Westcott (Monte) came over for the initial scoping of the project, and then Jim and Mike were the…read moreelectricians who performed the upgrades over a period of two days. The project was to upgrade my old Federal Pacific 150A load center (30 circuits) with a Square-D QO 200A load center (54 spaces 64 circuits). There are now *plenty* circuit breaker spaces free for future additions, or for MWBC conversions to more modern wiring standards which use AFCI or G/AFCI (which do not, for the majority of cases, support multi wire branch circuits, aka "shared neutral", 120V-N-120V setups). Also upgraded my 150A service to 200A service. This required NYSEG to come in and hook up the new meter and such after about 2 weeks. During this period of time, the new load center was jumpered in from the old load center's range circuit breaker, via a short length of service entrance cable, hooked up into a double pole, 50A circuit breaker in the new panel. The old panel and jumper were removed by Jim as the final cleanup and finalization process. Value wise, well, I won't sugarcoat it--it was expensive. But then I realized there were 2 people who worked 20 hours over 2 days, and it was pretty hard work too, definitely they've earned it. The cleanliness and organization of the work itself was great. They used EMT conduit, junction boxes, and THHN wires running between to eliminate having to use NM wires for the ~3ft extension to the new load center's location, which would have been both ugly looking and clunky. I also had my contractor, who used to be a telecoms engineer as well as an electrician, look over their work, and he agreed it was well done.

He used scrap wood from other jobs and the decking was pieced together. He stopped taking my calls and text so i'll have to go see him in person. Michael Hull will sell you a good story about all the work he can do for you such as remodeling…read moreyour kitchen. He left holes in the walls behind the appliances, his paint job was not done correctly, many spots on the wall missed. He painted my windows closed. Reassured me of all the things that we agree on and once he got into the job he forgot our conversation. My kitchen cabinet handles were installed blatantly uneven meaning one handle was A LOT lower than the other. He blamed that on his assistant, James. He made the opening to the diswasher too small so the side, rubber gaskets cannot fit into the cabinet and protrude all the way around the Dishwasher. I made him redo a few things which he did while very mad at me, so I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GUY. He will tell you everything you want to hear and he will forget that conversation promptly. Inexperienced, no pride in workmanship, no attention to the details and will not listen to you when you point things out that he did wrong. This is just the tip of the iceberg, so much to say, so little space. Just don't hire this wannabe, because he has no clue what he is doing.

And just when I thought it couldn't get better Willy and the crew showed up and got to work setting up heavy tarp to protect our landscaping before starting tear off. The cooperation of Shawn and the great drone pictures throughout the project was amazing. And they finalized the project with a sweep of the yard picking up every single screw/nail and left nothing behind. I was away on business during the project and with the steady flow of updates from Shawn he made me feel like I was there. In the end Shawn and Willy's crew did so great they made me want to buy another house just so I could hire them again. Now I'm driving around looking for houses with bad roofs for sale.

Then the beginning of June they showed up to my house at 7am with no call, no notice nothing. A guy was sitting in my driveway, didn't come knock on the door. Then exited his vehicle grabbed a ladder & put it on the side of my house right where my bedroom window is, where my wife was getting dressed for work. My wife was beyond upset, I called the office to explain to them what happened & all I got was we are sorry it won't happen again. obviously it won't happen again, you guys are gonna do the work & leave you won't be back. Then the Forman for the job texted me & said he was busy getting materials for the job & apologized for not communicating that his guys were showing up. But a phone call takes two seconds. if you had a minute to text me you could have called me to let me know your crew was showing up. Once the job was completed they sent the invoice immediately & it said I had 30 days to pay. I called the office to yet again explain how frustrated I am with my experience & how this is gonna reflect my bill. to no avail, I got "oh a company wide email was sent out to explain this can't happen". After all that I got called & texted 4 times each asking when I was gonna pay. Yet again I thought I had 30 days to pay. All in all invoice was paid & I will not do business with you again beyond unprofessional.
