Matt was so friendly, accommodating and just pleasant to deal with. He gave us menus, options that were clear and answered our questions fast. When we met in person, we knew this was the spot not just for the view and ballroom but, by Matt's personality and smile. Keisha also was great with our block of rooms for our family. It was the 1st time our family was complete in over 10 years so this was really memorable for us. The Christmas decorations, the tree, the centerpieces and the FOOD. Everyone is still raving about how excellent the venue and party was. We checked in for the weekend and were greeted with a smile and ALOHA from Shawn. He always asked if our family needed anything or what he can do to make our stay better. Truly appreciated that. The chai tea latte was a hit. Never had that option at a venue before but it was the perfect touch for the cold weather. The staff during the event were awesome. So friendly, so attentive and always asked if we needed anything. Appreciate you all. Friends were even asking for more information to host a future wedding and event there...I gladly gave them Matt's contact information. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The lobby of the Anderson Ballroom was perfect for our family portraits as well. The location was key to many restaurants, bars within walking distance as well. And, family even hopped on the light rail to do some last minute shopping at Bellevue Square. For being a public-run facility the facilities seemed to have a nice clean appearance, the linens were clean and tasteful. It's definitely old, and out of certain sides you clearly see playgrounds and other people so it's not the most private thing in the world, but that's alright. I'm sure it was stunning in its heyday. It's been well restored and maintained. For the purposes in which I attended (Sakura-con staff party with Firstborn) this was a great layout and set-up. For certain events, however, I can see how the layout of the Mansion could be difficult to work with. Depending upon your needs and the size of your event. For weddings, I think it would work best for a small affair (under 75 people) or as a staging and reception area with the ceremony outside on the grounds. There were well over a hundred people and their families in attendance the night I was there and it never really felt crowded or sparse anywhere you went. The catering staff was also just fabulous. They kept the food coming throughout the night, cleared tables quickly and were all in smiley-good spirits.

We calculated how much money we were getting after their fees and all the repairs they had done (for our 1990 house that was in great shape) and it turned out to be 65% of the rent. If you need anything be prepared to interact with their robust team of offshore folks in the Philippines. We are still unclear why we needed our septic pumped 2x within 2 years and were quoted $3-4k each time as they did not send us the detailed breakdown of the requested work. We had a suspicion that the folks they use for maintenance and for other repairs were financially incentivized or tied to the company as we did not receive multiple bids and it looked like SJA had ties to the company doing the work. Shout out to Kayla Schwartz who never answered any of my emails until I cc'd Claudette Scott. They did not seem to fully do walk throughs and left our property and wood floors covered in dog pee pads during the walk through. We requested that they not allow tenants to use our fireplace and found they had left that in the listing so we were legally obligated to allow it. Neat. If you want to lose significant amounts of value and gain 0 value except for a huge headache, SJA is the property management firm for you!

Each time I've reached out to her, be it something minor or something important, she's prompt in getting back to me and she's excellent at following through until the situation is resolved. I appreciate her responses especially since AI and automation are at an all-time high. She's delightful to work with, and I know when I turn to her for questions or a problem, she will take care of it. On my scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) she is definitely a 10!
