests and strive to provide the best service possible. Their breakfasts are not your run of the mill hotel breakfasts - Rodger and Tana put on a full 'french cuisine' breakfast in a beautifully appointed side-room. They also have a wine & hors d'ouvers / tea & snacks reception each afternoon in the lobby at 5pm. It's a great time to socialize with the other guests, get to know people and generally relax. Rodger and Tana also have all the menus from the town's restaraunts and can give you advice depending on what you want to eat. We will definitely return to the Wyman, it was a memorable and wonderful experience for us! read more

We explored the options for finding the best hotel possible in Silverado, CO, and selected the Wyman Hotel based on prior reviews. We were pleasantly surprised and happy with the result because the accommodations were as good as one can find in Silverado. The staff was very kind and thoughtful. The historic building was well maintained as were the rooms. We traveled there on the Durango & Silverado RR and thought it would be special to spend the night.
