It's also walking distance to many bars, restaurants, the main cathedrals, the ferry peir, and the bus/train station. Staff: very friendly and always with a smile. Says a lot considering they probably have to answer the same exact types of questions to each traveler. They man the front desk 24/7 and will buzz you in whenever you choose to return home. They also clean the common areas daily and it shows. Interior: the hostel is all on the 3rd floor (no elevator) on both sides of a main staircase. There are a variety of rooms from doubles to dorms (6 beds). There are also shared bathrooms/showers on either end of the hall. A bit of a rush in the morning, but otherwise not so bad. Misc: a significant amount of hot water heaters (to bond over coffee or tea); a 'free food' section from travelers who couldn't take the food with them; a very large common area/kitchen; a large variety of maps/tips/schedules; and they will print for 1 euro. Two…read morenights at the Scandic Park came as part of a Baltic Sea cruise/hotel package I reserved for me and Jamie W., so when I looked for it on a Helsinki city map, I let out an audible sigh presuming it would be a bit too far from the city center. However, once we arrived, the hotel turned out to located conveniently on Mannerheimintie, a major boulevard where Helsinki's public tram system operates one of their main lines efficiently late into the night. It turned out to be just three stops away from the central train station hub where all the shopping and restaurants were concentrated. Looking recently renovated, the hotel itself was quite comfortable and looked like it was mostly targeted to business travelers since a lot of suits of both genders dominated the lobby and adjoining restaurant. That's where Jamie and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet which was quite a huge spread of food from which we grazed liberally (photo: http://bit.ly/1UWLZz3). With a rather gray view of the neighboring hotels and apartment buildings, our room was spacious, a "superior" room with a king bed and a purple Cleopatra sofa for lounging. I appreciated the hospitality throughout the stay from messages before check-in and ease of check-in to having my luggage held as I explored the city a bit more between check out and my flight. Booking and check in were easy, and my room was fantastic. The space was just what I needed as a solo traveler with a quiet room, nice views, sense of safety, clean space, plenty of high quality amenities and products (toiletries, coffee/tea and an in-room machine, etc), thoughtful storage built in, and a comfortable bed. It was VERY convenient to everything I wanted to access, whether walking distance to sites and shopping on my list or very easily walkable distance to public transit for further attractions and the airport. I did not add the breakfast option as I wanted to explore different local places each day, but it did look lovely and the space where breakfast was held was inviting. Having the rooftop bar to watch the sunset was a fantastic bonus! I can't say enough how much I appreciated my stay at Klaus K and would highly recommend for any future travelers. The room was quiet and the heating in the room worked well. Something you need to have when traveling in the Nordics during winter and autumn :-) Staff here were super friendly and welcoming and had our on Christmas drinks for customers at the lobby one evening, a very nice touch. They were engaging and helpful and very easy to talk to. I would definitely come here again. It's a good location and a good hotel with great service.

And the ambiance is really nice too. There are a lot of great areas that are in walking distance around the hotel. Hello everyone So we…read morestayed here the night before we left for our cruise. I must first say thank you to all of the staff when we checked in. When we landed we found out that Finnair had lost our luggage, so had no clothes or toiletries for our 11 day cruise. So it was a pretty rough start of our trip. When we arrived the hotel and told them our story they were immediately understanding and gave us each a toiletry bag to at least get us started. They also provided us with a converter and plug so that we could charge our electronics at least. They were the first people that helped bring our trip around and we are so grateful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We recommend this hotel for its service and for it being so comfortable. Thank you again! Have fun everyone!
