However, we had need of a more customised holiday trip than just a standard return flight as we want to got to New Zealand and then spend a few days in Sydney on the way back; so as we were passing and purely on a whim, we went in here to see what they could offer. As it turns out, they specialise in Oz & NZ flights and Craig, the assistant manager, was super helpful and advised us on several different options. We went home with a brochure and made a list of things we wanted to include, then (having made an appointment) we went back in to meet Craig again. After immediately saving us nearly £1000 by going with a different airline (via Gatwick, my least favourite airport, but hey ho), Craig immediately got on the phone whilst we went and did a bit of shopping. Twenty minutes later, he had put together the whole itinerary, including hotels, car hire, ferries, flights - the lot! It's probably the most expensive holiday we've ever booked, and I don't know how much more or less it would have cost had we tried to sort everything out ourselves; but I really don't care! The time it saved, and the ease at which Craig put this complete package together made it entirely worthwhile, as all we need to do now (apart from paying the balance of course!) is turn up at the airport, secure in the knowledge that every detail of the trip is taken care of.

The only reason, I say seemingly is because; despite having superb advice and spending hours pouring over their deals and then regurgitating them to a selection of family and friends, I have never actually booked a holiday here. Shameful, I know but money rules the world, not love unfortunately. Otherwise, I'd have been globe trotting with the help of these lovely people for some time. Therefore, if you have the finances then please go and see what Flight Centre can offer you. It's cheap, cheerful and a great place to be. The only better holiday place is being actually on holiday.

Booked our second holiday here the other day and now consider the chat with our regular Thomson rep (I won't embarass anyone with names) as all part of the process. A relaxed vibe in here (except on Saturdays!) where you can exchange money and book excursions and other things on top of planning and booking a holiday. Super easy to pay up all holidays, simply jumping in to pay off a wee bit more at a time up until 3 months before your departure date. Booked a holiday from here that was the backdrop to our wedding and it was amazing. We didn't have a great time with travelling, and when we told them about the specifics they were shocked and immediately got on top of it and fought our case with the parties involved on our behalf. Happiness.

They're so friendly and enthusiastic - after explaining my needs, I fully expected the guy to say "ohmyword that sounds fantastic - mind if I come with you?!". Almost slightly scary. I used Trailfinders at the beginning of the year to help organise a holiday - I gave them dates, a list of possible locations, and my (tiny) budget, and they came up trumps with a bargainous trip, £50 below my initial budget. Needless to say, when I eventually went on said trip, we had a fantastic time, the flights worked out well, and the hotel was non-too shabby. Fantastic.

Not that…read morethey ignore other holidaymakers, but they seem to specialise in long haul flights, and have none of the stuffy, formal air of many travel agents. They are more than willing to seek out alternatives to the package approach, have access to plenty of options and know their destinations. I prefer to use Trailfinders, when I am not on the Internet looking for planet-destroying cheap flights, as I get the sense that they know their travel.

The Virgin Holidays store in Glasgow (within Debenhams) is small but the staff know what they are doing and will assist with anything that you need for your holiday in order to make your time away as special as possible, maybe even some Virgin exclusives. The store is always clean and I've never had to wait to be served, unlike other big name high street travel agents. You will pay more with Virgin, but I'd rather pay more and get a better experience than pay less and loose out on something on the few days holiday that we look forward to, and plan for, for so long. We've been paying up our holiday every month, the staff have always dealt with the payments without any issues and it's great to see a confirmation e-mail coming through as well as being able to see the remaining balance on line. So overall, great customer experience, great product, sometimes exclusives but expensive compared to other high street travel agents

If you have any queries about a destination if the member of staff does not know then they will go and find out for you. I have alos left them my details in past of what I have been looking for and they have phoned me back the next day with holidays that they have on offer. I prefer this as saves me hanging around in the shop for a couple of hours. Foreign Exchange is also available and rates are usually not too bad a price.
