We had some issues with the existing paint and lead; Thiago's team did a good job prepping the surface to minimize the effect of the prior painting job. His crew arrived on time every day, was minimally invasive, and very friendly. They got the job done in a week, despite one day of rain when they couldn't work. Although it's only been a week, the paint job looks great. Thiago is incredibly responsive, which is rarely the case with contractors. After the job, a phone line had been left dangling (not a big deal). I texted Thiago, and within a couple of hours, it was fixed. We got 3 bids for the job, and Thiago's Painting was by far the best value. One room needed to have a ceiling re-plastered and Thiago brought a plasterer in to do the work, which was very convenient for me. I can't praise Thiago and his crew enough. The job was the exterior of a large house with cedar shingle siding and wood trim. I have never had a painting company do such a thorough job of preparation, which is the most important and time-consuming part of the project. After the standard power washing they spent days scraping and sanding all the shingles (a new paint job was well overdue). Then they applied an oil-based primer where needed and two coats of finish solid stain. They sprayed the stain on and then back-brushed or rolled it, which is probably the best method of application for shingles. The trim received similar attention as well as a small deck. They also replaced sections of rotted trim at a reasonable price. The work was excellent (no drips like the college kids leave) and they were very neat, cleaning up each evening before leaving. The two-man crew was friendly and polite, and would ask questions if they were not sure what we wanted done in a particular spot. In any large job there will always be some mistakes, but they came back immediately to fix the few minor oversights. I had gotten quotes from four highly rated painters and Thiago was the lowest and he did not require an advance deposit. And there were no surprises when the final invoice arrived. Since he provided the best paint job I have every gotten, I doubt any of the other painters could have done a better job at any price. The house looks great and with the extensive preparation work I expect it to continue to look great for some time. Thiago is friendly and easy to work with. I only have compliments and no criticisms. I strongly recommend Thiago's Painting to anyone who wants an excellent paint job at a good price. I certainly will call on him for my future painting needs. read more
