I feel that his lack of knowledge of the law compromised my claim and caused his lack of credibility with opposing counsel. Nevertheless, I was billed $4000.00 for ONE LETTER, which was poorly constructed out of boilerplate and unimpressive. Opposing counsel basically shrugged and ignored him. He sat around for months, granting their delays and running up my bill by re-reading old emails. and supposedly having non-existent phone conversations with me. LOL. Finally, I realized that I was being scammed, and fired him for irreparably damaging the attorney-client relationship, egregiously damaging my claim and misrepresenting my position to opposing counsel. Despite his "super lawyer ego", he had no credibility with anyone, including me. Unsurprisingly, after I fired him, he kept my retainer and justified it by billing for 4 additional hours, after he was fired, although he had obviously not worked on my case for several months. He must have been thinking about me while he took a crap, and decided to bill me $1600.00 for his "attorney work product". My kids were infuriated by the way he cheated me and urged me to complain to the Bar Association about him. If you are looking for a strong advocate to champion your cause, Schofield is not your guy. If you are looking for a polite, responsive, respectful professional, whose representation will fill you with pride and admiration, Schofield is not your guy. If you are looking for a compassionate, gentlemanly attorney to protect your interests and impress your opponents with his legal prowess, Schofield is not your guy. If you're looking for an abusive, arrogant egomaniac, who mistreats his disabled clients, bills unfairly and does lousy work, bend over and give the guy a call. He'll charge you $250.00 up front for the honor of taking your phone call. That should be your first red flag about Mr. Money Sucker. It goes downhill from there.
