I want to start by saying you get what you put in. I went to this school back in 2017. At the…read moretime, their weekend schedule was the only one in the area that worked for me. After receiving my CNA license here, I was able to get a job at a large hospital in the Silicon Valley as a PCT in the same year. I later became an ED tech for the same organization. I continued my education / prerequisites for nursing school while working as a tech and later got accepted into a nursing school in San Jose. This allowed me to work while in Nursing school, and complete the program. My experience was great at this school. Yes, you had to study a bit on your own. And yes, some things may have been outdated, but this school allowed me to get certified while I continued to work my 8-5. It ultimately helped me kickstart my nursing career. My path to becoming a nurse would have been significantly different if this program was not available to me. Other programs took way too long or did not fit with my work schedule. Thank you South Bay School of Nursing!

Originally I wasn't going to post a review, but I feel as I should since my experience wasn't the…read morebest. This school is very unorganized. The head administrator is a retired LVN, and her husband also works as part of administration. There are no online portals or true credentials you get as a student. The only file you have is a manila folder with the proper school forms and whatnot. During my short time there, the head administrator never knew where she placed our files, or was forgetful and always had trouble remembering or doing something. Asking for help from her was almost pointless because she most likely didn't know the answer. Yet, she is quick to collect money and almost always reminds her students to pay on time. Although this school is more affordable compared to other CNA programs in the Bay Area, you do get a sense that they are money hungry for their business. For instance, I paid a certain amount for tuition, but when overhearing admin talk on the phone to a possible student, she told them it was $200 more than what the current class is paying. Not sure how they determine their prices, but this is why it is important for students to do their research. Getting a refund was almost hard too. To be honest I don't think I was refunded the proper amount, but hey I guess they need the money more than I do. Due to Covid, classes were still held in person but the student average was about 12 students. Luckily, there was another LVN who is an instructor for the course. Instructor Akua is super friendly, passionate about his work, and is a great teacher. This rating is more for him, since he actually teaches and takes over majority of the time. I learned a lot from him during my 2 weeks there, and he was even sad to see me leave. If anything I wish admin would treat him better too. He was promised a laptop for his lectures but still hasn't received one. He is hardworking and practically has no days off since he teaches the weekend and some evening classes too. This school is what you make of it, so as long as you pay attention and read the material, you have high chances of passing. And to everyone who was in that same class with me.... lol, best of luck to yall.

    Ly's Pole Studio - Showcase from 11/16/25

I've attended classes with Ly, Yisha, Jane, Yoko, Jo, Katya, and some other guest and sub instructors. There are a variety of classes offered for a fair price point. Each instructor has their own teaching style, but they all focus on student success and encouragement. I originally started pole dancing as a way to honor myself and my body, and with the help of the instructors, I've gained a level of self confidence that I never had. If I ever need to cancel class, Ly always checks to make sure I'm okay and asks if I need anything. Even though she has a lot of students, she's very caring and mindful of each individual. The classes are structured with a warm up, the instruction and practice, time to record/practice independently, and a cool down. The instructors provide hands on spotting throughout class and will walk you through any move to ensure safe techniques to avoid injury or troubleshoot if a move isn't working for you. Instructors will also provide simpler or more advanced variations of one move to ensure access and a challenge for each student. I am a pretty sensitive and shy person, but the community at this studio helps me break out of my comfort zone with a lot of positive encouragement. I highly recommend Ly's pole studio for your aerial arts journey.

Upon arrival, the instructor inspected my nails, handed me a nail clipper, and told me to cut them even shorter. I've trained at multiple studios, including Circus Center in SF, and have never had this requirement taken to this extreme. The studio uses an aerial rig that requires tying on a frame, and when I didn't know how to adjust the silks, the instructor seemed annoyed at having to explain it. During the class, she demonstrated a silks sequence twice, expected us to follow, and when I had difficulty, she told me to move to the Level 1 class. So, my second (and final) visit was to Aerial Silks Level 1. Asia still seemed irritated that I didn't instantly know how to rig the setup; this was only my second time there. Class started 15 minutes late, with just three students total. We then spent the entire hour doing inverts in a knot behind the back. I'm not exaggerating, nothing else for the whole session. When I asked to try something different, I was ignored and told we wouldn't move forward until my invert had zero knee bend. After 30 minutes of nonstop inverts, anyone's legs would fatigue. I've never had such an unpleasant, condescending experience with a teacher. I wasted a session credit on a class that not only started late but also taught me nothing.

My…read morethen 16-year-old son initially had 3 - 2-hour intensive driving training sessions and took their thorough on-line training course, which positioned him to pass the written DMV examine. More recently we signed him up for their Drive Test Package which included a 1-hour pre-drivers test lesson with an experienced ex-DMV examiner and followed by a successful driving test at the DMV. Our first interaction with A-Z Driving School was with Erin, she was very helpful and thoroughly went over all the options of service they provide. The prices are fair, they offer continuously flexible session times, and their cars are clean and recent models. A-Z's driving instructors are professional, patient and exude great communication and experience to teach effectively. We'd like to extend special thanks to Erin, Dillion and Anita. They helped us through this necessary but stressful life event and are terrific people.

His first lesson was with Natalie. She was great. He was very nervous and she helped ease his nerves. After the lesson, she had wrote down the areas he needed to focus on. She went over it with both my son and me. He also got a checklist to prepare for the driving test. His next two lessons were with Steve, who was very professional and got him on the freeway and helped him with preparing for the exam including backing up. A few months later, we got two more lessons (4 hours). Erin again was a great help in helping schedule. He had another lesson with Steve. He also had another instructor Katie, also professional and helped him with parking and other areas he requested more practice with. My son passed his driving exam today on the first try. The foundations provided to him definitely helped. I've recommended A-Z to other parents looking for lessons.
