We called this company last year to service our pellet stoves, and due to some unforeseen circumstances had to cancel. Since canceling Thomas's pellet service has blacklisted our from serving us at . This is no way to do business especially in a small community. While I believe they might do good work I have no way of knowing since we've never been able to schedule any sort of service. Also, please note our cancellation came well in advance of the service date as stated in their voicemail. Amazing experience with Thomas's Pellet Stove Service - I highly recommend! I called this morning to schedule an appointment and Tracy answered on the first ring - now that's customer service! My Quadra Fire igniter wasn't working correctly so she troubleshooted with me over the phone and talked with Jeff then advised what was likely causing the problem. And, they were right! :)) Talk about value! Their gracious phone advice was no charge - plus my Quadra Fire was back up and running in minutes! You rarely see quality service like you receive with Thomas' Pellet Stove Service. I recently purchased a property near downtown Placerville, and wanted to get the chimney swept prior to using the fireplace. I found some random guy that came to sweep my chimney, or at least I hope he did. He then was explaining to me how my pellet stove was not functional and that I most likely needed a new stove. Great. More money out of pocket to add to the list! Thomas' Pellet Stove Service's sticker was on the inside of the pellet storage. I decided to give them a call to see if they could come out, see what was wrong with the pellet stove and if it was even fixable, or if I have to just buy a brand new pellet stove. They were able to squeeze me in the same week, early in the morning, which was great! Mrs. Thomas called yesterday morning to confirm the appointment, which was comforting, as sometimes you get people that forget or don't show up. Mr. Thomas arrived right on time, immediately got to work, and explained things thoroughly as he was doing it, so I could learn a little bit about pellet stoves and their maintenance. While he was working on it, I made sure to ask about the igniter, the auger feed, etc. (all things the last guy said weren't working). Of course, they were all in working order! Pleasantly surprised. Although they have excellent reviews already, I wanted to take the time to write yet another one. He was super nice and friendly! Amazing service. Extremely impressed and Jeff is now our go to guy for maintenance. We have an 18-year-old pellet stove which we love. Have used several other vendors to locate a problem that we had that unfortunately put our stove out of commission for the last year and we've been freezing ever since. Jeff was able to identify the problem and completely repair the stove in under an hour. 50 minutes to be exact and he did this for a very reasonable and fair cost. This saved me thousands in replacing the entire stove for something new. Woke up this morning with temperatures in the 20s and uh-oh, the pellet stove was making a buzzing sound but not dropping pellets! After DIY attempts failed, my wife gave Thomas's a call. Given the season we braved ourselves for a long delay and high PG&E bill from running the electric furnace instead. But it was not to be. The office called back and told us Jeff happened to be in the area and would be over in 5 minutes! Before we could even put the dog in the other room there he was at our front door. A quick examination revealed the auger motor had failed. A half hour later the new motor was installed at a reasonable price and we were good to go, heating up once again. read more

I've been having my pellet stove serviced by Jeff Thomas for over 12 years, and he's always courteous, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. When I had a part go out a while ago, he asked his supplier about it, was told they didn't have one, but he went and looked himself and found the part in their stock, he went way above and beyond the norm. When my igniter stopped working recently, he gave me some tips on how to light my pellet stove myself, and didn't press me to replace the igniter, saving me a lot of money. Highly recommend Jeff Thomas! Being new to having a pellet stove I had more than a few questions. I called his service to have the pellet stove checked and cleaned. Jeff was prompt and took care to protect the area around the stove before he started. I asked him if I could use my cell phone to video him as he showed me how to operate the the stove (as I have to admit I was nervous turning it on and needed to share with my daughter later and wouldn't remember ;) He took time to explain the important do and don'ts with the stove and put us on a schedule to get the stove cleaned and inspected. Recently I purchased a used pellet stove--same stove as I already have and love elsewhere in my house--and Jeff's sticker was under the hopper lid from a prior service for the original owner. I was putting it in my very cold, bottom floor master suite and had been troubleshooting for three days the lack of ignition. I had replaced the typical parts and still nothing. In desperation, freezing and frustrated, I remembered his sticker and left a message--on New Years Day--not expecting a call back that day at least. But within an hour he had returned my call and very patiently asked helpful questions and gave me a direction to go next. He was knowledgeable, inquisitive and supportive. I texted him with a couple follow up questions and he responded right away. Once I did the things he suggested, my stove was up and running by the end of the day. He helped me just to help me, for no payment, on New Years' Day, and his expertise worked to get me warm again after five days on generator minimal power due to huge snow storm. He was there in a pinch and I think that says a great deal about his business and his character! If I ever need an actual service call, it will be Jeff Thomas I contact. Highly recommend. read more

Jeff Thomas is great at his job.I have had him come out and clean my pellet stove the last two years in a row.He was right on time and did a great job.However the person that handles his business is awful.I called early last winter and asked if I could have my stove cleaned as I had been using it around the clock since the middle of fall.I was told no we don't offer that service this time of year.She seemed upset that I had even asked.Later on last year in the dead of winter my stove broke down.When I called to see if I could get it repaired,I was told it would be over a week before they could possibly respond!I ended up taking time off my project to fix it myself.As soon as I did I phoned them back several days before the day she had scheduled the repair, so they could easily reschedule some other work for that time slot.Then earlier this year I received the yearly mailer, reminding to schedule an appointment for the stove to be cleaned.I called the next day and left a message to put me on their schedule.I then did some traveling and forgot about it.I returned home in early August and realized I had never heard back from them.When I called them back I was told that they had called me the very next day but my voice-mail box was full.I asked her if she tried the next day and was told in an extremely rude manor that they will not do that, and was hung up on. I am retired now going on six years.I did own a tree service in the S.F. bay area for thirty years and would get a full voice-mail box pretty much on a weekly basis, when returning calls.I would call back the next day or two, if the voice-mail box was still full, then I would text the number.If I got no response from the text, then and only then I would give up (this only happened ounce).Its called basic customer service!!!I have only ever posted three reviews, this being the first that was a negative review. read more
