My experience was so disappointing that I genuinely hope this was an isolated situation and not how she treats all of her clients. In March 2025, I was helping a family member find a DUI attorney. I met with two lawyers and chose her because our initial consultation went extremely well. She was friendly, affordable, and very confident that she could get the hit and run charge dismissed. During that meeting, I explained that I would be helping manage the case and relaying information to my family member. She asked him directly if he consented to that arrangement and he said yes. For the first few weeks, communication was decent. This was my first experience dealing with a DUI case, so I had a lot of questions. As time went on, responses became slower and slower, sometimes taking several days or even a week. One interaction that really stood out was when I asked how my family member could obtain a temporary license. Instead of answering the question, she responded with, "I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic." I was genuinely asking for guidance and found the response unnecessarily rude and dismissive. After that, she informed me that she would only communicate directly with my family member going forward. While I respected that decision, it felt odd considering we had already discussed my involvement during the initial consultation and received my family member's consent. Over the following months, my family member repeatedly told me that he was having difficulty getting responses from her regarding the status of his case. Then, approximately nine months later, he told me that she had been completely unresponsive for about six weeks. He needed information about getting his license reinstated and didn't know what paperwork was required or what steps he needed to take. Since we couldn't get a response, I started researching the case myself. I looked up the case information on the court's website and was shocked to discover that there was an active warrant associated with the case. I called the court to confirm, and they told me the warrant was related to a missing Statement of Assets form. Unfortunately, our calls and messages continued to go unanswered. Out of desperation, I sent an inquiry through Yelp posing as a potential new client. Amazingly, I received a response within ten minutes. I scheduled a consultation and then explained who I was and that she was already representing my family member. She was understandably upset that I had contacted her that way, but I explained that we had exhausted every other method of communication. During that conversation, she stated that the case was already completed. I was confused because there was still an active warrant showing on the court record. Only after that conversation did she contact my family member and send him the required form. What surprised me even more was that my family member ultimately had to go to court himself to submit the paperwork, even though that's the lawyer's job. Had I not taken the initiative to investigate the case on my own, my family member could have continued driving without knowing there was an active warrant associated with his case. If you're considering hiring this attorney, I would strongly encourage you to do your research and make sure you're comfortable with the level of communication you can expect. My experience left me feeling frustrated, disappointed, and concerned about how the case was handled.
