Below are my reviews for private sessions with Dr. Yangdron Kalzang since 2024 and community acupuncture I had in 2023: Dr. Kalzang is the only Tibetan and Chinese Medicine doctor I know of in the USA from Tibet! Dr. Kalzang gently and intuitively healed at least one issue per session that wouldn't budge despite visits to many practitioners several times within months: an osteopath doctor, physical therapist, herbalist, acupuncturists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and energyworkers. Dr. Kalzang generously shared her time, herbs, and techniques. My first session was one of the most holistic sessions I've experienced. It used all my five senses: sight, smell, taste, touch, and voice, and was unlike any healing session I had before. It was like healings I read about where the practitioner combines acupuncture, cupping, warm oil, herbs, color, and incense therapy, and Buddhist mantras. I appreciated that she gave me optional Buddhist mantras I could say to bless the herbs before I eat them. I also appreciated that she explained the main difference between Tibetan and Chinese Medicine. She spoke at retreats with a famous author of Tibetan dream yoga. She was also very thoughtful because she put acupressure seeds in my ear because it's hard for me to trek to her often. Another time, she cupped me exactly where my body showed I needed it and sent me off into the world with a sticker with a little needle in spots where I could feel them working. Here are some other Tibetan medicine modalities I experienced as described on her website: Sang-bom Therapy: Copper cupping releases more tension and stress of emotional and mental imbalances, and the glass cupping works better with acute pain and chronic muscular and skeletal pain as well as the treatment of other cold syndromes. Hor-mey therapy (): Herbal wraps are soaked in heated oil, then applied to special points on the body. Hor-mey works to balance our wind-element energy, known as "Loong" (). I have to write a second awesome review! My daughter had a painful UTI and on the first day of her symptoms I took her to urgent care and they prescribed her AZO and antibiotics. Two days later she still had the same symptoms and the nurse calls and says to stop giving the antibiotics cus it wouldn't work for her and to just wait it out for 7 days. 7 days of suffering? I think not. Thankfully I never gave her the antibiotics in fear of that outcome. My daughter is a current patient of Dr. Kalzang and she was the one who told me to reach out to her in her. Words can't express my gratitude for and relief in finding Dr. Kalzang. I have been dealing with gut issues for the past 5 years. Two years ago I had major hair loss. I went to my PCP and they ran tests and couldn't find anything abnormal. The hair loss came back with a vengeance this year alongside other troubling symptoms. They ran tests again and referred me to a dermatologist, who essentially said he didn't know because everything was normal on the lab report. When I went to Dr. Kalzang she immediately took me seriously, did not diminish the hair loss and compassionately asked for my own assessment of my health, something Western physicians undervalue, deferring to labs reports over a patient's introspection. She immediately diagnosed that I was anemic based on my symptoms and pulse and within two weeks my hair loss reduced by half! My PCP had told me to reduce food intake to one meal a day to curb cholesterol. She told me that my conditions were connected and I actually needed to eat three meals a day. If she had not helped me I would be seriously ill. She also asked me questions about my sleep, diet and emotions. These are all interrelated and largely downplayed by Western medicine, which doesn't look at health from a systems approach. The herbs she gave me impacted not just the hair loss but also helped me sleep and also improve my gut issues, no more bloating and gas! I highly recommend Dr. Kalzang and Tibetan medicine in general. Western medicine is great for some things, but for issues that are systemic, they are too reliant on data and what they can bill, despite seeing a sick patient and acknowledging something's wrong. These tests are also not sensitive. I would have had to have serious issues with iron deficiency before they would have figured it out. In this way, Tibetan medicine far surpasses Western medicine as it can pick up issues faster. Dr. Kalzang gave me hope for the first time! Still ongoing issues but hopeful the diet changes, treatments and herbs will cure this altogether. read more

I had been dealing with severe vertigo and had gone to see a variety of doctors and all kinds of exams, blood work, etc and no one could figure out why all of a sudden I had severe vertigo. Umm- wow, just wow. First relief I've had for my (very) chronic migraines/headaches, and I have tried a number of things. She is super helpful to talk to about health concerns. I broke my foot in 2 places last summer and the orthopedist said it would take 12-16 weeks to heal. I found Kunde Institute by accident as they are located in the same building as LabCorp. This is definitely the best find for acupuncture and Dr. Kalzang and her staff are the greatest. After going through PT and a cortisone shot by my orthopedic doctor, I wanted to try an alternative method to relieve arthritic joint pain in both knees and left hip. Following the first acupuncture treatment along with the Tibetan warm oil massage, I had noticeable pain relief and easier mobility in the arthritic joints. I have had subsequent acupuncture sessions which have contributed to becoming pain free with the ability for unrestricted movement. When Dr. Kalzang places the needles in different areas on my body, I can't even feel the needles penetrating the skin. During the first trimester of my pregnancy, I was plagued with chronic headaches, tension in my neck and shoulders, and severe constipation. I moved down to the SouthBay so I stopped coming up to TWHC for about a year. My heartburn issue got a lot worse--to the point where I started taking PPIs. They're pretty strong and have a weird effect on my digestive system that I don't like. So I started making the trek up to Daly City once a month for treatment at TWHC. Symptoms have subsided again and I'm feeling healthy. Genuinely healthy. I don't know how or why, but her prescribed combination of medicinal herbs and stress reduction therapy has really improved my well being.
