The first two times I lost weight and kept it off as long as I followed their program. My experience this time was not as good. Jillian was the PA at the Capitola location from the time I started in October 2020 until a few months ago. She was an outstanding clinician and very helpful to me, as we navigated the changes to my thyroid levels. Since she left, there has been a revolving door of qualified and not-so-qualified people at this location. My weight loss has stalled. The person I most recently met with, who didn't even have the courtesy to introduce herself, told me that the laws of thermodynamics were causing me to not lose weight. At that point I knew that there was no talking to her and no point in continuing this program. What impressed me about JumpstartMD initially was that it was based on science. "Thermodynamics" has no place in the science of weight loss, nor does someone who is under-educated and smug about it. I met with Dr. Sean Burke as well a few weeks ago and he also insisted that the problem is that I need to cut calories. Blame the victim. It seems to me this program has lost its way.
