She said he was a joy to work with, and very kind, humble and knowledgeable. She suggested I try him. Hands-down, he is the best doctor that I've ever seen. He has wonderful bedside manner, was very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He wasn't condescending. I don't need to see a neurosurgeon often, so it won't be often that I need to see him, but I wish there were more doctors like him. If you need a neurosurgeon, he's amazing

The pain was excruciating, resulting in me having to go to the emergency room because the pain was so bad that it was adversely impacting my blood pressure. Due to multiple trips to the emergency room I was admitted. The attending physician in her discharge notes referred me as normal to an orthopedic specialist, but she also mentioned that there was a neurosurgeon in the Piedmont Physician's Group that she would like for me to obtain a consult. Of course the Ortho doctor initially ordered PT which did not help me and after 2 months of that, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Gates, for the first time, a doctor actually listened to me. He ordered a nerve study and other test and more x-rays and when I returned for our consultation, he took time, we reviewed the results and he provided a diagnosis and plan of action. Diagnosis, sciatica and my L4 & L5 disc had slipped and was pinching my nerves. At this time I am on a walker. I had gone in less than 6 months from high impact aerobics to living, breathing and with every movement of my body being in horrible pain & only able to be slightly mobile on a walker with no relief regardless as to the strength of the pain medication. So very thankful for the ER's referral to Dr. Gates! He was caring, listened to my concerns and fears and provided me with a comprehensive plan of action that included a foraminotomy procedure that restored my quality of life and removed constant, tingling in my (R) leg and hip and living without constant pain and discomfort. Thank you Dr. Gates for your professional, caring approach to patient care. In my months of care with this physician, he only presented himself as a physician that was 100% dedicated to improving my health! 2 years later and I am still happy and pain free! Praying that you experience the same outcome, GOD BLESSED ME WITH DR. GATES!

From the first phone call, where you're greeted by the patient coordinator, Leslie, with warmth and friendliness you'd expect from someone you'd known your whole life---to the doctors who work tirelessly and with boundless kindness and patience to get to the root of your problem and prescribe real solutions. They also have senses of humor, which helped me feel instantly safe. You'll have the most thorough initial exam and consultation you've ever had, and most likely, the doctors will discover things in a few hours that no mainstream neurologists had had the time or inclination to uncover in your pursuit for answers and help. The doctors at Innova change lives. And not with magic, but with science, specificity, and hands-on intervention. I was losing control of half of my body, particularly my foot. Within the first few days of treatment, Dr. Duffy had me tapping it like Gregory Hines. My balance was noticeably better. And I could walk like a normal person, not lurch like a Frankenstein monster. We continue to work--you have to be ready to devote some months to getting better, and I've had problems that have persisted. This is where Innova and Dr. Duffy truly blew my mind. He didn't write me off, he came up with yet MORE solutions, including looking at the latest research and involving other practitioners in my care when it was clear there were some unaddressed medical issues. And he and Leslie continue to always be available by phone and email with questions and freak-outs and for same-day appointments if I have an issue that needs more hands-on help. This practice is special. If you're close to giving up, as I was, and this feels like your last hope, trust me when I say it is definitely a place for HOPE. And you might laugh while you're there too.

He now acts like the extremely intelligent boy he is without any issues with anger or tics. It is just too bad that you have associated your office with Mr Quentin Jenkins. Patient success does not end with the surgery and it has been a night mare for my wife and I With her recovery. We left out your office today with talks of suicide from my wife. Mr. Quentin Jenkins has treated my wife badly ever since she came in due to an infection after surgery. We did not show up to blame any one, we just needed help. He simply told us " This is not due to surgery" and that her stomach pains was not either. Well thank you Mrs. Kristen for helping my wife to the car and calling the hospital concerning our arrival. My wife bowels had stop functioning correctly due to her medication after surgery. Today was our next encounter with Mr. Jenkins and it was still the same unprofessional attitude. We came on time for our appointment ( I have the appointment card to prove it) We arrived at 9:17am for a 9:30 appointment, my wife ended up walking out the BACK at 10:30am begging me to help her to the car. That Mr. Jenkins was busy sitting in his office this whole time. How is this possible if not intentional? As I told Mr. Jenkins of his unprofessionalism, he asked me to come to the back. Well Mr. Jenkins your patient is the one you should have spoken to. It is sad that my wife's path to recovery has been so rough. She had back surgery! We came in today with her back stinging. We left out barley making it to the car and her not wanting to live any more. So thank you very much Premier Neurosurgical Institute.

Dr. Maloon looked at me all of five minutes and didn't even do an exam or check my blood pressure. When I was going over my symptoms he interrupted me and told me I was going way too fast for him to keep up. Seriously? You're a neurologist. Told me I had nothing wrong with me but he would send me for an MRI to prove to me that it's all in my head and there's nothing wrong with me. The office never called to schedule the MRI and when I called to leave multiple voicemails I received no call back. They literally blew me off completely. Dr. Maloon proceeded to tell me I just had migraines and sent me home with migraine medication. Migraine medications severely lower blood pressure in people who already have low BP. Which I do and he didn't even check it so how would he know? Very disappointed in this doctor. Beware. Don't waste your time here. You won't get answers. I went back to my Rheum who in fact did blood work and is suspecting MS. Sending me for an MRI and referring me to another specialist who will get me the help and treatment I need.

Selecting THIS Dr's office has been nothing but a nightmare since we began seeing them. 1. No matter what time your appt is/when you arrive you can expect a wait of atleast 30-45 minutes in the waiting room and another 20-30 minutes before you are seen by Dr Villasana. 2. Dr Villasana doesnt recall previous visits/conversations so you have to remind him of your previous visits (with him ) to him. 3. My spouse visits Dr Villasana monthly for a Neurological disorder and goes to a nearby local hospital for 'infusion services'.. I always wondered why it took the infusion center so long to dispense the medication (we're talking about a 2-3 hour process taking 6 hours).. I was finally advised by one of the infusion nurses that they were waiting for the Dr's office to send the 'its ok to dispense' order. So the Dr's office knew that we were heading to the infusion center immediately after leaving their office and it still took them 3 hours to send the infusion center the 'ok to dispense' paperwork. 4. I faxed over time sensitive disability life insurance forms 2x to only receive a letter from the insurance company a month later advising that benefits had been suspended and that they had NOT gotten the paperwork from the Dr's office. 5. I spoke to XXXXX who advised me that the paperwork had been faxed to the insurance co. I asked that they refax and to fax me a copy for my records as well. Long story short.. the fax I received was NOT what I asked for (NOT disability insurance related ). So, They DID NOT fax the paperwork to the Ins company and here it is 2pm on a Monday afternoon and noones answering the phones.(They just reopened after lunch at 1:15p so where the heck is everyone and why arent they answering their phones? I would NOT recommend this Dr's office, nor am I looking forward to going back. We will be looking for a new Neurologist ASAP.

Had it not been for the awesome relationship you have with Casey Geiger & his team @Geiger Legal, I wouldn't be where I am today without the relationships both your teams have formed! More to come below... So, let me just start! Chase, my man! It was a Monday start for us for sure but it was a rough 8am Monday for many of us! You've always been very helpful & courteous, thank you & don't stop! Chevis, Genesis & Crystal: since day 1, all 3 of you've been great! Thanks for taking the time to just listen or if I need additional clarity, you 3 have really gone above & beyond! You three have also been super helpful every step & always so kind. Please don't lose those qualities! Brittany, your amazing way of explaining things is a gift! You've helped in areas you're NOT a part of & that's rare these days! Thank you so much! Ms. Danielle, you've done everything in your power to make sure I have been & are doing ok. Like your teammates mentioned prior, you've gone above & beyond in every way! The weekend visit to check on me @ the hospital...yeah, guess that's just you! Amazing! Thank you! For the staff in the on site operation department: Lady at the check in, you've always had this wonderful greeting for me & always remember me. That's a great thing to hear when walking in for a procedure! Thanks for making 'easier'! Nurses for my injections...thank you for putting up with me while on the table (multiple times) and my 'choice' of words & phrases that are definitely off color! I'm sorry I don't remember your names but all of you put up with me and each of you made sure I was always as comfortable as possible! Thank you all! Dr. Elshihabi, what more can I say about you that I haven't included above about your team?! We are now well over a year since my treatment started with you. I've had surgery (4/19/24) since & currently recovering. You're a very gifted person and you're doing what you are meant to do. Without your steady hands, my surgery wouldn't have been a success (so far! ) Your compassion & empathy for me (and my wife) have been very welcomed. Your calm demeanor really helped relax me for such a major spinal operation. Thank you. Saying this seems empty but it is not. I cannot express my gratitude enough to you & your ENTIRE staff for the care I have received and continue to receive. As I continue to recover from surgery, I look forward to the ABSOLUTELY BEST CARE that I have received thus far to only continue! No matter what situation may arise, I know I can count on every person at Legacy Brain & Spine to do what they've been doing; going above & beyond to make sure they're patients are well cared for! From my experience, this is normal to them and wonderful for me! My greatest thank you Legacy Brain & Spine!!! Jeff C.

My Kyphoplasty was scheduled 2 weeks in advance for a 7;15 am arrival Monday morning 4/6/26. Upon arrival, we saw the entire office staff was waiting outside. They had been locked out of their own office! Apparently the internet went down overnight. No IT support. 45 minutes later a maintenance worker showed up with hammer and chisel! An hour later, the surgeon took over and started using the hammer. Finally, at 8:45 we finally got in. After the staff got themselves settled we gave them our name and the time of our appointment (7:15) - we were instructed to take a seat. Odd they never gave us a clipboard to fiill out. Which gave us plenty of time to stare at their waiting room "Island of Doctor Moreau" wall mural. After another 30 minutes. we re-approached the desk, THEY HAD NO RECORD OF OUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT!!! and DEI hires were content just to let us just sit there. After raising hell, a NP went back and talked the surgeon Dr. Ehlishabi, (we asssumed). Another NP came out and said they might be able to fit us in around 1:30! THE LAST THING ANY PATIENT WANTS - IS TO BE RUSHED INTO SURGERY THAT THEIR STAFF WAS NOT PREPARED FOR!! - WE LEFT - Never saw Dr. Ehlishabi. And that wall mural? It turned out to be an Omen!!!

The NP spent a total of 10min and only about 3-5 of that was a little push and pull test. She then decided my diagnosis without any tangible imaging to look at. I asked her several times for imaging to confirm and after a back and forth on messaging she finally relented and ordered an MRI. But it was clear from the start that she felt my issue was a waste of her important time as this was "a surgeons office ". I don't know if she had a problem with me being Deaf and had an interpreter present or not I can only make an assumption. After going back and forth for a few days she then said I needed to find someone else to see. I called to speak to the office manager and when I finally did she began the conversation aggressively. Then the Dr took the phone. He was also aggressive and agitated, I matched his energy. Just because you're a Dr doesn't mean you can treat people like dirt and I advocate for myself well. Even after that I tried to send a message that was almost apologetic. I was trying to be able to stay within the wellstar system. They have staff interpreter that come automatically without having to fight for them. It's a constant struggle and one I try to avoid at any cost. But the next day I see in MyChart that the Dr has entered "documentation". Basically he tried to put everything on me, I was the rude and unprofessional one to them not the other way around. I admit I did match HIS energy on the call and that energy was aggressive. But it was only in response to his aggressive demeanor. So he lied to cover his rear end rather than being an adult and taking accountability for himself or his NP. I will now have to find care outside wellstar and fight for the ability to communicate with the next health professional. I can only hope they are more empathetic, professional and allow me participate in my care like every other Dr I've seen does.
