This place used to be more patient focused, but after recent interactions, I made the decision to "fire" Stanley Dentistry and find a dentist with less arrogance and a bit smaller ego, and a stable office environment. I'll explain.. I had a recent need for pretty extenisive work. I asked the Stanleys for help. In this process, the staff scheduled me for various "consults" and cleanings. Several of these were botched in terms of getting the reason for the visit correct. On one occasion, I was booked to see Dr Bobbie, but when I got there, it seemed like a total suprise to the staff, including Dr Bobbie who showed up in street clothes, peeked in my mouth and told me I had to come back for consultation. This after 3 or 4 previous visits, several imaging events etc. This visit was a total waste of time and I was sent home after essentially nothing was done, except I had to agree to pay $2500 for Dr Bobbie to develop a plan to correct my bite. I relectantly agreed because it seemed like a lot just to put a plan together. The plan came in. We went over it together, it was extremely expesive. ($50K). I dont have dental insurance, so I needed to figure out how I could make this happen. In the process, I had the opportunity to seek consultation from 3 other dental practices, including maxilliofacial, orthodontic specialists and implant specialists, jaw surgeons...... there was not a shortage of qualified doctors. I got some quotes. Less than half of the previous. However, ALL OF THEM told me that the "plan" from Dr Bobbie would be detrimental to my long term health, and one told me that "Anyone who will fix this with just implants, extractions and crowns is just taking your money, its not ethical, not good medicine, not in your best interest" Soooooo.... I decided to seek more info from the jaw surgeon I had at UNC, as well as circle back to Stanley Dentistry to discuss this infromation and inquire about what they would be doing differently than the other Doctors might have perceived. BUT, at Stanley Dentistry, you're not allowed to question the Stanleys gigantic but apparently very fragile EGO. This is nothing but extreme arrogance and greed. They dont know their own boundaries and capabilities, because their ego and arrogance gets in the way of them practicing ethical quality medicine. I was told that I would have to pay an additional $188 consulting fee to talk to the almighty Dr about the $50K plan... ....THAT I ALREADY PAID $2400 FOR!!!!!! This all begs the question,.......... Why would a DDS practice in Cary NC be very eager to do this $50K plan, when 3 other dental clinics wouldnt do it for way less, because it wasnt an ethical plan? It seems to me that there might be some financial strife here in this practice. I think as a paitient over the past 2 years or so Ive seen this office environment get more and more toxic, hygenists and office staff turnover, the commandeering dictator like managment style driving them away and creating a level of fear and lack of confidence in the remaining staff. I was treated with disrespect, told falsehoods, charged excessively...... I AND YOU deserve better. Patients deserve to be treated better. Many many dentists can do crowns, extractions, implants etc.... Not all provide PATIENT CARE..... not all care for the person, beyond the wallet. Stanley Dentistry had become a toxic factory dentistry shoving patients thru without any care for their true health. The Stanleys are out for their own good only. Pathetic. The hygenists are generally good, so if all you need is an expensive cleaning, give them a call. Dont say I didnt warn you though.

There aren't words to describe the horrific way in which my husband was treated at Wells Family…read moreDental.  They told my husband that he was developing a tooth infection so to avoid any issues, my husband scheduled a tooth extraction with Stephanie Chapman.  Not only did she break my husband's tooth, but she left the room after breaking his tooth and sent in her assistant to tell my husband that he needs to go to another dental location - the earliest appointment that they could get my husband in was 4 hours later, 45 min. away.  She never came back in the room and his broken tooth was never properly gauzed or attended to.  She damaged his tooth so badly that the next dentist had to do an invasive procedure (without proper anesthesia) on my husband.  The pain my husband experienced was unbearable.  In fact, it was not healing properly and my husband had to go back for an evaluation.  The owner contacted my husband and referred him to an oral surgeon that he used to work with.  This turned out to be a disaster.  This surgeon would not help my husband.  He said that he had to follow "procedure" and even though weeks went by and my husband pleaded for some kind of help, he insisted that he must follow "procedure" and not do anything for my husband to see if it healed on its own.  He even canceled an appointment within 5 min. of the appointment arrival time - my husband had to drive 2 hours round trip + tolls.  Finally on Friday of last week, this surgeon finally admitted that my husband had a bad infection, but that he was so busy and couldn't help my husband for another 3 weeks.  What???  My husband had endured the intense and horrific pain of a tooth infection for 8 weeks now.  He's missed out on anniversary celebrations, vacations, ect.  The intense pain has caused severe migraines, and my husband has had to rely on pain meds to get him through the day.  He has had insomnia and is never without pain.  I have never experienced malpractice before so this is incredibly shocking to see the severity of pain my husband has been in and the way in which he's been treated.  This practice should be absolutely ashamed. Update: My husband had an xray to see exactly what Well's Dental did to my husband's jaw when they pulled the tooth. And they literally cut a square into my husband's jaw. Who knows the extend of repair he will need to fix his jaw. Every dentist/surgeon/periodontal doctor he sees apologizes on behalf of the dental community for the extensive damage they did to my husband. Here is the story - my wife had a tooth pulled by this doctor over a year and a half ago. She needed a filling for one of her teeth and scheduled an appointment with this doctor's office. She shows up, checks in, and has the procedure; when checking out with the same front desk clerk, she pays the 500$ and then is introduced to a unique yearly program called the 2023 Prime Membership plan. You pay an annual fee, and you get the services mentioned - it's a great idea! It also provides 10% off of procedures not part of the plan. But wait, you just charged us 500$. Could we have used this on that procedure?NOPE. Sorry, I told you about this program after your procedure the same day, and second, you charged me 500.00. So what are we talking about, 50$, right? Okay, so we went in for cleaning three days after the filling, and I spoke to the front desk clerk. I inquired how come, my wife, was not presented with this program when she checked in three days ago? She said someone had made a mistake! - Ahh.. wait a minute, you are the person that checked her in - so it was you who made a mistake. So no issue yet, I figured I would l talk to the dentist, and clearly, the front clerk warned her about this situation. She was very defensive and continued to talk in circles about,"Oh, we don't go back and correct bills from the past ", But wait, this was the exact second after I was charged. This sound like a horrible business practice. I finally had to stop her from circling around and around. She was under the impression that we just got this paper advertisement today and not three days ago. I get it. If it was after she left the office and a month later was introduced to this plan, then of course! But that is not the situation. What should have happened three days earlier was this - "Hey, you know we have this new program, and if you sign up today, we can give you 10% off today's procedure and future procedures. So you should consider it since you do not have insurance." So I finally say, you won't credit me 50.00 and run the risk of losing a customer. YEP! she started with the circle BS, and I finally said to my wife - okay, what do you want to do. So she got out of the chair, and we walked out, taking our paperwork. Now here is the business thing! All she had to do was say - oh, okay, I didn't realize you were not offered this when you checked in. I would be happy to credit you the 50.00, and we can be a long-lasting relationship. But NO! So sad to see professionals need more business sense regarding customer satisfaction. The big kicker is that when talking to the hygienist, we discussed the possibilities of two implants, and I know those are about 5K each. Your loss, intelligent business person! Good Job!

I was there for a teeth cleaning, and some x-rays. #3 The tooth cleaning was less than impressive. Some of my deepest stains did not come out and they did not have answers for why they could not get them out "in my opinion". They were all ready to do extra fillers above my eye teeth to augment where the stains were. This would be at my cost, and would make the stains, invisible to the naked eye. #4 when I went to check out, I find out there is no coordination of benefits, which was never mentioned at any point when I spoke to the office manager or staff person during the initial interview. So now I'm going to have to file the extra paperwork myself. Not cool! #5 The straw that broke the camels back is several weeks later, when I receive the bill from the insurance company stating that this dentist office is out of network for my insurance company, which I specifically asked them to check and was told they "accepted my insurance". Now I don't know what that means to them, but to me, it means that they are in network for my insurance company. Surprise, they aren't! I owe almost $350. Again, not cool!
