I was scheduled for an eye surgery by this surgeon. I.V…read more was Inserted and a series of eye drops were put into my affected eye. At some point, past surgery start time, the doctor informed me that they've yet to receive approval from the insurance company. After some waiting time, it was apparent I wasn't going to get it done as planned. A day later, I've called my insurance company, and was informed the surgeon's office submitted the request on Saturday, hoping to get approved by Monday morning, which was a national holiday. They had almost a week time, to submit but neglected to do so until the weekend, just before the procedure. Such an incompetence, having a client rearrange their life around, only to find out they didn't do their job early enough, to properly accommodate the scheduled client. I believe, when there's some negligence, it most likely present in all other aspects of the practice. It would be appropriate, letting the patient know during the registration process that you're still waiting on approval, or even better, the night before the scheduled procedure.

She was unavailable, and referred me to Dr. Donna Daufenbach. Dr. Daufenbach was wonderful. She got me in immediately, there was no wait time in the medical center office, and she examined my eyes very thoroughly. What I appreciated the most was she explained everything, each step of the way, what she was checking my eyes for, what she was finding, etc. I left feeling this had been extremely competent and compassionate care, and greatly appreciated everything. A lot of the irritation I had been experiencing she felt was due to seasonal allergies. She was also kind enough to go beyond the eye exam and provide website addresses for checking pollen count, etc. She had very helpful recommendations and filled a prescription so I could get topical relief. This was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend Dr. Daufenbach.

Dr Christensen's office is inside Costco Pewaukee, WI…read more She is not a "typical optometrist", who simply gives eye glass prescriptions! She is the most talented optometrist I have ever consulted with. She can give you advice on your general well being, just by examining your eyes. No one has ever done that with me, until her! She has given me better advice than any ophthalmologist I have consulted in the past! All of my family members and I have been patients of Dr. Nina Christensen for many years. We live closer to the Grafton Costco but when she moved to Pewaukee, we moved our files with her practice. She is as caring as she is talented and certainly, is worth the extra long drive to Pewaukee. Here is one example: I had dry eye problem - especially in winter months. I went to see two Ophthalmologists. One of them was considered to be a leading Ophthalmologist in town. Both of them told me to use artificial tears, daily. They both told me, I got it because I look at the computer too much, with insufficient blinking.. and I am thinking - "Duh! Blinking is subconscious! What am I to do.. remind my eyes to blink more often?". They were explaining the problem and not the solution! When I went to see Dr. Christensen for an eye exam, I mentioned my dry eyes problem to her casually, as a part of patient history. Immediately, she said - just drink a lot of water and you won't need the eye drops.. She was absolutely right.. I no longer need eye drops! Dr. Christen is so very talented that she is the only doctor who explained to me that she can notice indications of high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes, while examining the eye! She explained that people with high blood pressure will have pronounced capillary veins. She is the most talented Ophthalmologist that I have ever met! Once you meet her, immediately, you will see that she is genuinely interested in your well being. She charges only $60 for eye glass exam.. In the past I had paid $200 for a ophthalmologist for an eye exam and he was no where as good as Dr. Chritensen! If you are older than 50, I would encourage you to go with a designated driver and plan for 2 hours of time, so that she can dilate your eyes (1 hour for dilation) and give you a thorough exam! It would be well worth the effort.

Left eye for reading has Stigatism and right eye for distant. My vision was blurred on computer and at night. This is my first time wearing contacts, so it was a challenge finding the right balance for my prescription. Dr. Sheikh did and excellent job tweaking and making adjustments to make that perfect balance. Highly recommend her especially if you are a new contact user. Go to a Specialist!! Do not waist your time going to a local optical and getting rushed to order contacts like I did. A specialist like Dr. Sheikh is going to make sure you walk out with a smile and is happy with your new contacts. YAY I can see without my glasses

A refund was refused and management never followed up with my complaint. Please beware of providers taking advantage of seniors. If I was informed that a specialist fee was to be charged I would have went elsewhere!
