They described a parque floor with herringbone edges as "easy". It easily quadrupled the time to install the floor and the over all result has some issues. It was not manipulative, it was just poor advice for novice floor install. They ended up selling us *less* wood than they would have because one quarter of the patten used wood we already owned. They are honest and have good prices. However their advice is not for novices. In they should enquire if the costumer has experience before recommending expert level floor patterns.

Then, from that point, the owner Darrin has been very hard to communicate with. He won't respond to texts or calls or messages unless we ask for a refund. Then, when he does respond he is very rude. We've been waiting for almost 3 weeks for Cobble Creek to come and correct the mistake...so living in chaos and trying not to unpack too much since we know that our "mistake" counter tops will be removed at some point to install the correct counter tops. There has been no offer of compensation at all. It simply was a mistake and we, as the customer, are suppose to accept it and live with it. Prior to having our counters installed, our contractor removed our existing cabinets and counters too soon...so, at this point we have been living without a kitchen for almost 6 weeks! It is completely ridiculous and extremely frustrating that we cannot get Cobble Creek to commit to an installation date for our new counters. Darrin's unprofessional and rude response... nothing has changed since our last conversation [2 1/2 weeks ago]...I told you it would take a few days to get it built. He refuses to give us an exact installation day / time. He expects homeowners to be home or drop everything they have scheduled to be here whenever they are ready to show up and install. These guys were nice UNTIL they screwed up and then they become unresponsive. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone or use them again.

Why was this crowded store perplexing to me? Well, first, they don't exactly keep retail hours. Second, it's a hard place to find. Let me lay it out for you so when you go, you'll find the right place the first time. If you're in one of these, your in the WRONG place: 1. 2885 S 300 W. That's the Contempo Granite Slab Gallery. Although called a "gallery", it really isn't made for the customer. Some Russian dude shooed me away. 2. 1425 Industrial Rd. Nope, that's their Cabinet warehouse. 3. A big Contempo warehouse in the 3700 area of 300W. Look across the street. 4. A light-green-hued building with a big "Contempo" sign on it. Nope ... but you're close. A cool-looking building with a whole bunch of big, multi-styled tiles on the outside ... with SHOWROOM on the front? You've arrived! So, now that I've digressed ... and spent several paragraphs telling you why I didn't give it 5 stars, let's get to the great stuff: THE AWESOME CERAMIC TILE! So many styles: Glass tile, natural stone, porcelain, mosaics. So many brands, from the fancy upscale brands like Walker/Zanger to, yes, the Tommy Bahama, which I had NO FRIGGIN' IDEA had gotten into the tile game (!!!!), actually had some cool stuff. Shape and "look" are also important, and they have a variety: Hexagons, linear, penny rounds, plank, wood, three-dimensional, and subway tile ... to name a few.
