It is little hard to find a Dojo iam 50 yrs old and have 2 kids i remember doing Tae Kwon Do in 1998 iam a parent and as parent we must know its not all about having our kids having fun and play around our kids need to get off cell and have structure and discipline yes kids need fun but 1 hour Dojo of structure is this really Bad....I say this because I visited over 10 Dojo and it just seems main focus is get a belt every 2 or 3 months and alote of play and I noticed many parents think this is good I feel like saying hey dad its time to be a dad for 1 hour I mean so many parents were on there cell playing instead of watching there kids im not perfect dad but I want to watch my kids learn and fall so I can remind them its ok.. to fall but you must listen to the sensei and learn how to get up . But anyways I dont want to say to much and have parents upset with my words but coming here to Master Thompson I was very impressed he does not give belts out like popcorn think only once a year but seems kids are pretty proud of there belts then think a dad said it takes 8 years for black belt seems this is good but the school here is pretty big alote room and the Master Thompson is always teaching he has 1 assistant kristin she's been under him since 18 years and she's the assistant wow that's long time I drive about 15 min but for real teaching its worth it I highly recommend THOMPSONS TAE KWON DO LAS VEGAS read more

Be cautions when signing up with them (Sensei). It's easy to join, but very difficult to cancel. They continue charging every month even after you quit. The one-year membership is a scam - they ignored my decision to cancel and kept texting and pressuring me to go back. When we decided to quit and explained the reason, they required us to first go to his front desk (which they don't even have a front desk) to sign a cancellation form, send a picture of my son, write down he's name and then "buyout" the entire membership. Otherwise, they just kept charging us every single month. All students of all ages are placed in one class, regardless of level. It's not a place to learn, it's a place to waste time and money. Half of the class is listening to the instructor "Sensei" talk. They ignore any reasons you give for wanting to cancel and instead send millions of promotions and discounts in text message. Even tried to teach me how to be a good parents. When that didn't work, they threw the contract in my face and demand that us either buy out the membership or keep paying every month, whether we attend or not. I do not recommend this place, if you read my review, please be cautions when you sign their agreement. There are way better places in Vegas that charge less and teach better. My daughter has been attending Taekwondo since beginning of this year. We moved from California and my daughter was in Martial Arts for 2.5 years in CA. I went to several places and when I came to Thompson Taekwondo I felt so welcomed. It felt like I've known them for years. What impressed me was how long he's been doing Martial Arts for and he is very experienced and intelligent. A lot of the places I went to seemed like they were not as experienced and it was so crowded. The most important for me is that my daughter is happy and enjoys it. Kristen is always very experienced and is great with the kids. Taekwondo is something that takes time if you're looking for a change in your kids behavior. One of the reasons I introduced my daughter to Taekwondo is because we were having issues with her behavior. After almost 3 years, I see a HUGE difference. I would highly recommend Master Thompson, you will not regret it. Thank you worth every single penny. My name is Kenneth Ray Hunt, Father of Odin Ray Hunt & Oshun Ashia Hunt. MY EXPERIENCE: I meant my master for the first time when I was 14, in 2006 when Master Thompson first opened his school in Las Vegas. During this time of my life I was a troubled youth; a high school drop out, & with out many details heading down a path, troubled youth tend to go down. It took me years to realize how Depth of each Class & Value of the lessons I was learning. And how later they would play a MAJOR roll in my life. I am sure we can agree Character Development is priceless; although m at that time I thought all I was learning was Kicking, Punching and Blocking. I joined the military at 17; where I became a Combat Trained Infantry Officer, the training I underwent was difficult but my martial arts training had strengthened my mind and body. After the military; at 23 years old I returned to my home town and reunited with Master Thompson. I now am 31, own my own Business, and have two children who also attended Classes with Master. I can honestly say Martial Arts has changed my life at a young age; possible even saved it. Then to later become a large part of my life and without it I doubt I would have anywhere near the same levels of success I do now. My daughter have been a student of Master Thompson for almost a year. We tried other schools before. Knowing on how to defense yourself is critical in these days, specially if you are a girl . My daughter has not only learned to defense herself but also I want to add that this is a good class to acquire discipline, confidence and also to stay focus and learn to be resilient. For what it's worth, at times, son liked Master Thompson's class with the actual Taekwondo regiment. The main concern for this class is that they treat it more as business than teaching. Many may not agree with me because out of the masses I'll be the only one to mention that there's always solicitation to purchase more than what is needed. First off if you do sign a year contract and they verbally tell you that you can cancel at any time, obviously DO NOT BELIEVE their word of mouth. I was told that I could cancel at anytime with advanced notice which is what I did. My son due to personal reasons could not attend anymore. But no, they threw the contract at my face and double charged my credit card. They continue charging your credit card months after. They contact you via text asking to come back and solicit and solicit. But there's more, regarding scheduling. You're paying almost $200 a month for Taekwondo teachings, (at least what i was paying) yet at many times they want to have these "special events" during your scheduled time. I'm sure that events are nice and exciting for kids but why have events and yet you still have to pay extra for those? So basically you're paying for the class that your kid is not having and at the same time you're paying for the kid to be able to assist the event. If you need specific event details, one example is a "Bully Seminar" that they wanted to gain an extra $45 per kid during actual class time. If your kid did not pay, you had no bully class and no regular class. Works well? Nope. I may sound like I'm bitter but the reality is that it was a bad experience overall. At times I felt like I was at a local market being solicited to buy extra things for taekwondo. Mind you that if my kid was really enjoying it 100% I would purchase these items but not at their over priced cost coming from overseas.
