Called this firm to fix our broken dryer. Needed six days to schedule. Alex and Jayden showed up on time, provided us with an estimate, and the work was done in half an hour. The dryer needed a new heating element. There is a $100 service fee which goes toward the bill if they get the job after the estimate. The price point is high which might scare away some customers. Our LG dishwasher quit working after just 1 year. we tried everything we knew to fix it, but to no avail. We called Bowmans to explain our issue and then scheduled an appointment. The owner came out with an apprentice. He was patient and explained what he was doing and why. After about 15 minutes, he knew what was wrong. The drain pump went out. The repairman told us that he was uncomfortable doing the necessary work to fix our stove. He told us to either stop using the faulty burner or purchase a new stove. I also surprised them by asking them to diagnose a problem in my microwave so I could decide whether to repair or replace it. They said that the microwave diagnosis would cost $45. I said go for it. They diagnosed it within 5 minutes, so they didn't charge me for it, which was a pleasant surprise. Purchased a new dryer and need to have it converted for propane use. Called and made an appointment a week ago. 1/2 hour prior to the scheduled appointment they called and said the technician does not service our part of the city. The have had the address this entire time and if they don't service an area, they could have called earlier or even verified at the time of the setting of the appointment. 1 week without a dryer and I have to find another place that will do the service. read more

We live in Placerville. I called Bowman for a repair on my stove. The recording said that they would get back to us within 24 hours. However 72 hours later i was still waiting. So I went online and filled out their appointment request. So here i am 72 hours later and still no response. Now if you don't want my business at least have the decency to call and say so. I left a message for them after-hours on Thursday (along with a few other places) and Bowman's was the first to get back to me Friday morning -- and was able to send someone out "between 11 and 3." Alex showed up at 11 almost exactly, listened to our issue with our fridge/freezer, explained the $79 fee (good for 30 days), and got to work. He was knowledgeable and personable, and may or may not have fixed the problem (ice maker being weird and it'll have to run awhile to see if the problem is resolved or not). Cleaned up after himself and got it all put back together with an explanation of how we're going to see if the problem is fixed or not. If not, they'll probably have to come back with a new ice maker. Overall we felt we were treated fairly and respectfully. Keeping their number on hand, although I hope we never need to call them again. read more

Perfect case of bait and switch. Originally asked if they did Saturday appointments? they said yes. made apt 2 weeks out, day before appt. they said would not be able to do anymore Sat. appts. however technician would hopefully be able to fix all on one appt.....I told them again all I could accommodate was Saturday appts.....again told let's see what technician can fix as I gave them all the model #'s requested. technician showed up and diagnosed 3 appliances, however showed up with NO parts...obviously they could not fix on that day and billed for inspection charge......and declined to comeback out on a Saturday to fix. If they told me No, do not do Saturday appt.s I would have called another service place. they originally said they did to only change it a day before they came out. Terrible customer service!
