I started seeing Melani last year for infertility - I was having a period every 90+ days and not ovulating. I started fertility drugs through my doctor a few months prior but was still not seeing progress despite all my labs being normal. I had never done acupuncture, and while I wasn't sure if it would help, I knew it wouldn't hurt. Melani and I had a long discussion about my lifestyle, including exercise and nutrition (both of which I thought I was doing all the "right" things), and she looked at my lab results. In addition to weekly acupuncture, she quickly identified some steps I could take to improve my chances of conceiving. With her guidance, I started having a win each month showing what we were doing was working, even if in small increments. After about 4 months of seeing Melani, a true miracle - I conceived on my own without the help of any fertility drugs! After continuing to see Melani through the first trimester, we are expecting a healthy baby girl in June. I can say with certainty if I stayed the path of just doing infertility treatment through my doctors, I would not have gotten pregnant when I did and probably would have had to do IVF (which still has low success rates of 20-35%). Used to seeing Melani in SF but the short drive to Pacifica is so beautiful and worth it. Her treatments for my arthritic sports injured knee have been invaluable.
