First things first: The only good reviews on this site come from the current BCBA's (there are…read moreonly 2 active BCBA's, all other BCBA/Admin sit behind desks in different states), (I also say "active" with a grain of salt) who were paid to write the reviews as well as the owner and one of the branch managers who was given such an increase in salary for a job that was quickly diminished -to their now, demoted role and cannot find a job elsewhere that would pay the same amount of money. This company is illegitimate. The amount of unethical work being done here is absurd. The communication is lacking incredibly. The only time you can expect communication to be happening is if there is something you've done "wrong". This company has absolutely no OBM capability/implementation and will use punishment tactics the moment their motives are questioned. There is only one male BCBA at the company who is a misogynistic human being, who spoke to me like he owned me, while standing in a client's home. Specifically, "Don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you", in front of my client and family as well as a new tech, during a placement. He's also spoke to some of my co-workers in a negatively and in harassment manner, however that is not for me to voice. Of course, I wrote an email about it, I did not see how it was appropriate to be speaking like that to another human/female. My complaint was forwarded and of course, nothing was done. As per usual. You will see that being a normal course of action at this company, or lack thereof. When I say, "nothing was done", I want to be very clear that the admin of this company makes sure they document encounters, so it looks like something has been done but at the end of the day, they have barely anyone working for them and way too many clients to keep up with. So, the complaints mean nothing because they need bodies to fill roles, to make money. So, they call meetings, they use a lot of words, and they never follow up and continue with "changes don't happen overnight", in every meeting. Which is true, except at Speech Connections, positive changes never happen. The last three-four months of my "career" here was an experiment for me. I engaged in specific behaviors to see what would come of it, and it played out exactly like I thought it would. Company write ups, calls, punishments, etc. I was prepared for it; I knew how it would go as I watched it happen with other supervisors. But I needed to see it for myself. They are extremely consistent in the way they punish their employees. That's about the only consistency you'll be seeing. I as a QASP-S managed a 15-person caseload, without my consent for months, without seeing a BCBA. (BACB, QABA, Illegal). Of course, they were available via email, text, call but never once in person for 3-4 months. The moment I questioned this company's motives, I had 3 write-ups within 2 weeks. And magically, the BCBA who I had not seen in months was showing up to my clients. They love to push an employee out. But again, I was prepared and just continuing to document everything via my personal email, I also ensured that all my company emails were forwarded to my personal email. (Just a little hint for you to do the same if you choose to continue on this path). From the time I became a supervisor August 2021-to now -January 2023, (17 months) 24 (yes you read that correctly- TWENTY-FOUR) supervisors had left this company. I WISH I was lying too. I wanted to be the person that could help relay the issues that are happening to admin so that they would be able to fix these issues and stop creating such a high turnover rate, however they were not welcoming that. As I, at a young age learned the importance of passive income that wasn't heavily reliant on your "career path", which in layman's terms means, I did not need the salary of this job, I was doing just fine without it. The higher admin (Dr.) will say phrases like "let me know when you are in need, and I will advocate for you". And then when a meeting happens with 4 other people in it, she says things like "You're being defensive and aggressive", instead of advocating for you. Of course, it is easier to put the blame on the supervisors as to why so many people are leaving this company, because that would mean they wouldn't have to take responsibility for their actions. However, 24 supervisors in 17 months hardly seems like it's a supervisor problem - if we calculate the common denominator, it would be the administration destroying the workability of the environment. If you are a tech: You can expect continuous changes in your supervisors, never having steady supervision and on-going issues with those in supervisory roles. You can expect a lack of knowledge due to new supervisors being thrown in the field and not knowing how to appropriately run the software programs or engage in feedback. You can expect to not have consistent hours, they will present the job to you as If you would have

Tamra is an AMAZING advocate for special education students in our county as well as the disabled…read morecommunity in general. Tamra is extremely knowledgeable regarding myriad services for children and adults and is an amazing asset to families and our community. I am a single mother of 4 here in Wake County and 2 of my children are severely autistic with other differences including sensory processing issues and pica. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Tamra when she was assigned as my child's case manager during her tenure at the CDSA (Children's Developmental Services Agency). Tamra helped me with services for my child and also gave me a lot of advice for my other child that was already in the school system with an IEP. Tamra can help with guidance during IEP meetings and advocate for your child and I can tell you from my personal experience, she will treat your child/children as if they were her own. Tamra was even attentive and answered questions for my 2 children that don't have special needs, but were learning along with me. Tamra is very professional, attentive, determined and I promise you, you would not regret having her help you navigate the complex world of disabilty services, the school system and acquiring other services. I was extremely overwhelmed when we first met because both of my children had just been diagnosed, but Tamra took us under her wing and made me feel so much more confident and comfortable with the processes. My children love Tamra and her family....it was funny because when she started working with us we found out she literally lived in the same subdivision. Tamra's family has become framily (friends that are pretty much family).....because when people go above and beyond and do so much for your family.....they often become just like family and you develop a deep connection and respect. I am so proud of Tamra for making this leap into consulting and starting her own business and I am also so extremely thankful that our community has her. You would not regret having her help you and your family......she's top notch in every way.

The laws and regulations can be a bit confusing, especially with navigating for the first time. I highly recommend Tamra to help navigate through the confusing world of IEP's and 504's.
